In this game, Alex Kidd discovers he is the prince of Radaxian, and his father, the king, has been kidnapped, allowing the tyrant Jenken to claim power; the game details his efforts to dethrone Jenken (surprisingly, his father is not tracked down until a later game in the series).

Few other games allow mini-bosses to be defeated by playing rock-paper-scissors.

Here Alex Kidd's girlfriend has been kidnapped and he needs to go rescue her. In addition to his bizarre ability to use poles and ropes to turn into a fireball, he also apparently has the ability to use ladders to warp through solid walls.

This is an improvement of 12.6 seconds over the previously published run.

I think you will share my views that the theme of this game clearly is about chocolate, cake, pencil, A B C letters and stuff like that :)

The screen is divided into three sections: map, close-up first-person view, and side-view, where the action takes place.

It's a prime infuriating example of fake difficulty, as Hayato moves incredibly slowly and there are generally an impossibly large number of enemies on the screen at any given time (especially bad in the training stages, where one hit sends you back to the beginning).

This version of the run completes all of the levels and collects all the scrolls (as opposed to the any%).

Usually this game would take many hours of wandering, collecting objects and solving problems. The author however is able to focus on key events and manages to beat the game in less time than Super Mario Bros...

This new movie is about a full minute faster due to newly found exploits.

If you enjoy this movie, you may want to take a look at this rejected movie of King's Quest V for the NES by the same author. It is unfortunately much longer and has poor graphics compared to the original, but is impressive nonetheless for people who have played it before.

By collecting various items on her travels, the ESP Booster grants Lucia various powers (kind of like Mega Man...) to destroy her enemies and also navigate quickly through levels. This is exacerbated for the author by poor hit detection and finicky input control. Input is only allowed one time every four frames. Nevertheless the end result is a fast paced and varied movie.

This run beats the previous run by 0.9 seconds.

Trivia: this game slightly predates the MegaDrive/Genesis version, so features the official first appearance of Sonic's flying mutant fox friend, Tails.

Wonderboy is the original version of the NES Hudson's Adventure Island.
