This is a 2 players movie of Altered Beast, 28.26 seconds (1696 frames) faster than Dan's 1 player version.
It abuses a programming error so that you only need to see the transformation once per level (normally, you need to see it twice on 2 players). Without this alone, a 2 player run would be about 15 seconds slower (not counting other improvements) compared to a 1 player run, because of having to see both players transform.

Bosses memory addresses (HP):

  • 00FFE365 = 1st, 4th and 5th boss
  • 00FFE3A5 = 2nd boss
  • 00FFE377 = 3rd boss

adelikat: The verdict is "accepted for publication". The movie should have used the hardest difficulty setting by using B+Start at the title screen. An improved movie that does not use this will be rejected. As a result, an "improved" movie will be longer than this submission.
Also, I am encoding this movie.

There should just be a warning for offensive sexual content or something.
Umm, there is no actual sexual (let alone offensive) content in this movie, at least not more than in the game itself. If you want it not to be a big deal, don't mention anything about it in the description, movie or the submission message whatsoever (a mistake FODA carelessly made when discussing the production of this movie and when writing the submission text). Informing viewer of certain part/aspect of a given content makes him pay double attention to the instances of these scenes/aspects, which normally wouldn't catch that much (or sometimes at all) attention and thus wouldn't start a big morality debate.

This quote is why we use the word 'homophobia'. Your post treats homosexuality like a disease, and there really is no other word I could think of better to describe it, even if there is a smiley face in there.

That's an even better idea.

I don't want my children watching furry porn, does it mean I hate people who enjoy furries?
No.

DrJones probably made a typo. Homophia is "an irrational fear of homosexuals." http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=define%3Ahomophobia Homophobic is "prejudice against homosexual people." http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:homophobic&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

Just out of mere curiousity, if a good run of Ring King was made that went into the second round, would that be debated as to whether it should be posted up or not? I do dig this movie though, for the improvement alone.

I was too busy reading poetry whilst eating scones and missed out on this whole argument. I must agree with Sir Bisquit. This puerile humour is such rubbish and balderdash. I scoff at it. Pah! This sort of thing really steams my monocle. I say. Quite. Now if you'll excuse me, I must run off to my Mensa meeting, and if anyone needs me after that, I'll be at my computer reading the entire archives of xkcd. (voted yes)

Absolutely hilarious. And please, children wouldn't even understand what FODA was trying to portray. If they have a dog they've no doubt seen the same thing rendered before them more vividly than two sprites from a crap Genesis game could ever hope to accomplish.
What's a man like me supposed to do with all this extra savoir-faire?

I should probably clarify, that whatever my stance is about homosexuality, it has no relevance to this discussion. I am not arguing basing on that view. And I'm not a sextalk'o'phobe either. When it's a giggling topic, LOOK THOSE ANIMALS ARE FUCKING EACH OTHERS LOLOLOL, it is out of proportion and annoying (and immature).
I can sympathize with this; I've had a community fall into the same kind of "downward spiral" because of some feuding that got out of hand. I just think you're too proactive. We aren't going to devolve into a pack of braying jackasses just because somebody mentions teh buttsecks.

I'm having a hard time determining if the proper combonation is "suprise buttsecks/ohnoz teh drama!" or "ohnoz teh buttsecks/suprise drama!", but that's another story for another day. In this case, I'm actually amused that something like this managed to stir up such a discussion. (Will watch submission later. Maybe when I am not doing anything Gens would foul up.)

I have three points.
  1. The people are giggling in response to something that was meant to be humorous.
  2. I believe everyone is aware of the fact that the humor is somewhat immature. Even if they found it funny.
  3. I think that there is a fair amount of difference in the maturity levels of making an immature joke, and simply admittng that you were entertained by it.
In light of these three points, I would suggest that the initial reaction on part of this site's administrator may have been more out of proportion than the discussion in this thread. In any case, it seems to have been counterproductive, as it has increased the discussion, rather than diminishing it. It also seems the maturity level of the users dropped, as they were angered and annoyed by the perception of high-handedness.[/list]

As a 14-year-old, I can shed a bit of light on the "kids-scarred-forever" point. I've seen several R-rated movies, for gore, nudity, etc. I believe the first time I saw a movie rated 14A was when I was 6, and the first R-rated movie was when I was 12. I won't be horrified by two badly animated bear rapidly going from one sprite to another while near each other. About the movie itself: It was a good improvement, that one fight where they were tigers looked unoptimized because one was sitting there, but otherwise very entertaining.

He was sitting because he was useless, there wasn't really anything to do about it. The boss can't take damage even if you attack him. That's the same for all bosses, but that one has a lot of waiting time, while others don't. thanks for watching!

Phil: that was rude and uncalled for. Chamale's perspective is important here precisely because he is still a child.

Upthorn: If you can't differenciate seriousness with humor then it tightens my opinion that sex is NOT humor and certainly not for children.

By writing "So go to bed, it's late...", it is obvious it is not serious. Not serious = joke. It doesn't mean it is a good joke but still...

Hilarious game and entertaining run. I had very low expectations and I was well entertained. If 2-player mode for such a game makes it so fun to watch, maybe I should TAS a 2-player autoscroller worth 40+ minutes. Or not. Yes vote. First time watcher of this game, by the way.

I enjoyed the run, and completely missed the whole "omg bears having sex" part until I saw the discussion here. I voted yes, because I was entertained by the skill of the TASing and it was an improvement over a previous movie.
