ActRaiser (1990) is a critically acclaimed SNES game which combines two major gameplay phases: a god simulator and an action platformer. You play the role of a deity called the Master, who awakens from his slumber only to find that the human civilization is completely wrecked, and hordes of demons are roaming free. Player's role as the Master is to restore and help develop the civilization anew, by controlling it during the overhead phases through a bow-wielding cupid, who also repels mischievous demons. The second part of the role is to open new locations for humans to inhabit, and to deal with the catastrophes happening there, which usually have something to do with grotesque monsters. This is where the action stages are used.

We recommend reading the author's comments for explanations on the actions taken in the movie.

The SNES version of Aladdin (1993) follows the plot of this Disney movie much more closely than its Genesis counterpart.

Unlike the last version of this movie, Jasmine wasn't happy with just being rescued by Aladdin; she made him spend a little time picking up some jewelry for her on the way. This movie aims to complete the game with all the red gems collected, which results in a slightly higher time than the previous movie, but adds quite a bit to the entertainment value of the run. The core trick of this TAS is to abuse the parachute extensively to move faster than normal walking or jumping.

The Animaniacs are a cartoon comedy trio, known for old school Warner Brothers style comedy mixed with some scathing political commentary.

This platformer of their namesake captures their personality well, with some comical and colorful animations. The author adds in his own techniques of walking on air and creating small scenes within the game while playing, especially during boss fights.

This game has a built in roulette, which is manipulated to always give the best result, especially invincibility when needed for tougher bosses.

- One player in a multiplayer game

- Genre: Action
- Genre: Platform
This is a game based on the completely "unique" concept of an evil boss trying to take over/destroy/do whatever with the world, and despite the Earth being filled with about 7 billion occupants, you are the only one who can stop it.

At first glance it may seem odd that, although the game is two player, only one player is used, and that's Player 2. Player 2 was chosen because her aerial attack gives an enormous speed boost. It is also one of the few attacks in video games that operates on frame precision, so smashing out a 30Hz rapid-fire on the controller will lay the beatdown pretty quickly.

That, combined with the fact that half the enemies in this game are of the standard "walk around and shoot" variety, allow the heroine to zip through the game with total reckless abandon. Few games allow a TASer to do that, so this is a rare opportunity indeed.

The game is eerily similar to Megaman 7 and Megaman X. It even has pick-throwing miners.

This is a 24 second improvement over the previous movie by the use of some new tricks. These are explained in the author's comments.

Bubsy is on a hunt to get back his yarn, which the Woolies stole.

Bubsy can run very fast, but unfortunately he almost never gets a chance to, because there are obstacles everywhere. Unlike most bobcats, Bubsy can die by touching anything remotely dangerous, like eggs or water. Also unlike regular bobcats, he can glide through the air, has a t-shirt with an exclamation mark, and a smile you'll just be dying to wipe off his face.

This is a 75 second improvement over acmlm's movie.

Castlevania: Dracula X (1995), released in Japan as Akumajō Dracula XX, is actually a toned-down remake of a PC Engine title known as Rondo of Blood (1993). It stars Richter Belmont, supposedly a son of Juste Belmont from Harmony of Dissonance, on a mission to save Annette (said to be his girlfriend) and Maria Renard (a young vampire huntress said to be his girlfriend's sister), along with a number of their fellow villagers, from imprisonment by Dracula (said to be the villain) and his minions.

Unfortunately, in this SNES port Richter isn't too much of a fast walker - unlike his father and the later Belmont clan descendants - so his fastest way of moving is constant backflipping (so don't get surprised with the author's choice of traveling method).

This movie is a 165 second improvement to the previous version by Dan and Nightcom; such a large gain is achieved thanks to greatly increased precision and other new tricks explained in the author's comments.

One of the best (and best known) shooters of the 16-bit era, Contra 3 forgoes any semblence of plot devices in favor of good old fashioned shooting and platforming with some tough as nails bosses, especially in this, the hardest mode.

Apparently not happy with an already amazing movie, Cpadolf felt the need to go on yet another black op, optimizing his distortions of space and time on the way to a 173 frame improvement.

Cyborg 009 is based on the manga and anime of the same name, which began a long time ago. There are eight characters that you can use, but one of them is set and you can only choose two others for each mission.

The run uses 008 (Pyunma) and 005 (Geronimo) most of the time. 008 can jump forward quickly and swim in water, while 005 does heavy damage to bosses. Various power-ups are collected to level-up 009 (Joe) due to an event near the end of the game.

