So if you die in the middle of a BLJ, you keep your momentum when you regain control? Interesting...
I think it's because of how Skelux edited the way you die out of that level. Notice Mario doesn't "fly out" in reverse. He instead just falls straight down.
wouldn’t you get the same when you die outside of the castle in SM64 then?

@adelikat: can you go into detail about what needs doing on Mike Tyson’s Punchout? how many inputs, of what window? (and how many fps?)

I improved this run by a lot. Here's the new m64: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1584811726/Kayak%20V2.m64
but wasn’t it perfect?

You will see it when the 70 star will be submitted (soon). It's made by snark. It's not a new strategy or anything, just optimization.
Will the 70 star run use blj? If not, will it use any techniques that could potentially accelerate mario indefinitely?
it’s gonna use HSWK for a few stars, apparently but the definition of “HSWK” is debatable @Nahoc: that is insane, I honestly don’t believe it’s just optimization O_o

http://www35.atwiki.jp/sm64tas/pages/31.html wait a sec wtf is Mysterious Mountainside 6″93? O_o I want to see that… also I came here to say that I had a strategy idea for it, doing a glitchy WK then another WK to jump up instead of a triple jump

That's great to hear. What sort of times did you get in total?
I think you'll be even happier with your time for Terminal Velocity. I've tried everything I could think of a dozen times over the course of three days. My final time was only 1'28"54. I did manage to save a frame from delaying the Laser hit, so it moved down from 1'28"55. I'll have the rest of my times in my submission.
Now see, I thought I was roughly 15 frames of perfect due to button mashing. This pleases me :3
your game’s timer is bugged /shitstorm

I interpreted your sentece as “such” referring to the “is not” part, so it made sense such = not part of TASV = treated as not part of TASV anyway I was kinda just saying that adelikat should’ve made that post in the first place, instead of ignoring everyone and trying to defend himself only now; it’s not about taking a time machine, rather about not making mistakes in the first place

I think it’s sad how adelikat is actually trying to justify himself now his reply to all the complains before can be summed up with: “lol no I don’t want to, shut up” and now he thinks he’s right or something

yeah, Adelikat won’t listen to anybody else’s opinion I have no idea what “biz” was supposed to mean, but before you brought out the “business” point I didn’t feel like it was either bad nor good, but now I think it’s bad “business” won’t get out of my mind

I think it’s like you said “can do, so why not” I don’t remember ever watching a Mario run where it was done for the whole run, and if so I might agree that’s eccessive… but when it’s done every now and then it’s funny

I forgot to mention that in the newest .m64, I was able to hex the old spiral stairs, which were done for this run specifically, instead of having to use the input from the last run. I don't know what was making it desync in the previous .m64 (5'02"72), but I suppose that's irrelevant now. Anyway, I finished the encode and I'll upload it to YouTube in the morning. Once again, big thanks to Aktan and Nahoc for their help with teaching me how to encode for submissions.
wait, wasn’t that your only part of input? why are you still an author then? and was that 1 frame Snark was trying to improve in the butt-slide entering BitFS, and he failed to save it?

what do you mean with moving diagonally is faster? what if you alter up-right and up-left over and over to go straight up? is that faster?

1. Why did you use the console-verified encode? 2. Both runs don't start at the same time. Overall, this "comparison" video is pretty useless. =/
I wouldn’t consider it useless, probably useless for what it’s supposed to be, but the idea to compare emulated video with real video is pretty interesting to me

Agreed.
because you aren’t letting the console read the game anymore? it’s the same as partly removing N64 catridges to get weird effects, I don’t think that should be allowed
