| In the direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Link is back to being a lone boy without a fairy. One day, he is attacked by Skull Kid and his two fairies, Tatl and Tael, and they steal his ocarina. After pursuing Skull Kid, he is transformed into a Deku Scrub. Link continues pursuing Skull Kid all the way to the Clock Town (now with the help of Tatl the fairy, a more 'in yo face' version of Navi). This TAS of the game is the result of three years of hard work and many restarts due to new discoveries. It features many never-before-seen tricks and glitches, and completes every dungeon without getting a single boss key. Everything is done out of order, in ways that will amaze the viewer and keep them on the edge of their seat the entire way through, including a whole new way of warping between the areas in the game's over-world, and a new method of traveling that makes even the longest stretches in the game seem tiny. The author beats the game in two 3-day cycles (the previous route used three), and does so in a way that puts every past attempt at a 6-day challenge to shame. Note: There are encodes of higher resolutions in the discussion thread. Also, if you know the cutscenes of this game by memory at this point and would rather watch an encode without them, it's your lucky day. | ||

| On this site, we make perfect movies, and then we surpass them. Of course, if we can surpass them, they were not perfect in the first place, but who would have known? When "perfection" is defined as "as fast as possible", it requires some sacrifices. Indeed, this movie sacrifices a lot in the playability of the game. Full of tricks to pass through walls, tricks to avoid mandatory battles, tricks to pass through enemies relatively unharmed, tricks to acquire weapon refills in little time — there is very little in this movie left that resembles normal playing. Even death is used as a viable playing strategy that saves time. All of the tricks are still performed by the means of mere controller input, even though significant portions of the input were calculated by a computer program. This movie is a considerable improvement of 3:04.39 to the previous movie; this is mainly due to a new technique which tricks the game into calling an 'end of level' object. Of course, upon watching this movie, one does have to question something... is it Mega Man saving the world? Or Dr. Wily trying to save it from absolute destruction? | ||

| At first there were 70 stars because Bowser demanded it. Then there were 16 stars because MIPS the rabbit demanded it. Then there was 1 star because Bowser's Sub demanded it. Now there are none because the viewers are impatient and demanded the game be quicker. As with many other runs on this site, the goal of pure speed has resulted in the complete breaking of the game. Very little of the game's normal play remains. If you'd like to see more of what Super Mario 64 offers, see the 120 stars run. This movie is 20 frames faster than the previous movie due to a new route and extreme optimization, explained in the submission message. Super Mario 64 has a history of publications on this site. | Rockman & Forte (ロックマン&フォルテ), known as Megaman & Bass in the western world, used to be the last game chronologically released for the original Rockman/Megaman series, until Rockman & Forte Mirai kara no Chōsensha (ロックマン&フォルテ 未来からの挑戦者) was released on the WonderSwan handheld system. This time around, Wily has his own creation turned against him, allowing you to play as Megaman or a bad guy! This run uses only Rockman, however, and collects all 100 CDs, which is not intended to be possible using only one character. Then again, many things happen that were not intended to be possible. This run is a collaboration between sparky, the current author of the other branches for this game, parrot14green, the author of the previous "100 CDs" run, and woabcfl, the author of the Rockman no Constancy runs. It surpasses the previous movie by 1:40.96. Please read the authors' notes for more details. There are two more Rockman & Forte runs to watch on this site; featuring completion of the game with Rockman and Forte as fast as possible, without worrying about CD collection. | ||

| This movie takes a different approach to Super Metroid. Rather than simply beating all the bosses as quickly as possible, this run deliberately defeats them in reverse order. This makes life more difficult for Samus since she does not have the protection and mobility granted by her suit upgrades. In some areas her health is constantly being drained, making for some intense drama not seen in any other Super Metroid movie. Due to the circumstances mentioned above, many lesser known tricks and techniques are used in this run, such as charge beam combos and multiple uses of the crystal flash technique. Read about these and other tricks on the Super Metroid game resource page. For a more detailed description of the routes and strategies used in this movie, read the author's comments. | ||

