This movie improves on the previous movie by a whopping 79 seconds thanks to a new trick allowing Alex to ascend through walls Rockman style.

This might look like it's an auto-scrolling game, but in fact the scroll speed depends on the number of enemies on screen. The player tries to kill all enemies as soon as possible to increase the scroll speed, using 2 characters to maximize this process. Almost 30 seconds were saved compared to the previous version.

Of course the movie doesn't involve Batman going through walls or dying to achieve his objective quicker.

This movie is a 47.4 second improvements over the previous movie. Much of the improvements are a result of using the 2-player option where the player can control both characters simultaneously rather than one at a time.

This movie abuses death to a large degree to obliterate the game in record time.

This is actually nifboy's third movie of Cadash, and the first one considered worth publishing. This means that the author hasn't just thrown something together, but rather planned and optimized everything carefully.

During the span of the game, Headdy must defeat the evil puppet king Dark Demon who captured his friends' home town, the Keymasters that guard the path to the villain, and Headdy's lifelong rival Trouble Bruin, who is eager to take his place in the production.

To prevent all those bad things from happening, Headdy has a nice arsenal of interchangeable heads that are used both to attack enemies and to aid traveling, which brings enough variety to entertain the viewer throughout the movie.

This is the first submission for this game. You will do yourself a favour if you fast-forward the boring Andy's Asteroids bonus-levels.

Ecco is capable of moving at very high speed but has little in the way of brakes. Turning corners without smashing into walls is tricky to say the least.

Taz's main form of movement is his signature tornado, which is quite fast (and easily abused in a TAS for extra speed). If you like the other Taz run for Genesis, you'll probably enjoy this one too.

The object of each floor is to reach the stairs that take you up to the next floor. Normally this involves lots of exploring, collecting equipment, and fighting with numerous monsters; but, this being a TAS, you don't see so much of that.

This movie uses a lot of bugs to get ahead faster. The most prominent one is probably walking through walls, which renders keys obsolete. Also, if you finish a level without having some important item, the game assumes you have it anyway.

Another fun aspect is bomb-jumping, which allows both higher jumps and traveling vertically through walls. Almost the whole 2nd half of the game is skipped with this trick!

This movie by Aqfaq features all 80 levels solved in fast and unexpected ways. The strategies used to attain this result rely on several interesting tricks and glitches described in the submission comments.

In this movie, the protagonist wizard uses various unorthodox methods for completing the game as fast as possible. He dies four times in the process, but that does not slow him down at all. In fact, dying is one of the tricks that make this movie 1,5 minutes faster than its predecessor movie.

James Pond 3 is a platformer where your main character has enough speed to rival even Sonic. It's got an overworld map spanning over 100 levels; many of them holding crucial items, extra characters, upgrades and challenging bosses. Luckily enough you don't have bother with all of them in order to finish the game.

The collision detection is quite buggy, and the author takes advantage of this.

A normal play session would involve exploring four large continents and battling hundreds of creatures, but in this movie nobody gets killed and everyone is happy.

The input length is 10 seconds long, only 25 frames of which is actual gameplay!

The player is tied to a partner with an elastic band of ‘ring energy’. There are five selectable player characters, and seven partners. This run uses Knuckles as the primary character. Using a number of glitches (of which the most prominent is zipping through walls), most of the levels are completed tens of seconds faster than intended.

After each stage, the next level is selected via roulette. The cut-scenes and level select sequences are quite long, comprising about 66% of the total movie length. We recommend fast-forwarding these sequences of the movie.

The only things keeping Toki alive during this movie are the buggy hit detection and about two metric tonnes of luck.

Mukki manages to complete the game (and, subsequenly, expedite the process of becoming king) over 30 seconds faster than the previous movie, proving that Mukki is a better king than Dan. The author does this using tricks such as catching ledges and glitching past leopards.

This movie controls three characters simultaneously, and is the first movie to do so in TASvideos history. This, together with some other new tricks, is what lead to the massive (almost 5 minutes) cutdown in time. Keep in mind that only vikings that are on screen can be controlled.

The main character's ability to glide sets this apart from many other platformers. The author uses this power frequently to both gain speed and to simply hover above helpless enemies.

This game has very colorful and detailed visuals, especially for a Genesis game.

Story: an evil enemy kidnaps the hero's family. The hero is pleased, as this gives him a reason to wear a tight sleaveless shirt and blow up stuff with big guns.

Because Peacock the hero is not a very smart hero, he cannot walk and use his arms at the same time (a common video game character disability). Thus he must jump to be able to use his arms. If he is charging a bigger shot when he lands, he forgets to walk for a few frames, so you cannot charge up a shot too early. It's all very delicate.

Like in other RPG runs, luck has been manipulated for many things. Although random encounters can't be completely avoided, no damage is ever taken except from bosses, and most of the leveling is done in a final rush.

Aside from not using the bug, this movie aims to beat the game as fast as possible.

The graphics, music, sounds, controls are all absolutely phenomenal with interesting characters, gorgeous trippy backgrounds, and tough-but-not-too-tough bosses and puzzles. I'm very confident in saying that it's one of the best games you've probably never heard of.

Revenge of Shinobi is the sequel to the SMS port of Shinobi, the prequel to Shinobi III, and related to Shadow Dancer.

The author of this TAS chose to get maximum height bonuses instead of using the end pole for a small, boring speed boost.

As Bag of Magic Food so excellently put it, "Starface has stretchy arms and wastes time spinning on poles."

This is a 1 minute 33 second improvement over the author's previous movie. Details about the improvements can be found in the authors comments.

As a result, we get a pretty wild mishmash of RoboCop's and Terminator's backstories in a silly plot, accompanied by equally wild gameplay. This includes seemingly inescapable bullet sprays, leotard-clad baddies, exploding heads, hidden 1-ups conveniently placed in something that looks like lava, and so on. The sheer frustration RoboCop experiences from all this madness can only be vented by banging his head on a rock.
(You wish that any of this was a joke.)

The Genesis version of this game is notable for the amount of gore and other PG-13 goodies, as well as being able to abuse death and other things that make it most suitable for a TAS.

This is a 7 minute 38 second improvement over the previous movie. Much of this improvement is simply due to defeating bosses more quickly. The author has left detailed comments about these improvements.

A lesser-known entry in the Shinobi series, the game still holds its own. As always, ninjas rescue their hostages with style, and celebrate victories against bosses with a suicidal plunge off the nearest skyscraper.

This movie plays the hardest difficulty and starts with zero shurikens (although it picks some up during the run). Uses death as a shortcut is marked because Joe has the ability to sacrifice a life to damage all enemies on the screen.

This run takes everything you know about Sonic and Knuckles and turns it upside-down. It extensively uses the "scroll objects offscreen to pass through them" trick to warp to places that shouldn't be reached, break bosses, and effectively skip entire stages.

Approximately 65 seconds of in-game time are saved in this run of Sonic 3. For details about what's changed, we recommend reading the author's comments of this movie.

Though, since the latter set of Emeralds isn't used for anything meaningful at all, the author has also provided a version that skips all the Super Emeralds and their respective bonus stages, which is about 9 minutes shorter. This game is supposedly about an alien taking control over earth, but since the first level says "Казахская ССР", there are small red stars everywhere, and one of the bosses holds a hammer and sickle... well, we all know what this game is really about.
