I was working hard trying various ways to perfect Maniac Mansion with the meteor police route (best attempt was 9:40), when I discovered a glitch that made the route obsolete. :-) :-(

There is a well-known glitch in the game that can paralyze Edna while a kid is in her room. The programmers tried to prevent this glitch from working on Purple Tentacle. However, Arc demonstrates an oversight by the programmers.

This game has crazy music.

This is the fifth time Arc manages to squeeze seconds, even minutes off the Maniac Mansion completion time. This time the improvement, compared to version 4 (the previous movie) is 81 seconds.

A few versions ago, Arc included a different movie that completes the game in 10:06 and has the hamster scenes - nuking it in the microwave and also giving it back to Ed.

Maniac Mansion (1990) is a unique game that has weird humor and crazy music. It features cutscenes, multiple ways to win, useless items (like Chuck the Plant), and microwavable hamsters. In the storyline, Dave and two of his friends infiltrate the Edison family's mansion in order to rescue Dave's girlfriend. In order to save her, the teens must get access to the inner lab, deal with Purple Tentacle, shut down the ZOM-B-MATIC, and defeat the evil Meteor.

This movie—Arc's seventh TAS of Maniac Mansion—is about 36 seconds faster than the previous attempt. Will the limit ever be reached? Every time a new record is set, it's thought to be final, but then Arc discovers more ways to abuse the game.