| This hack of Super Mario World contains a Star World which contains themed levels that connect to various locations on the map. Like the original Super Mario World, these levels can be used as a makeshift warp zone. This movie demonstrates this path - navigating the Star World to charge straight to Bowser, leaving much of the game untouched. This movie is 19.03 seconds shorter than the previous movie primarily as a result of the new Pokey Stun Glitch, which almost completely bypasses Desert Star World. See the author's comments for more details. | Everyone who has at least once attempted to gather a soul from each of the 120 different enemies in Aria of Sorrow, especially during a speedrun, knows the frustration it incurs after a hundredth failed attempt to get the required drop. That just makes this all-souls TAS, in which the player beats the game on hard mode and without using glitch warps in a little less than 25 minutes, even more impressive.
Upon completing his warpless run, Kriole decided to take another jab at this category, improving upon his earlier effort by 51 seconds.
However, if you would like to see the game beaten to a pulp in a mere quarter of this time, don't miss the glitched run by klmz.
Note: While the player doesn't use glitch warps (neither by death nor by getting out-of-bounds using transform souls), he uses the normal warp rooms present in the castle. Note: Starting from reset was necessary to use hard mode. However, doing so is normally not allowed — refer to the rules to see the reasons.

More importantly, it features new glitches relative to the runs of the original SM64. Ludicrous-speed bouncing around. Completed without collecting any emeralds, with both Sonic and Tails controlled by the player.
This run takes everything you know about Sonic & Knuckles and turns it upside-down. It extensively uses the "scroll objects offscreen to pass through them" trick to zip and warp to places that shouldn't be reached, break bosses, and effectively skip entire stages.
It is worth noting that nitsuja and Upthorn did not directly participate in the creation of this movie; instead, marzojr incorporated several additional tricks in several stages and spliced them in for a total improvement of 2:14.31 seconds over his last effort at doing the same.

| Full completion of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Both this run and the short version use a wobbling trick in order to make Link walk a bit faster. The execution of this maneuver requires the usage of a controller that allows the player to press Up+Down simultaneously (such as, in this case, a modified Snes9x's controller). The traveling-through-walls trick that is seen in the short version is not used. This run features an improvement of a little over 4 minutes. | ||

| The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is an updated version of an older GB game to add colour graphics, an additional dungeon, various other minor features, and a lot of bug fixes. Link, after rescuing Hyrule (again?), sets off on a journey and subsequently shipwrecks on the mysterious Koholint Island, which has been overtaken by evil monsters which he must defeat in order to find a way back home. Through a wide variety of glitches and general optimisations, this is now almost ten minutes faster than the previous full run of this game. This run does not make use of a form of warp glitching, but still demonstrates that they obviously didn't fix as many bugs as they thought. | ||

| Sonic bounces around surprisingly fast. The lack of spin-dash makes the strategy a bit different than the other Sonic runs, since preserving your momentum becomes a lot more important. However, this doesn't prevent the authors from achieving crazy velocities even with such a significant limitation. In this run, the game is completed without collecting any emeralds. This is the sixth run of this game, improving on the previous effort by 47.29 seconds with the use of new zips and improved precision. | Although newcomers to TASVideos's player list, Taco and Kriole are both experienced TASers in regards to Super Metroid, this time having teamed up in a mission to perfect one of the most contested games in the site's history. Using a new route and taking advantage of several techniques, never demonstrated before in other Super Metroid runs outside of waiting areas, they made short work of Mother Brain and her space pirates. The in-game completion time is 23 minutes 29 seconds, and 18% of the items have been collected. Thus, both the realtime and the in-game any% movies were obsoleted. | The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is a Game Boy Color game that carries over much of the graphics from Link's Awakening. Surprisingly, much of the game engine is completely different and developed by Capcom. In it, the Oracle of Seasons, Din, is kidnapped by Onox, General of Darkness. Link must travel throughout both Holdrum and Subrosia to collect the 8 Essences of Nature, power up the Rod of Seasons, and defeat Onox. This game has been attempted by various authors over the past 5 years. Finally, SwordlessLink, along with Tompa, who joined the project after dungeon 4, beat this legendary game in 1:25:57.21 primarily through the use of pitwalking, Pegasus Seeds, and enemy manipulation. | Donkey Kong's been kidnapped and old Cranky Kong insists that Diddy collect a bunch of coins that say "DK" on them. These goals are sufficiently compatible that Diddy and Dixie decide to get a little bit sidetracked on their rescue plan. The main improvement in this movie comes from using Hard Mode. That means there are no DK Barrels lying around the stages. Also, whenever you start a level or sucessfully complete a bonus, you'll have both Kongs, which allows for more places to sacrifice a Kong and save time. By playing in this mode, 53.71 seconds were saved compared to its predecessor. Note: this run was made using the input of the old movie from Comicalflop and NxCy, and improvements were spliced in by Dooty. For more primate action, we recommend watching the any% movie. | ||

