Gunstar Heroes is one of the first games of Sega Genesis from Treasure. It´s a Combo of 3rd Person Shooter and Beat´em up. An Exellent game, nice engine.

Game objectives

  • gens_movie_9j
  • Beat the game faster as posible in Expert Mode
  • Beat the game with No Damage from anything

Comments

  • First at all, I beat the the Game in 34 minutes (I guess), the 41 mins is for end the movie in the last frame of the credits... To now on later videos, I´ll end the movies in the last action frame =)
  • I use the guided weapon plus the flamethrower, the mixed weapon is a manual guided flame, but need a Star Platinum* presition. Frame by Frame is too easy to control it, and you can do Much damage and kill Bosses in seconds.
(Star Platinum* is a Stand of a character from a Manga named JoJo Bizarre adventure, and has a God presition, faster than light, stronger than anything, and stop time 5 seconds)

Other comments

  • In the first stage I slide down the Pink to get down and block the Hitman.
  • In the The second (Black stage in my order) i used a glitch to get in the top of the Jelly Boss (sorry About forgot the names), and in the Stage of the Smash Daisaku is the boss, another glitch when i uses the command of the Running with auto-guard and get in the top of a barrel to avoid shoot all enemies.
  • The stage of space ship is awesome, and before the Seven Force fight, I don´t kill anything, but avoid all close to the hit box of the ship.
  • Mmmmm... In the first fight against Seven Force, in Eagle Force, I Stop Firing 2 times to save me (1 second or les in total). The 2nd fight against Seven Force the same with Tails Force. And finaly in the final battle with Golden Silver I avoid one attack to take No Damage, but, less than a second.
Another thing I remember, skip the Bosses Name and atack database... I don´t skip it for the people what don´t know the game.
This is my firs time submiting a TAS, so sorry for my rusty english.. Enjoy it!!

adelikat: Rejecting because this movie starts from a savestate. Also for being about 5 minutes slower than the published movie

We have an existing publication using two players on the hardest difficulty that is nearly six minutes faster than your submission. Why should this one be accepted as well?

Fix your movie to end at the same time as the published movie, PM me a link to that submission file, and I'll update this.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but it also seems we have a duplicate submission for this. It looks like GTimeKiller didn't notice how to edit the submission comments, so another new submission was created with different comments. In any case, I'm interested in seeing these glitches, especially if they're new compared to the published run.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. He didn't realize it because the site throws an error when you submit. It just happens that it submits before throwing the error. I made the same mistake with transformers. He doesn't need to worry about the other one, I'll delete when I can. And of course we will need to get that bug fixed asap.

not only is it slower than the 2 player movie, but it's slower than the 1 player movie that was done 5 years ago by 9 minutes.

You'll probably also want to skip the bossfight intro-texts in any future revisions; you may note on here that the RPG runs absolutely blaze through the text as fast as possible--if you want to know the story, the community seems to hold a consensus, you can play the game yourself for goals other than speediness.

The 2P video kills the boss at 35:32; the movie ends at 39:00 (with about five seconds' worth of "Produced by Treasure" sitting on the screen). Of course, you can sit at the end there as long as you like... Edit: to clarify, by "the movie ends at 39:00", I mean the encoding ends there. The input ends when the boss is killed.

Also 3000 rerecords is low for this game. If you want to beat my movie. I can give you hints. Drop by the thread. There may be more improvement possible than you might think, especially if you go for pure speed. I can't watch this since it asks for a savestate. Did you start from clear SRAM?

Satoryu, this run of the game is on Expert mode. Jackic's run was normal difficulty. Though I also can't watch this run because it seems to require a savestate.

i'm aware of that. but does the difficulty change really result in about 2 minutes of difference? provided his estimate of 34 minutes is correct, of course. which based on Derakon's calculations, that's probably not so.
