Once upon a time, I played the balls off of this game, but 15 years apart has left me with a lot of questions regarding the significance of certain elements. I enjoyed watching the new time attack, but I don't understand why certain choices were made. [1] What's the point of collecting all those hearts? Is it like experience points? [2] I understand using the hammers to free flying soldiers, who then help you fight the boss. But if the boss kills them in a flash, do you really need to free them at all? [3] I know what the bow and the fire do, but what's the point of that wand? [4] I remember a "good" ending where Pit turns into a tall, good-looking dude. How do you get the good ending?

1. In the levels where I get strength upgrades, I need a certain amount of "points", or else he won't give it to me. You get these points by collecting hearts, killing enemies, and entering chambers and you lose them by taking damage and shooting arrows. 2.Well, kind of. I'm not entirely sure if those hurt or helped. Except for that last one, they took less than a second to get, but the ones that survived and hit him did a lot more damage than I did. In the later levels, I was doing just as much damage as them so there really was no point in getting them. 3. Well actually, I got that for no purpose. Getting the first two upgrades only slowed me down. I got them because it was cool killing enemies from far away and two with one shot. The "wand" just has crystals that surround you and do damage to nearby enemies. It never activated I think because I never got enough life. That is why I got life in two levels, to activate the two weapons. I just got it so I could get a better ending and say that I got all the weapons. 4. For each of these that you do, you get a better ending: -999 hearts -Level 5 strength(you start out with one) -Level 5 HP(I only got four. The problem was the first time I did it, I had enough experince to get the last level, but you can't go up a level on the last stage) -All 3 weapons

I really enjoyed the Kid Icarus run. Very nice. I played it a lot when I was younger. Those immortal squirrels who steal your weapon upgrades and the eggplant throwers must be the most irritating monsters ever.

Yeah, those are annoying. They are called plutons bu the way, and eggplant wizards. Anyway, I'm probably going to redo the game, but not soon.

Time - 25:11 Notes and points of interest: -decided to go ahead and take damage which took almost a whole minute off the run. Took damage for any situation that would waste 2 or more seconds. -took 1 hit on the first boss to make him stand still, in case youre wondering why I did that. -Killed the 3 bosses much faster, and killed them all with the mallet >:) -Gained maximum arrow strengh, finished all rooms in under 10 sec. -found a good use for a platform bug on 2-3. Didnt have to wait for any platforms after that. Saved around 20 sec. -Bought an angel feather in 2-3 for use in 3-2. Saved at least 10 sec. -found a much faster way to kill Medusa without using doubleshots.

It's normal in some games to take hits if it will improve the time like me in Castlevania 3 or some moves that seems unnecessary but in reality it was necessary due to the randomness of some games.

It seemed like you took more hit in Castlevania 3 than actually necessary. But I'll leave it to you to improve it :) (unless I get a sudden inspiration of starting my own.) The unnecessary moves are understandable when explained, but without explanation they look odd and distracting. That's why they should usually be made hidden if possible. I failed to do that in the latest Castlevania movie, although I did it in all the previous versions. Anyway, I liked your Castlevania 3 movie. You really showed to me that I knew nothing about that game :P

I liked especially these. Your movie is being encoded now.

I guess this means that I have to redo mine. :( Would you prefer it if I got all upgrades or not?

I don't care as long as it's faster than this :)

I didn't see any added value in the extra items. Getting them (i.e. getting the required amount of hearts) is just mechanical work. It does make a goal that requires creativity to complete fast, but I think a "game completed fast" is a better goal than "game completed fast with all toys". Debatable. Anyway, your previous movie won't vanish completely, because it was for a different goal - similar to Genisto's Princess-only SMB2 run.

Though - I have to say that I liked Sleepz's overall playing style more, not only because of the goal / total result / glitches.

Okay. I think i will redo it anyway. You're probably right though. Making a long game even longer is not good. I"ll make it shorter. Edit: I just saw the movie. Very nice :) That feather thing and the platform glitch were cool. Too bad I didn't think of that :( Nice job on the bosses. That was much better than me. The only things that I didn't like was the fact that you skipped most enemies. I understand if you skip enemied that will just slow you down, but there were many enemies that were right in front of you and you didn't kill. I know this slows you down where you get exp, but I thought that would have been cooler. The last level you could have also done better. You missed a few enemies you could have killed. Oh, and that mallot thing was kind of stupid. You should have found a statue to destory that took little or no time to get. Very good job though. I really enjoyed it.

I think that when you redo it, you should make it as fast as you can, but still collect all the power-ups\upgrades (I know its possible for you to go faster because I could find parts in that game which look as though you went a little slow). It would seem more interesting to me to see a new video of that instead of seeing you beat Sleepz version by a couple of seconds.

I think timeattacks should be played such that they are - confident - cool but not - berserk - apathetic It's a fine line between those two. Berserk is the one who shoots everything. Apathetic is the one who takes hit even when he could have avoided it without time loss. Confidence shows in that you don't get distracted from your goal. Coolness shows in that you don't hesitate to go the shortest way even if it's full of enemies.

What's wrong with berserk? It looks cool. Btw, sorry sleepz for using your topic :p. I'll continue this discussion on the thread for my game.

Genisto's Super C movie is an example of berserk mode. I don't think it's cool.

After seeing Sleepz movie, I am redoing mine, mostly to: -beat bosses faster -make my jumps more effecient -improve some parts where I wait for platforms Now, the questions is: Should I get all the upgrades? Should I take damage? Should I go "berserk" (as Bisqwit puts it)? If I get the upgrades, it will be slower, but look cooler. If I don't it will be faster, and be really similar to Sleepz version.

Going Berserk isn't cool. I could've done that with KY2:KL because if you hold turbo b button, your character still walks at normal pace and it looks as if you are invincible. Anyone can make a berserk video.

Get all the upgrades, take damage, but don't go berserk. That way it will be different and seem like an upgraded form of your last video.

So how do you define berserk? What enemies should I kill? Those that get in my way? None? All possible?

Kill things that are hard to kill. Avoid things that are hard (but possible) to avoid. All without losing time of course. Just to make it look cooler. :)