| In the revolutionary 3D debut for The Legend of Zelda series, Link must travel around the colorful land of Hyrule and awaken six Sages in order to save it from the evil Ganondorf.
This movie uses a variety of sequence breaks and shortcuts to complete the game in under an hour using a minimal number of inventory and quest items. Of central interest are the ability to glitch through the Door of Time, meaning that no dungeons need to be entered as young Link, and a memory manipulation glitch known as the Reverse Bottle Adventure, allowing the medallions collected from adult Link's dungeons to be pulled out of thin air; therefore the only dungeon that is ever entered in this run is Ganon's Castle.
While this run seems to be only 1:31.26 faster than the predecessor movie, the saving is a bit over 8 minutes. This is due to the fact that the Japanese ROM image used for the previous run had a faster text speed, shortening the cut-scenes by 6.5 minutes.
If you know the cutscenes of this game by memory at this point and would rather watch an encode without them, it's your lucky day!
Note: There are multiple encodes for this run. All encode lists follow this order:

Samus Aran, a bounty hunter, returns to the planet of Zebes, in order to explore its depths, and defeat Mother Brain and the Space Pirates. This movie sees the reinstatement of the in-game category, which was previously merged with the realtime run. | Family Feud (1993) follows the premise of the American TV show of the same name. Two families are pitted against each other in a contest aimed at guessing the results of a public survey. In the first two rounds, the first family member to press a button and give a concise answer that happens to be on the survey earns points. After that, this family can continue guessing answers on the survey, with control switching to the other family on incorrect guesses. After two rounds, the family with fewer points is disqualified, and the last round allows two members of the remaining family to list several of the existing survey answers in a very short time period. Heisanevilgenius's family, The As, ignores all that and goes with elaborate and utter nonsense instead… only to find the host accepting their answers as correct. The other family, The Halls, doesn't even get the chance to insert a word, proving the racial prejudice of the host. Watch the game and see for yourself. | EarthBound is a great RPG, designed by Shigesato Itoi in 1994-1995, and is also known by the name Mother 2. It is best described as "random", in a good way. The game has a great emphasis on a humor, and indeed many things in the game are almost caricatured, from subplots to characters. It also has a versatile soundtrack. Our description for the previous movie stated, "Although this being a speedrun (tool-assisted at that), most of the plot of the game is intact...". This time around, not so much. Thanks to some collision detection bugs, including one that shows that the Skip Sandwich is a fitting name for the item in ways the developers never intended, the author is able to move around the game's areas freely, completing the bare minimum number of tasks needed to keep the final battle from locking up. Also unlike the previous movie, this one does use a death as a shortcut. However, the teddy bear survives this time around.

This is the real Super Mario Bros 2. It was never officially released in the USA and Europe. It was later ported to SNES, and released as "Lost Levels" on Super Mario All-stars. FDS means Famicom Disk System. It was a Japanese disk-unit version of the NES. In addition to the standard encode, there is an experimental encode produced in 10-bit YUV444 h.264, providing higher visual quality. You will need a very recent codec / media player (such as LAV Filters or mplayer2) to be able to play this experimental encode back. | Metal Slug X (2001) is a remixed version of Metal Slug 2, the second installment of an immensely popular run'n'gun series released on the Neo Geo MVS. The games are notable for incredibly detailed pixel graphics, fluid animation, and good humor; but the real key to their longevity is, of course, their high difficulty as far as survival goes.
This is x2poet's 16.42 seconds improvement over the previous movie, despite now using the hardest difficulty setting. One notable improvement is the use of both players, compared to one in the obsoleted run.
You can also see more of x2poet's Metal Slug work by looking at his runs from Metal Slug, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4 and Metal Slug Advance.
You may experience desync issues if you try to play the FBM file. You can download a set of save states, from the author, to watch it from the beginning to the end. For more information about this, you can read the author's comments.

| This movie of Sonic Advance is unique as a speedrun in one aspect: Sonic moves so fast that the "camera" of the game cannot even
follow him. Therefore, he is rarely seen in the movie.
On the rare occasions we get to watch Sonic, we get to enjoy seeing him
moving through walls, charging up for another dash, or making short work of bosses.
Besides the super fast speed itself, the speed also provides Sonic an ability
(glitch) to pass through platforms and walls under certain conditions.
Mukki's TAS improves the previous run by 30.94 seconds, thanks to new routes and glitches explained in his comments.
Note: There are two encodes available for download; the first one is the original version, and the second one is made with a special emulator, hacked to force the game's camera to focus on Sonic, making it much easier to follow what Mukki is doing with him. The second YouTube stream displays these views side-by-side.

