The classic Metal Slug series comes to DS with Metal Slug 7. Although there is only one player this time, this version is notable for allowing the player to keep two weapons and switch freely between them.

The author, mtvf1, completes this game without deaths in a mere 23 minutes and 11 seconds, using Marco.

There is also a version that uses Eri and Tarma. Deaths and continues are used in that version, which is also the only way to switch characters in this game.

This run uses death to switch between Eri and Tarma, and to obtain more grenades. You may also wish to see the run using "Marco" with no deaths.

This run by zk547 uses Eri through all 7 missions without dying. Eri is chosen because of her ability to aim grenades in 8 different directions and receive twice the number of grenades from the bomb/grenade item. The extra grenades become useful throughout the run and make her a lot faster than the other characters, especially in the final mission. Despite not dying at all, this run still manages to beat the previous run in this category by 00:10.11 seconds as well as the Marco run by almost two minutes.

Also, each player has a special advantage compared to the others: for instance, Eri can use more grenades, whereas Tarma does more damage while using a Metal Slug.

This run uses Eri and Tarma, just like mtvf1's first Eri/Tarma run. It improves zk547's deathless run by 01:08.10, despite having to use two continues to switch between Eri and Tarma.
