This run is 3 seconds faster than the previous submission. All the time comes through frame shaving. I have decided to do Whompas Fortress at first. There are many parts which where difficult to make like the star behind the gate, Dire Dire Docks (I hate the levels where you can swim) and other.
Thanks to all and a BIG THX to AKA

Bisqwit: Game is "Super Mario 64", "USA version"; not "USA Super Mario 64", "any version". Changed submission headers as such.
Also, accepting.
Also, processing.

I've just started watching this... I found it unexpected that you take the time to select Continue and Don't Save after every star.

I remember someone saying it was faster... Anyway, I'm enjoying the apparent "war" between AKA and Rikku to get the lowest time... keep it up, competition is the key to optimization. Yes vote, btw.

Great Job, it looks tight. Yes, I've found that it's faster to "not save" while I was recording Tall Tall Mountain.

Although it's tough to spot the improvements from the latest run, other than the zipping up the pole glitch, I vote yes. I particularly enjoyed the consistency of the camera angles in this run.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of this game's engine, so I can't judge its perfection... but I see that a lot has improved since the last 16 star run I watched. I really enjoyed it. I really liked the dramatic camera angle you had for a while in the 2nd bowser stage.

I managed to notice most of the improvements although they only save small amount of time, but they all add up in the end, it although should be noted that the time in my other submisson is wrong it should say 26:98 and not 27:98. Voting yes becuase of its a good improvement over an already highly optimized run, but I noticed two mistakes 1. You save after collecting the bowser star 2. Penguin star could have been improved

Nice movie once again. I liked the camera angles better than AKA's submission, even though the game play is almost identical. Gonna vote yes. You guys should really look into finding a new route or getting into bowser 2 without mips before making another run. I like competition but I feel there are going to be new routes discovered. AKA, you should cancel your submission. Otherwise it will be rejected, a similar thing happened to me once when I submitted a movie. It is better to have a canceled movie than a rejected one in your portfolio.

Damn, I don't remember if I've ever seen such heated competition occurring for such an entertaining game before. It's hardly arguable that watching SM64 wars is better than watching Donkey Kong, Monopoly or SMB1 wars. EDIT: Also, voting yes and nominating for a star.

yes vote. back and forth, each submission better than the last. I was most impressed by the tiny improvements you made that I was able to detect, and your camera angles were much better.

Wow I'm surprised you managed to implement the Bowser 2 shortcut so fast, unless you were already working on it when the trick was discovered. Yes.

We have come a long way since Spezzafer submitted the first Mario N64 run and I strongly admire AKA's and Rikku's aim for perfection. Congratulations Rikku, you got yourself a yes vote.

Camera angles were nice. Run was nice. Nothing really useful to say other than "voting yes" :)

Is the avi supposed to feature a slight visual pause during transitions?

I noticed that. Weird. That was awesome, great work. Each new version of this just gets more and more badass.

the pauses are most likely due to a glitch in the emulators some what accurate emulation.