| Gimmick! (1992) is another gem from Sunsoft, the company that brought us Ufouria and Journey to Silius. It was only released in Japan and Scandinavian countries, but eventually achieved somewhat of a cult status thanks to its refined gameplay, as well as exceptional music and graphic design. The plot follows a green toy on a quest to rescue a little girl from the clutch of other toys, who were rightfully upset at her forsaking them in favor of our protagonist. What these other toys can't do, however, is conjure stars to use them both as projectiles and very effective transportation devices! This joint venture between Aglar and Hotarubi improves the previous movie by nearly a whole minute thanks to a lot of new and refined tricks and shortcuts. They don't collect the special items required to access the 7th level, and thus get a bad ending. However, we have a "best ending" run as well just for your viewing pleasure! | ||

| This movie features a perfect example of what can occur when TASers will go to any extreme to sequence break a long game. Very little that is recognizable remains. Cpadolf forgoes key items, yet bothers to collect the X-Ray scope, an item normally useless to an experienced Super Metroid player.
With the use of X-Ray Scope to get out of the rooms' bounds, some non-trivial physics abuse, and esoteric RAM data manipulation via dying in a certain room, the amount of tasks Samus usually has to do on Zebes has been cut to almost nothing. No boss is ever fought in this TAS, and even Mother Brain is skipped completely. The in-game completion time is 00:12. Only 6% of the items are collected.
This is an improvement of 25.61 seconds real-time, or 22.98 seconds in-game, over the previous glitched any% run. The main improvement comes from a new method of skipping the cutscene with the big metroid, although the author found many other improvements along the way.
The peculiar effects of the Space/Time Beam, if properly utilized, can cut this run's time further in half. The movie will have to begin from a savestate, but Samus will start the game fully powered-up, so item collection and all detours associated with it are no longer required. Such a movie, also made by Cpadolf, can be found here; its completion time is 12:46 (00:06 by the in-game timer). The second Castlevania title released on Nintendo DS after Dawn of Sorrow, this game is a direct sequel to BloodLines on Sega Genesis. Dracula rises from the dead yet again (cue groan), and it's up to Jonathan Morris, helped out by Charlotte Aulin, a powerful mage student, to defeat him.
This run saves 5:21.21 over the previous run (more than half its length!). First of all, the run uses a previously proposed alternate route. This route would be longer, except that there is also a glitch used which allows attacks to hit more often than they should, and this glitch makes the new route viable. Lastly, there are also faster movement methods used. As a result, you will (un)fortunately hear a lot less of Jonasan! Sharotto! Jonasan! Sharotto! Jonasan! Sharotto!in this version.

| The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening is a classic Game Boy Zelda adventure. Link must travel across the dream world of Koholint Island, collecting the 8 Instruments to wake the Wind Fish and go home after a terrible shipwreck. bobmario511 (the author), however, decided collecting instruments for a one-man band was a waste of time, so he skipped all of that and went straight to the Wind Fish (with a pesky boss battle in the middle). The author improved the run by 0.16 seconds merely by delaying the third screen warp by one frame. Doing this causes the object on the screen to disappear, reducing the lag by 15 frames. After encountering 5 frames of seemingly unavoidable additional lag, the author produced a run with a net improvement of 10 frames. See the author's notes for more details. | Super Mario Kart is the first in a popular series of games starring the Mario cast racing go-karts. This run aims to get record times in all tracks at 150cc difficulty. This is achieved mostly by jumping straight into walls, bottomless pits, and lava, among many other things. Mushrooms are also used frequently due to their mysteriously friction-free propulsion powers. A high amount of wall-bouncing is required. This run is over a minute and a half faster than the previous published run, due to new exploits of the definition of a lap. | ||

Cpadolf's movie is an incredible improvement to nitsuja's movie, which was itself 5 minute improvement to previously published version. | Mega Man X2 makes a particularly interesting run as there are many weapons that can be used to increase mobility. These include a grappling hook, a fast mid-air dash and a weapon that can transform enemies into platforms. The authors take special care to ensure that when there is a situation in which a weapon could help them progress quicker, they make use of it. This run improves the previous version by about 23 seconds of game-time. The previous run used the Japanese ROM, and the shorter cutscenes in that version make the improvement less apparent. This movie aims for the fastest time possible. However, because the shōryūken (flame uppercut) used towards the end of the movie saves so much time, and because to get it the authors must first collect 100% of items such as Heart Tanks, Sub Tanks, and Item Capsules, this movie could be seen as a 100% run. Zero Parts are not required for the shōryūken, and thus they are not collected. If you would like to watch this game played collecting Zero's parts, but not collecting any of X's, see this run. The page Mega Man X Tricks explains some of the tricks that can be used in the X series games.

