Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Bizhawk 1.11.1
  • Takes damage to save time

Comments

Not an hard game, but still something good for a run! The levels are very linear, but still the are some tricks to gain a bit of time:
  • Jumping on enemy makes you stop your movement for a brief moment, it's faster to avoid them, except for the ones carrying a potion
  • Moving and falling platform slow you down, where is possible it's better take damage from lava, brambles or spike
  • Boost from the green potion, fan and the shooting flower can be maintained as long as you continue to go in that direction. In the water level,in some points the fan can actualy boost you, but you must not press any direction.
  • Loosing the light helmets and throwing exploding gift completely blocks any actions. The only possible avoidable helmet is the first one.

This was... mildly entertaining, I guess. There were a few nice sections to break the monotony (e.g. the first snow level), but it's a Meh from me. @Whoever publishes this: Would it be possible to produce an encode with loading screens removed? I feel that they detract from the run.

This run is not optimal. I tried to make a TAS of the first level, mine is 50 frames faster than yours, and in some areas you don't use fastest strats, such as Gargamel fight, where you don't need to jump on the enemy to hit Garagmel, a precise jump and correct timing to throw the present are enough I think I will TAS this game, and an optimal run should be something like 17:XX.XX Consequently, voting no. Well.... If I find where to go to vote >.<' (Can someone help me to find ?)

You need to post more before being able to vote.

I came here thinking this port might have similarities to the GB/NES/Game Gear versions but I guess not. It looks like a cool game still. Those loading screens at the start though.. I lost count quickly.

Don't know if it's only my problem, but it desync after half level. Anyway, you're right, I've already redone the first 3 levels and found some improvements. Cancelling this submission and redoing it, going to post in the PSX forum a WIP of the new TAS
