Comments

Warning! This movie fails to beat the current published input time, due to playing on the new emulator, Bizhawk. According to Spikestuff, this movie is 32 frames faster over the cancelled PCSX movie. Comparing to the published run, this movie is 02:08.31 faster than the published run. This TAS has been going for quite some time now and Dooty has been stuck with a missing ring since 2014. In October 2015, I discovered a way to bring the ring back to life, by simply reseting the screen closer to the problem. There are also a lot of changes done since the previous published run to speed things up along. Since 2014, a new trick called the Multiple Backwards Jump was discovered by Shunpuk. Dooty managed to find ways on accessing secret areas faster. Although this saved some time, this caused the missing ring to disappear. Every rescue has been improved over the published run. I hope you all enjoy my run and I will look forward to the improvements in the Hourglass emulator so I will be able to TAS New 'n' Tasty.

Other comments

I would like to thank Dooty for all his efforts in trying to TAS this update which he didn't quite succeed. I need to thank once again, Sligfantry (for finding the DDg and the Stop 'n' Turn and Backwards Jump Glitch), Yartitana (for finding the Quick Portal Closure glitch which was the reason for making this update) and Shunpuk for finding the Multiple Backwards Jump glitch which make our run faster on PCSX but slightly slower on Bizhawk due to accurate loading times.

adelikat: Replaced movie file with one that trimmed 408 frames of unnecessary empty input from the end of the movie.
Samlaptop: Hope a judge would like to judge this soon.
Samsara: Yeah, okay.
Samsara: Accepting as an improvement to the published run.
Spikestuff: I don't know why I'm publishing this, but I do know I need to get this out before both Bubsy and Domino... and this is coming from the publisher with the second slowest internet... Publishing.
Spikestuff: Dangit feos, I know you said it in IRC, but (sends the rest in a message), blerpy, derpy, nerpy. QUACK
feos: Publishing.

Now someone will need to replace the input file with Spike's fix and co-author if necessary.

That won't be necessary. He simply removed empty input from the end of the movie (something that you should get in the habit of doing)
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

So, I did some ram search digging, just to a compatible timer for comparing the PCSX-rr and the Octoshock TAS. I found 5 values, 3 of them are useful, 2 of them is overal with the emulator, in different ways... boo. Out of the 3 that are useful, 1 of them is the true winner. The address which I say is the most useful is: 8213C This address ignores every transition by pausing the value. Well, what's the time Mr. Spike? PCSX-rr: 92666 (92604 end of input) - 349 = 92317 (92255) PSHawk: 92635 (92573 end of input) - 350 = 92285 (92223) Yes, that means your menuing was off, but whatever, that value gets ignored. So, this is an improvement of 32 frames.

The new in-game time is now: 51:15. The published run was at 53:15 before the last frame of input.
According to spikestuff, this movie is 32 frames faster over the current published run.
These 2 statements seem mismatched. Spikestuff was comparing to the cancelled submission, not the published one. Anyway, I'm glad the missing ring riddle is finally solved!

Yeah. It was a nice surprise for me to find a simple fix for that ring.

I will make the final YouTube encode for this if it gets accepted. I promise to feos that I will not mess anything up this time. I will check the video before uploading it to my YouTube channel. Update 2: I can even make the video unlisted and feos can check to make sure that the quality is good before I make it public.

Why is it so important for you to keep your encode published? Monetized views? I doubt, as I already stated earlier. I don't want to go through that hell again and teach you do things properly, because encoding bizhawk's psx is not as simple as you think. If you want something linked from the publication on your channel, make an encode with lua drawings probably, stuff like that., to at least be able to offer something new to the viewer.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

The one thing I find difficult encoding on bizhawk is the bios screens. VirtualDub doesn't want to append the files because they are in a different resolution o the recommended setting for creating segmented AVI.

No, you, Sam"tastic", shush. There are other TASes that are created by other users that have higher priority than yours right now. These TASes have been sitting in the workbench longer than yours.

Some people just tend to get really, inexplicably upset over the most trivial things. Let's not bring personal matters into submission threads, kay? Both of y'all need to nip this in the bud before it flies out of proportion.

Entertaining run, from beginning to the end. The enemies looked really dumb sometimes. And other times, Abe seems invincible and without a hitbox area. Well done and yes vote!

When I do the backwards jump in the first part of rupturefarms. Then, when I pull the lever in rupturefarms 2, that's where something glitchy happens.