| In this run, adelikat picks up maximum speed upgrades and has fun with perfect reflexes, much like the previous movie. That is certainly something nice to do, because the game scrolls automatically and the player cannot affect the speed. However, the point of this movie is not just to beat this game as fast as possible, but rather to do all kinds of unpredictable and awe-inspiring things rarely seen in any TAS — without losing time. See for yourself. This is probably one of the best illustrations on how to create art out of a simplistic and otherwise uninteresting game to watch. What is also different about this movie is an extra warp which significantly shortens the game, and the use of a new tool (input macro) as described in the submission text. Bots are occasionally used to generate pseudorandom input while still avoiding death. Also be sure to check out this movie being played back on an actual NES. | ||

| Ninja Five-O features a ninja cop battling evil ninja masters and terrorists. Joe Osugi, bizarre 'anti-terrorist ninja', is called in to assist the local police, who seem to be completely useless in rescuing some hostages. The game is basically a series of rooms connected together. Your job is to rescue the hostages and then escape the stage through the red door. You have in your arsenal a three-level shuriken, a sword, and a grappling hook similar to the one from Bionic Commando. Joe also has two special abilities: to make himself invincible and to attack all enemies on screen. This new version by Cardboard is 1 minutes and 31 seconds faster than the previous one by Nitsuja, containing even more ropeswinging acrobatics and ninja madness. | ||

| This movie aims for the fastest possible time to get a score of 999999 in this game. A surprising 17.53 seconds have been shaved off the previous movie through the discovery of a new glitch.
It warps directly to the 18th level and fills half of the field quickly to be able to operate short distances in the top part of the field. From there on, it only gets tetrises (4-line clearings) until the score is maxed out.
A glitch involving pressing several directional buttons at once is used to manipulate luck for the next pieces. Flickering of the next piece block and piece in play results. Of course, the fun doesn't stop there, the L blocks also have their say in getting tetrises.
For the record, this is the fastest speed the NES game is capable of. For more extreme Tetris fun, please see movies

| Chrono Trigger is a long RPG that typically takes hours to days to complete. We already have one tool-assisted speedrun of this game. However, this game also has a NewGame+ mode, where all the equipment and characters' stats are preserved from the previous completions, and player is allowed to fight the last boss, Lavos, almost immediately at the beginning. This movie starts from a save file with optimized equipment and character stats, created specifically for NewGame+. (We do not generally accept movies starting from predefined saves. Read the rules to see our reasons.) This new version of a NewGame+ TAS by inichi is 2 minutes and 24 seconds faster than his previous attempt due to the discovery of a certain data-manipulating glitch that allows him to deal maximum amount of damage every critical hit. It is only possible to do on the Japanese version of the game, which is the reason for a version change. See the author's comments for a detailed explanation. The killing blow is delivered in just under five minutes of gameplay, but additional time has to be spent to go through the Dream Team scene in order to make the game actually end. | ||

| The Lost Levels is the remake of the game released in Japan as Super Mario Bros 2; it is an exercise in Fake Difficulty, containing very difficult jumps, many enemies, problematic terrain, poisonous mushrooms, and, at worst, koopa jumps over walls or across pits. Most of it is senseless rehashing of elements in places where they don't belong (like amateur hacks). It's so difficult to beat that Nintendo of America released a wholly different game given a Mario theme as Super Mario Bros 2. Of all the games in Super Mario All-Stars, it's the only one in the set that saves your progress at individual levels rather than the start of worlds. It's that bad. This movie, 23.14 seconds faster than the previous, plays all levels, including the secret world 9, and extremely difficult A through D worlds. | ||

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, the third game in the series for the DS, takes a different direction from its direct predecessors in that it is more of a stage-based game, similar to the earliest entries in the series, rather than the "Metroidvania"-style first established by Symphony of the Night.