The run uses the easiest difficulty due to the final boss taking less time to beat.

If you play this game, it is recommended to level-up 009 first, and a lot.

Demon's Crest is the third installment of the Gargoyle's Quest series. The player controls Firebrand, who is scouring the Demon Realm for elemental Crests, which preside over different elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Time, and Heaven). When collected, these crests allow Firebrand to transform his shape at will and gain powerful new abilities and defenses.

Demon's Crest is notorious for some very difficult bosses. In this run, the author abuses boss weaknesses to the extreme by carefully switching Gargoyle forms as necessary. In addition, heavy luck manipulation was used during several encounters to make the otherwise troublesome boss fights look easier than a play through of Barney's Hide and Seek.

Earthbound is a great RPG, designed by Shigesato Itoi in 1994-1995, and is also known by the name Mother 2.

It is best described as "random", in a good way. The game has a great emphasis on a humor, and indeed many things in the game are almost caricatured, from subplots to characters. It also has a versatile soundtrack.

Our description for the previous movie stated, "Although this being a speedrun (tool-assisted at that), most of the plot of the game is intact...". This time around, not so much. Thanks to some collision detection bugs, including one that shows that the Skip Sandwich is a fitting name for the item in ways the developers never intended, the author is able to move around the game's areas freely, completing the bare minimum number of tasks needed to keep the final battle from locking up.

Also unlike the previous movie, this one does use a death as a shortcut. However, the teddy bear survives this time around.

Family Feud (1993) follows the premise of the American TV show of the same name. Two families are pit against each other in a contest aimed at guessing the results of a public survey. The first family member to press a button and give a concise answer that happens to be on the survey, earns points. The last round allows both families to list several of the existing survey answers in a very short time period.

Heisanevilgenius's family, The As, ignores all that and goes with elaborate and utter nonsense instead… only to find the host accepting their answers as correct. The other family, The Halls, doesn't even get the chance to insert a word, proving the racial prejudice of the host. Watch the game and see for yourself.

Note: Some answers contain coarse language.

Final Fantasy IV (renamed to Final Fantasy II in North-American publication) was a revolution to the RPG genre. It was the first to introduce the active battle system, among many other redeeming qualities.

This movie plays through the game in a mere 2 hours, 53 minutes and 14 seconds. It aims for real time, but has a secondary goal of lowest in-game time when that does not incur an expense in real time. The in-game completion time is 1:59:28.

The author also included many easter eggs, or surprise occurrences, throughout the movie. These have been detailed in the author's comments. We recommend reading the comments regarding this movie.

Note: This movie resets the game console a few times, first saving the game and then loading it, so to watch it on an emulator, you will need an emulator that supports recording the console resets.

This movie was made with the original English-language version. It was also encoded with the Action Replay code 0495DCFF, which keeps the music volume from decreasing while the game is paused. This greatly reduces the annoyance factor of constant pausing during battles, which is done to save time.

Final Fantasy V is probably the least known of the Final Fantasy series on the SNES, because it was never published in the USA.

This movie plays through the game in three and a half hours. We recommend reading the author’s comments regarding this movie to understand the manipulation used.

The boss battles, including the last boss, might be somewhat anticlimactic in this movie due to the use of a one-hit-kill spell (L5 Doom) which was made to work by varying means in each battle.

Note: Because this game was never released in the USA and our rules regarding fan translations are a bit strict, all text in this movie is in Japanese. However, we may release English subtitles for this movie soon.

Final Fantasy VI (renamed to Final Fantasy III in North-American publication) is arguably the most famous RPG on the SNES console. It is very much different from Mystic Quest, in more aspects than should be counted here.

This movie plays through the game in little over 4 hours by the means of advanced analysis of the game engine, and the abuse of certain game errors/features that give the ability to one-hit-knock-out even the strongest enemies ― most prominently (but not only) the Joker Doom lore from Setzer’s slot machine.

A glitch involving Relm’s sketch ability was not used in this run. It is highly questionable whether or not this glitch can actually be used to save time. Also the glitch cannot be performed on this version of the ROM.

The boss battles, including the last boss, might be somewhat anticlimactic in this movie due to the unusual attack technique, but besides being a very nice timeattack/TAS record, the movie is a nice trip down the memory lane for those who have played this game, and a graphically and especially musically pleasing experience for even those who haven't. This movie was made with the English-language version.

We recommend reading the author’s comments regarding this movie.

