This is a timeattack at ヒットラーの復活, which is the original (Japanese) version of Bionic Commando.
This is a platform game with a hero that can't jump.
This movie is 3 minutes and 6 seconds faster than the movie of the previous author, Feitclub. It looks really great.
Note: Hitler no Fukkatsu and Bionic Commando are not the same game.
Selected quotes from Feitclub:
Major differences include:
-"HnF" has more enemies in every stage, and more obstacles along the way. For example, there are land mines in Area 7 and giant spiders in some neutral areas.
Also, I believe the patterns of the enemy attack trucks are different, because I seemed to encounter them more often in this game despite using the same route as "BC."
-All references to Nazis and all swastikas were removed from "BC." The evil leader of "the Badds" was re-named "Master-D." Graphically, however, he is undeniably Adolf Hitler in both versions.
This resulted in quite a shock to me as a child!"

Resurrection of Hitler: Top Secret (ヒットラーの復活) is the original (Japanese) version of Bionic Commando. It is a platform game with a hero who can't jump but can quickly latch onto objects with his bionic arm. One can guess from the game's title that the hero's objective is to end the Nazi's efforts to resurrect Adolf Hitler.
This TAS is about 0.5 seconds faster than the previous version; it merely changes some very minor parts.
Note: Hitler no Fukkatsu and Bionic Commando are not the same game. According to Feitclub, major differences include:
  • "HnF" has more enemies in every stage, and more obstacles along the way. For example, there are land mines in Area 7 and giant spiders in some neutral areas. Also, I believe the patterns of the enemy attack trucks are different, because I seemed to encounter them more often in this game despite using the same route as "BC."

The author's submission message was as follows:
I had some decent time off from work this weekend, so I have finally completed my Time Attack on the Japanese version of Bionic Commando, originally titled 「ヒットラーの復活: Top Secret」。"Hitler no fukkatsu," as we've discussed, translates to "Hitler's Resurrection."
As you've mentioned, this version is a little different from Bionic Commando. Major differences include:
  • "HnF" has more enemies in every stage, and more obstacles along the way. For example, there are land mines in Area 7 and giant spiders in some neutral areas. Also, I believe the patterns of the enemy attack trucks is different, because I seemed to encounter them more often in this game despite using the same route as "BC."
  • All references to Nazis and all swastikas were removed from "BC." The evil leader of "the Badds" was re-named "Master-D." Graphically, however, he is undeniably Adolf Hitler in both versions. This resulted in quite a shock to me as a child!
  • "HnF" features a dramatic shortcut in Neutral Area 17, allowing the player to collect all items by beating a Nazi prisoner with the bionic arm. I will experiment with this shortcut in the near future, but for now I wanted to submit an improved time attack WITHOUT using it.
It's up to you whether or not you want to replace my first time attack with this one, or list this separately as a different game. Personally, I would replace it (as this run is faster) but leave the Bionic Commando FMV available for download.

This is a historic movie, submitted and obsoleted before the creation of the database-based (and wiki-based) site engine, before July 2004.
It was inserted to the database in a history revival project by Bisqwit in autumn 2006.
As for the movie itself... Feitclub's first attempt at Bionic Commando. This one uses the USA version. It takes the same route as future versions.

It's been a long time since a Bionic Commando TAS was submitted, but here we at last have a new version.
Note: The previous version was made with the Japanese version, whereas this version is made with the USA version. There was actually a large debate on this site regarding which version should be used -- both versions contain something good and something bad that the other does not. The question is still open, but in the mean time, here is this new movie. In where it matters, it is faster than the previous movie.

This is Cardboard's and JXQ's second contribution to Bionic Commando, this time improved by about 4.5 seconds.

Unlike our any% run of this game, this run collects every non-respawning object. This includes completing every action stage (but not the neutral zones), obtaining every gun, and exposing the secret enemy truck routes to get the helmet item.

This is an improvement of 56.28 seconds over the previous movie, mainly thanks to a new trick in Area 12 where if damage is taken from an enemy at the same frame one would normally take damage from a barrier, one'd pass through the barrier, assuming the player's position is correct.