The shadow clones are a unique gameplay element not seen elsewhere in the series, but in this movie they are used mainly to make extremely short work of bosses and entertain the viewer immediately afterwards.
The game has a rich plot with lots of cutscenes. Because of this, the author has also supplied the "story" version of the movie, which exhibits the same gameplay but includes all the cutscenes skipped by pressing start (which sum up to about 3/4 of the entire movie). It can be obtained here.

| Fast bouncing around. This is a run of Sonic the Hedgehog which avoids zipping (gaining a large speed boost from being inside terrain), unlike the other run of the game. Therefore, most levels cannot be skipped, and instead have to be traversed using a more normal route, although the author still finds a couple of alternative methods to take shortcuts (it is hard to define hard rules to ban all glitches). In this run, the game is completed without collecting the Chaos Emeralds. | ||

| Mischief Makers (1997) is one of the rare 2D sidescrollers released for Nintendo 64. The player controls Marina, the robotic maid of a lecherous and absent-minded professor Theo, who has a habit of being kidnapped constantly. The ones who abduct him every now and then are Clancers from the evil Empire. (And make sure to watch out for the plot twist at the end!) Marina is quite a versatile cyborg. She can boost continuously in the air, ride vehicles, slide and jump like a maniac, and most importantly, shake. Make no mistake, you'll be seeing Comicalflop shake this thing, and even that thing quite a lot in this fast-paced run. The game is broken down into 52 short areas, each of them having a separate timer. Because of this, the author aims to optimize the movie for shortest in-game time. Each stage is given a rank based on how fast the stage was completed; this run gets all S Ranks. The game has some emulation errors, such as unnatural amounts of lag in some stages, and graphical glitches. See the author's comments for more details. | ||

| In this game, based loosely on the 2007 summer blockbuster, we see our friendly neighborhood Spider-man zip through 15 levels and 5 bosses with speed, style, and a sexy new black suit. In this run, mmbossman heavily abuses a technique that allows him to maintain a very high speed throughout each level, stopping only to rescue civilians or disable bombs. However, since speed isn't as important in boss fights, Spidey also gets a chance to show off some of his acrobatic and martial arts skills. | ||

While Chrono Trigger (1995) usually takes days to complete, inichi decided he'd rather not have to sit through all the unnecessary stuff, like long cutscenes, unskippable boss fights and key plot events, so he did it in 21 minutes instead. | This is a hacked version of Sonic the Hedgehog. The title character is replaced by his rival, Knuckles. The levels remain unchanged.
There is more than just an appearance change to this game. Knuckles' abilities remain intact. If you haven't seen Sonic the Hedgehog completed before, you may wish to do so before seeing what a character with a spindash and gliding can accomplish.
There is also a run for a Tails hack of Sonic the Hedgehog, done by marzojr. It replaces Knuckles with Tails and gliding with flying.
Note: An IPS patch for the hack can be downloaded here: http://tasvideos-moviefiles.googlecode.com/files/ips%2Bpatcher.zip . It must be patched to REV 00.

| VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK! NOW IS TIME TO THE 68000 HEART ON FIRE! Alien Soldier, released in 1995, is a spiritual successor to Gunstar Heroes (you can tell by the cameo appearances of certain bosses), and a real treat in terms of production values as described in the tagline quoted above. The game's rather nonsensical plot boils down to the protagonist, Epsilon-Eagle, having to fight his former terrorist comrades (as well as everything on his path). Thankfully, speedrunners don't care about plots either way. What is more important is that Alien Soldier epitomizes Treasure's concept of an action game: a fast-paced, flashy, relentless boss rush. As such, it has 33 grotesque bosses, each of them promising a guaranteed game over for inexperienced players. However, using Epsilon-Eagle's vast arsenal of weapons and dodging abilities, the authors plow through the game's "SUPERHARD" difficulty without any regard to its name in this long-awaited movie, achieving a total in-game time of 8 minutes 13 seconds. | ||

| "Thank you for playing Super Mario World! Unfortunately, this trial copy will only let you play for 2.5 minutes." This is a completely new type of Super Mario World TAS. It beats the game by getting the "THE END" screen in the second level (Yoshi's Island 3). This happens because a glitch allowing Yoshi to eat "nothing" enables players to manipulate memory and code into bringing up the final screen of the game. The heated discussion about the categorical separation regarding this movie and the recently published any% TAS invoked the creation of the "Corrupts Memory" category. | ||

| Seiken Densetsu 3 is a RPG about your typical ragtag group of young adventurers that totally lack any survival instinct; at least that'd explain why they never bother to get any protective gear.