Goof Troop (1993) is a cheerful puzzle game based on Disney show of the same name. The gameplay is somewhat similar to NES Legend of Zelda with its maze-like map filled with one-screen rooms, except this time the emphasis on puzzles is stronger, and you can play in co-op.

In this movie the authors control two characters (Goofy and Max) simultaneously. This allows for a good deal of team work as one character can go get an item while the other heads for the exit. When there is no multi-tasking to do, the authors do a good job performing antics with one or both of the characters.

This is a nearly 4 minute improvement over Frenom's previous movie. Improvements come from new tricks, better teamwork, luck manipulation and optimized movements.

As you might know, Konami realised they went a little overboard with the difficulty of the arcade version of Gradius III, so the SNES port got noticeably easier (and laggier). However, it still remains one of the hardest and most unforgiving shoot 'em ups released in its era.

This is Cpadolf's take at the shmupping carnage, resulting in a significant improvement in both speed and style over the previous movie by Krocketneo. In total, 2 minutes 53 seconds are saved thanks to lag reduction and faster boss fights. The author also kills a greater percentage of enemies (still not fully 100%, though — read the comments for more details).

The game is completed in Arcade mode (still a far cry from the actual arcade game), which is accessed by tapping A on the main menu screen. It is strongly recommended to read the congratulatory text appearing after the end credits. ;)

Inspector Gadget is a cartoon series featuring a bumbling cyborg, his clever niece Penny and her super intelligent dog Brain. Despite his many useful abilities like helicoptering and a hand that comes out of his head, the Inspector must constantly rely upon Penny and Brain to defeat his arch-nemesis Dr. Claw week after week. However, in this game he must save Penny from several kidnappings without such aid. In another major departure from the television series, Dr. Claw's face is shown briefly.

The author abuses Inpector Gadget's gadgets to do things clearly not intended by the game designers. Whether floating through stages or grappling with his head-hand, large sections are skipped and bosses dispatched expeditiously.

Kirby is a spherical character, so naturally it makes sense that he should be whacked around like a golf ball. A ball that can absorb the powers of enemies and use them to his advantage, of course!

This run aims for best score, then fastest time. A lot of hole-in-ones are scored, even at great time expense.

Note that there is a second series of courses which are similar to the original set. These are played as well for sport, before attacking the final boss and winning.

Both this run and the short version use a wobbling trick in order to make Link walk a bit faster. The execution of this maneuver requires the usage of a controller that allows the player to press Up+Down simultaneously (such as, in this case, a modified Snes9x's controller). This game is about a man named Stanley Ippkiss, who finds a powerful mask known as The Mask. However evil has also become aware of this and kidnaps his girlfriend in order to obtain it.

Originally thought to be an April Fools joke, it turns out that Capcom really did hide a one-hit-kills weapon in Mega Man X. That platform in Armored Armadillo's stage always did seem a little strange.

Unlike the later games, collecting the Hadoken is much more time consuming compared to the ability to obliterate the mandatory Reploid rematches and fortress bosses. Nevertheless this run is still faster than the first any% run ever published.

Since moving to the SNES 16-bit land, Mega Man has taken the secret identity X, but everyone knows it's still him because he's the only blue robot who shoots three pellets at a time at other robots and steals their weapons.

FractalFusion takes the game apart with a new route, new strategies, nasty bugs and more optimal movements.

For extra curiosity, there is a page "Mega Man X Tricks" that explains some of the tricks that are and/or can be used in the X series games.

Mega Man X2 makes a particularly interesting run as there are many weapons that can be used to increase mobility.

Unlike the other movie, in this, FractalFusion does not collect any of X's upgrades, but does rescue Zero. The bosses near the end are no longer defeated in a single hit, showing off more of their AI.

Due to the items collected, there is an easter egg at the end.

Mega Man X2 makes a particularly interesting run as there are many weapons that can be used to increase mobility. These include a grappling hook, a fast mid-air dash and a weapon that can transform enemies into platforms. The authors take special care to ensure that when there is a situation in which a weapon could help them progress quicker, they make use of it.

This run improves the previous version by about 23 seconds of game-time. The previous run used the Japanese ROM, and the shorter cutscenes in that version make the improvement less apparent.

This movie aims for the fastest time possible. However, because the shōryūken (flame uppercut) used towards the end of the movie saves so much time, and because to get it the authors must first collect 100% of items such as Heart Tanks, Sub Tanks, and Item Capsules, this movie could be seen as a 100% run. Zero Parts are not required for the shōryūken, and thus they are not collected.

If you would like to watch this game played collecting Zero's parts, but not collecting any of X's, see this run.

