I think it would be nice to encourage people to work on guides in other languages too. Either full guides or just articles focusing on some specific technical aspects to begin with. I'm sure a lot of newbies are hesitant to post questions about some things they don't understand because they're not confident with english (and afraid to not understand the answers given ^^).
That's how I imagine it: Each page that has translations must store them as a special kind of subpages, so that once you put [module:traslations] (which doesn't exist yet), it gives links to translations in the same fashion [module:listsubpages] works. Encouraging people to actually translate stuff is a whole different story. And it lacks official support, like putting translation on actual wiki, unless you count this: http://www.excite-webtl.jp/world/english/web/?wb_url=http://tasvideos.org/&wb_lp=ENJA&wb_dis=

We need to find good examples.

Wiki: TasingGuide Goal: collect all info spread through multiple pages, overlapping each other, to one systematized guide, as was done some years ago with Wiki: EncodingGuide by sgrunt and reinstalled by me: Wiki: EncodingGuide/PublicationManual. What will hopefully be obsoleted by this guide: Wiki: TASHowTo Wiki: Guidelines Wiki: KeepingAnOpenMind Wiki: GenericTips Tools usage was moved to 2 pages: Wiki: TasingGuide/BasicTools Wiki: TasingGuide/AdvancedTools Added a page focusing on how to create art while TASing. Wiki: TasingGuide/TASArt Do not ask to remove all the Guide because you didn't like it. Suggest constructive improvements instead. Which still doesn't mean "being as sterile as possible", because TASing is not creation of something sterile, it is about creating something unique and interesting.

Will you continue? I saved 3 more frames up to the middle of your 1-1, but 2 frames were lost due to tysons difference at 1430 and then I was too far forward, so a wall double-jump at 1735 landed me right on the warrior, while doing that jump a frame later caused me to fall off the roof in the first place. I use to give up once I get such crap, but it will be pointless if you stop it too. You don't have to save trap floor frames in 1-1.

Pretty fun run. The physics engine here seems rather complex due to acceleration in 2 dimensions, which means it can be improvable by changing random pressings here and there, and TASEditor is a good tool to do it. The only thing I'd add entertainment-wise is flying in imaginary figures that segue one into another, and still gobbling up all the pipe balloons (like "incidentally").

I'm lazy at these. Copypasted until someone writes a custom one.

JMan is streaming a full game from the console (Sivak appears in chat for the second part): http://twitch.tv/megaultrajman/b/354093162 http://twitch.tv/megaultrajman/b/354381599 EDIT: Finished watching it myself. Sivak even calls JMan vie Skype and they talk after the 7 hour mark of the 2nd vid. Sivak now is in Japan. Their talk is pretty long :)

Can you explain the reason for your vote? I would like to understand, what I can improve here.
Not enjoying how an improvement looked doesn't mean there's a better improvement. Improvements are instant accept in most cases. I didn't watch it though.

EDIT: Since it is a community issue, not a legal one, applying some random lisence is cool, but it's not how we GET this working. We just must set a community rule added here that if you actually redo someone's input, adjusting it, you own it completely, if you directly copypaste segments, both authors own it and must be credited. The weird part here is that we aim for optimality, which means different people may come up with identical input segments. We still have no way to force anyone here, just give an advice to specify whether it was copied, and ask to add a co-author if it was. As an act of fair respect to work we do here. However there might be a way to claim your authorship for some input. For example, if speed-unrelated moves are identical to yours, you do that. But I'm still not sure how to be with speedy solutions unrelated to entertainment - it's the matter of optimality, and one can fairly TRY his best improving//changing that input, but not succeed. I'd suggest ignoring isolated tricks copypaste and not co-author them. Only if your movement fashion was directly copied.

Yearly event with lots of tasty stuff, featuring quite some of our members and friends. Penultimate year DK was presenting the nesbot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQXVgMKJEDY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN1yEOVYyAQ Last year PJ was glitchfesting Battletoads: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SFUmjs9E1c Now we're going to see Tompa playing DKC, Battletoads&DoubleDragon glitchfest by PJ and Mecha Richter (I helped finding new glitches), also some stuff from: Greenalink, Carl Sagan, Sinister1, Duckfist, Funkdoc, KennyMan666, Emptyeye, and others. http://marathon.speeddemosarchive.com/schedule Watch it on http://www.twitch.tv/speeddemosarchivesda and likely on http://marathon.speeddemosarchive.com/ itself.
