I’m voting meh… it’s interesting to see a password being glitched, and it does require tool assistance to do so, but… uh

I see, that sounds very troublesome… I hope you can get a nice result, I really look forward to seeing the level glitched :)

have you seriously been stuck 2 or so years for a camera hack? O_o isn’t it as simple as finding a camera X/Y address and cheating it? anyway I can’t believe I had never watched the WIPs before… stupendous work, can’t wait for it to be all polished up and submitted (I agree you should skip bosses where faster)

I don’t really understand… does this bypass the size/time limits of YT?

what happens if you hit the wall underwater with that speed? would you go into swimming animation after the “hit” animation, kind of like how it happens at the end of Aru’s vid?

why the hell would a 70-star run obsolete a 100% run? they’re different categories with different goals

I came in to say that those RNG manipulation vids are awesome :) if you make a proper run and submit it to the site, I’ll be sure to watch it!

I have sort of thought about this before but never brought it up. Why is this not called the "0 Stars" run?
true, singular is incorrect

Yeah, for that too, but I'm also getting all 75 Kremcoins in the first stage, Pirate Panic and that's the "controversial" part...
how does that work?

120 stars is gonna include BLJs, no point in having 70 include them too 70 is the least amount required to beat the game legitimately, it’s kind of a glitchless/low glitch run

I don't remember every little detail about the TAS, but nowhere does it directly go through walls by using hyperspeed, does it?
Yes, quite a few times.
I don’t remember any. examples? “doesn’t glitch through walls” wouldn’t be right though as someone else said previously, Chain Chomp’s Gate with the Bob-omb

If it's really so important to have a "clear definition" of this category (it isn't), couldn't we just say that negative hyperspeed is banned? Meaning that having no cap on forward speed (such as HSWKs) is fine because those are regular moves that were intended anyway (being able to wallkick on an optimal frame isn't a glitch).
then it would be arbitrary not to use HSWK to beat the game in 1 star and only using it for some stars in a 70 run… I’m fine with this run just because HSWK is hard to define and this run could go either way

This isn't a 100% run; it's an "any% with no BLJs" run.
I'm not sure if this statement is true; I remember it being possible to beat the game with 1 star BLJless by using HSWKs instead. I unfortunately don't have enough time to watch the whole video or analyze it, but if HSWKs are not abused during the run, then the run goal could be defined as "any% while Mario's speed does not exceed [some number]" where [some number] is whatever is required to get all those wall collision glitches to work. If HSWKs or other speed related glitches are used, then "any%" cannot be used to describe the run, and it should be described as "intentionally gets the fewest number of stars intended by the game developers even though fewer is possible, in order to provide more entertainment".
it’s a “glitchless any%” run

So can we take bets for the number of times this gets held up due to small improvements? :D
there are already known improvements, since this run is so long many things can’t be hexed due to RNG, I doubt the authors plan on touching this again for a long time I was gonna make that joke myself, but then I saw the “known improvements” table :P @sonicpacker: what about “Metal-Head Mario can Move” for example? I think it’s an old record, so I’m guessing the 70 stars run wouldn’t have gotten past it at the time it was made… then why was it not used?

the run was fantastic and I loved it, but… some of the known improvements look easily hexable, why weren’t those implemented…? for example, “Metal-Head Mario can Move”, which uses a different strategy entirely… also I find rather pointless the branch “BLJless” as a 70 stars run would obviously be BLJless, you don’t need to spell it out

Actually, here:

that wasn’t implying anything using a game instead of a console makes more sense already, like Nach did in his opening post

whenever did I imply that? adding a single one is stupid because it doesn’t portray what BizHawk truly is, if you got some fantasy think up something better…