Like all of the Mortal Kombat games, MKII is about warriors fighting in a tournament for inspecific power and fame. Shang Tsung is chosen for his ability to transform into other characters.

This movie aims to demonstrate as many quirks and fatalities of the game as possible. Examples include two Shang Tsungs with a Raiden child, a headless Reptile eating Kitana's head and a bloody clone of Jax. The AI is also humiliated.

Quoting bobucles's analysis of the game:
Oh, this game is great. I remember that at the beginning, the gun has exactly enough shots to make it past that first door. Shield, big blast, and kill the guards, then the gun runs out. Waste any, and you die. Classic.

You really have to play the game to know just how hard it is. As an example, if you don't hold up at that very first water scene, a tentacle drags you down to your death. Those leeches are fatal, the beast takes alot of practice to get past, you have to rattle your cage free, the first gun fight is very tough, the steam in the pipes is fatal, you can drown, spikes, teeth, tentacles, leaps of faith, and tons of gunfights. The colleseum scene is a puzzle in itself– you better hit the buttons in the right order, or you'll get caught. And you better make it to that control panel at the end, or the guard will kill you. Just like the Sierra games of old, there were a million ways you could die, and only one way to survive. It was truley a great adventure game like no other. And the best part is, there weren't any box puzzles! How many adventure games can you say that about?

Selected comments from the author:
Prince of Persia 2 is one of the most challenging games ever made. Maybe this is because of the terribly imprecise control, the nonsensical puzzles, and the character's amazing inability to survive falling any distance. There are no pits with spikes this time around, apparently there were enough complaints about the ones in the original Prince of Persia, but unfortunately, non-spiky pits are just as deadly as spiky ones, and the new traps are far more sinister.

Pugsley's scavenger hunt is an extremely fast paced game, which makes it difficult. It is made even more difficult by playing on the hardest setting, which gives Pugsley only one single heart, meaning that he dies in one hit. Rockman & Forte (ロックマン&フォルテ), known as Mega Man & Bass in the western world, used to be the last game chronologically released for the original Rockman/Megaman series, until Rockman & Forte Mirai kara no Chōsensha (ロックマン&フォルテ 未来からの挑戦者) was released on the WonderSwan handheld system. This game bears a striking resemblance to Mega Man 8, not only in style, but in excessive graphic detail.

Similarly to Mega Man X4, the player has the option to choose one of two characters to play through. In this run, Forte is chosen.

FractalFusion takes apart the game with some glitches that allow Forte to zip around in walls. This run is 5:23 faster than the previous run, mostly due to an item called Counter Attacker (Cost Attack in Mega Man & Bass GBA) that allows more damage to a boss if Forte is low on health. This also explains why Forte takes much damage throughout the run. Read the author's comments for more details.

Note: This movie contains a death. It is intentional, and saves time.

Here we see Rockman destroy Dr. Wily's army yet again, only this time on the SNES. You would think poor old Wily would learn from his past 6 mistakes, however this isn't so. On the up-side, we get another superb TAS of this famous series.

This is an improvement of approximately 71 seconds of in-game time, some of which comes from bug exploitation.

This version plays on the Japanese version of Rockman 7 whereas the previous version played on the North American version. This change affects times outside of the player's control, but still gets counted towards the movie's length.

Shapeshifting dogs. Evil robots. Alchemy. Cheesy B movie references. These are all par for the course in Secret of Evermore, a very loose "sequel" to Secret of Mana. The story follows a boy that is thrust into a virtual world and finds himself with no immediate means to escape. As the boy travels, the geography changes to reflect certain eras of real-life history, adding a unique aspect to the game.

Skyblazer (1994) is a relatively obscure gem of a platformer released for SNES, featuring quite decent music and visuals among other things.

Following the game's truly original plot, Sky, a cocky young hero, has to free a princess sorceress kidnapped by an evil deity Ashura. In order to do so, he must traverse a non-linear world, collecting various spells, abilities, and powerups on his way. Helping him is eloquently named Old Man, who teaches young Sky to memorize patterns, just after delivering another insult.

Soul Blazer is an RPG made by Enix, and is considered to be somewhat related to its predecessor, ActRaiser. The main character in this game is an angel sent to destroy invading monsters and released the captured souls of innocent people.

In this series, every action in the monster lairs directly affects the non-combat areas, and vice-versa. That being said, much planning was needed for this run.

The ending is very long and requires user input, so the movie's length is about 13 minutes longer than what might be considered "winning the game."

