Serious Sam Advance is a first-person shooter for the Game Boy Advance that was published by Global Star Software. It is a non-canon spin-off of the Serious Sam series and was released in tandem with another spin-off by the same developer, Serious Sam: Next Encounter. In terms of gameplay, it is the same as the first game, where the objective is to kill waves of enemies in each level in order to progress. Some levels also have puzzle elements for some variety. The story is meant to take place after the The First Encounter, where Serious Sam goes on a time-traveling mission to Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome to defeat the remnants of Mental's forces.