One of those hard-to-emulate games because of the hardware assistance provided on the actual cartridge, Star Fox is a well-known 3D shooter. Avoiding obstacles can be tricky on the digital directional pad, so some of the stunts seen are impressive to anyone who knows how hard this game can be.

Emulation of this game is not correct. Lag present on the SNES is not represented in this run. Expect the speed to be higher than actually seen on a real console. For this reason, the audio track lags severely behind the rest of the run. As a result, some of the bosses can be defeated before the boss music begins.

Tri-Ace's Star Ocean 1 is a RPG game similar to Namco's Tales of Phantasia or Square's Final Fantasy VI.

Because it was only released in Japan, and the first almost-complete fan translation of the game was finished only a few years ago, this game isn't well known in western countries. Moreover, it has only been supported by SNES emulators for a short time, due to a graphics compression chip used in the game to fit the huge amount of beautiful graphics into the 6 MB ROM chip.

This is a tool-assisted speedrun of the Japanese version (the rules of the TASvideos site forbid the use of fan-translations when making speedruns).

We are sorry for the broken speech in the game intro. This is an emulation glitch. (Yes, the game actually includes English dialogue, which coincidentally has an identical twin in Star Trek.)

For a guide of the strategy used in this run, please read the author's comments.

As usual with RPG runs, we recommend everyone to first play through this game before watching the movie. It will normally take a few days of time to complete the game once ― a few months to uncover all the features: secret characters and abilities and items. Beware, it's fun, and addictive.

The player controls two characters alone and manages to complete the game very quickly due to exploiting the very long invulnerability periods at the beginning of every stage. Actually, the only places where you can see the characters becoming vulnerable are the boss battles!

When played at full speed Super Bomberman 2 is a straightforward action game, but if it's played in slow motion, it becomes an extremely tactical puzzle game. The author of this movie uses several tactics that are difficult to understand if one is watching the movie at full speed. These include setting up chain reactions and clearing up the end of the level before even reaching it. To get a better grasp of the techniques used, read the author's comments.

Super Gussun Oyoyo is a puzzle game best described as a mixture of Lemmings and Tetris. Two treasure hunters named Gussun and Oyoyo are exploring a dungeon when an earthquake occurs, causing the dungeon to begin sinking. The player controls blocks akin to Tetris pieces, leading Gussun to the dungeon exit before it submerges completely.

This run starts from stage 21, the latest possible stage that the game allows one to start on.

Publisher's note: There is a glitch in the sound between stage 30 and 32 inclusive which is a result of the run itself, and not of the encoding.

The Lost Levels is the remake of the game released in Japan as Super Mario Bros 2; it is an exercise in Fake Difficulty, containing very difficult jumps, many enemies, problematic terrain, poisonous mushrooms, and, at worst, koopa jumps over walls or across pits. Most of it is senseless rehashing of elements in places where they don't belong (like amateur hacks). It's so difficult to beat that Nintendo of America released a wholly different game given a Mario theme as Super Mario Bros 2.

Of all the games in Super Mario All-Stars, it's the only one in the set that saves your progress at individual levels rather than the start of worlds. It's that bad.

This movie, about 7 seconds faster than the previous, plays all levels, including the secret world 9, and extremely difficult A through D worlds.

Super Mario Kart is the first in a popular series of games starring the Mario cast racing go-karts. This run aims to get record times in all tracks at 150cc difficulty. This is achieved mostly by jumping straight into walls, bottomless pits, and lava, among many other things. Mushrooms are also used frequently due to their mysteriously friction-free propulsion powers. A high amount of wall-bouncing is required.

Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island is a vibrant, colorful and fun game that stars the popular Yoshi.

We recommend reading the author's comments, because there's a lot more to this movie than meets the eye, even though the movie is very colourful, actionpacked and full with entertaining tricks and maneuvers.
In other words, the very essence we tool-assisted speedrun movie makers enjoy. :)

Technically, the game is very exceptional on SNES due to its use of the SuperFX chip. The chip allows for many cool special effects that are otherwise impossible on SNES.

If you liked this but want even more Yoshi craziness, be sure to check out the warped completion.

This movie features a perfect example of what can occur when TASers will go to any extreme to sequence break a long game. Very little that is recognizable remains. Cpadolf forgoes key items, yet bothers to collect the X-Ray scope, an item normally useless to an experienced Super Metroid player.

With the use of X-Ray Scope to get out of the rooms' bounds, some non-trivial physics abuse, and esoteric RAM data manipulation via dying in a certain room, the amount of tasks Samus usually has to do on Zebes has been cut to almost nothing. No boss is ever fought in this TAS, and even Mother Brain is skipped completely. The in-game completion time is 00:12. Only 6% of the items are collected.

This is an improvement of 1537 real-time frames, or 1379 in-game frames, over the previous glitched any% run. The main improvement comes from a new method of skipping the cutscene with the big metroid, although the author found many other improvements along the way.

Super R•Type (1991) is the 4th game of the classic R•Type series of arcade shooters, whose distinct gameplay and level design inspired numerous developers to create clones and various look-alikes. However, this particular installment isn't considered canon, and is in fact an SNES-exclusive semi-port of the first two R•Type games combined in one.

In a nutshell, the series' plot is about the evil Bydo empire, which is a highly developed alien lifeform with hivemind mentality (Borg, Zerg, etc.). The player pilots a spacecraft on a mission to destroy it. The craft itself has a force — an indestructible (yet living!) orb pod that can be used for both bullet absorption and offensive action. The core gameplay thus boils down to two things: memorization (all R•Type games are very unforgiving, and require the player to learn the paths thoroughly to succeed) and tactical use of the force orb to protect the ship and do high damage to enemies.

The author of this TAS, however, opted for playing around with enemies and killing most of them with the force orb. Don't try this in realtime. (Really, don't.)
Other than that, the movie uses a password to access the second loop's difficulty level ("PRO") without having to beat the game twice. It still doesn't get the good ending, though.

The level of play is far and above what any human could do in real-time on this game.

This is an 8 second improvement over Acmlm's previous movie.

This movie was played on Japanese version of Tetris Attack called Panel De Pon.

In this version, the scoring system works a bit differently, so instead of doing many combos in a chain as the US version movie does, a few very large combos help reaching the goal about 35 seconds faster, achieving it at 0'29 by ingame time.

There are no other differences between the two versions.

In a normal playthrough, this game is quite long. You must save four family members then progress to the final area to complete the game.

However, the authors use a glitch to skip directly to the final area, skipping 4/5ths of the game; in addition, several new glitches allow more of the final area to be skipped, saving 22.9 seconds over the previous run.

U.N. Squadron (1989) is a nice looking horizontal shoot-em-up loosely based on manga & anime series named Area 88 (which is also the name this game was released with in Japan), about a brave young pilot Shin Kazama and his experiences at a mercenary airforce base. Here you see Shin mercilessly slaughtering everything in his sight, and stuffing the bosses full with the heaviest artillery available — of course, not forgetting the usual suicidal dancing around the bullets in the meantime.

Surprisingly, the author started working on this video over 2.5 years before the submission, which makes it one of TASvideos's longest projects to date.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is one of the most diverse games of the series in terms of characters and play modes.

This little-known Japanese wire-action platformer, with a very well-made rubber wire physics simulating engine, sports a schoolgirl setting out to rid the world of giant mutant fish.

The game is very easy to win, but very difficult to play (try it). This video demonstrates one of the fastest paths to the ending, including quite a few almost impossible maneuvers ― whether playing tool-assisted or not.

This video is a 7 seconds improvement to the previous version.

This game is about a schoolgirl with a bag of holding and a rubber fishing line setting out to rid the world of giant mutant fish.

This video plays the longest path of the game having only two bosses, aka. Bob's path, which you can find at the Umihara Kawase Field Map page.

The Umihara Kawase page has more information about this game.

The boss levels are quite long in this movie ― they can't really be sped up, but the author of the movie has done his best to make it worth watching.

It's the X-Men, and they're out to stop Magneto and whoever else is bad.

This game stars five of the X-men: Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, and Psylocke. (Professor X is probably coaching them from a safe place, like he always does.) Each member has their own level to complete, but anyone can be chosen to play the remaining levels. When Merlin was a young Sokoban man, he enjoyed life through minecart-surfing, skin-diving and burrow-crawling. This game has many qualities that make it a good candidate for TASing. These include nice and soft graphics, music that's not painful to listen to and, of course, a very speedy main character.

The game is not meant to be quite as straightforward as it would seem by watching this movie, as the author takes many shortcuts that require extremely precise jumping. A downside to this game is that the bosses sometimes have long invulnerability periods, meaning that Zero has to wait a bit in-between hits and cannot spam the bosses with 20 hits per second.

This is an improvement of well over one and a half minutes due to better optimizations, new shortcuts and tricks

Zombie slaying in the Zelda perspective. Reminds a bit of Fester's Quest, but is much more fun.
