That I can understand, but it doesn't excuse you from not trying. The very least you could have done is to have gotten help from someone.
I thought we’d get help with this topic, the text can always be edited

if possible, we’d like to have the run on our own YT channels, with which I mean: can an encoder upload his encode to mediafire or similar, and send it to use rather than uploading it to his YT channel? the description text is poor because we’re bad writers edit: forgot to mention, the type of encode layout we’d like is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVDo_I-AmFc

Take your time; everyone is going to want to see it optimized. You'll be glad later when it's fully optimal and you won't ever have to TAS the game again (or at least for a while).
this game is so complicate and hard to TAS, that you can’t expect a fully optimal run at the first go, SM64 itself is still being improved upon for one, the glitches used in the run are extremely hard to simply even trigger, and we most certainly couldn’t optimize them at all the 11 frames improvement in BitFS synched, unexpectably

Bowser is incredibly hard to optimize, it’ll take some more time and we have to redo Bowser’s fight in BitFS due to new discoveries, hopefully it’ll synch but it probably won’t… so that’s like 10 frames we’ll have to give up on

For useless bottom screen games we simply must stack the screens horizontally. And for the rest, like that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0_GIuWHnyQ&list=PL01B5410FCAA811BF&index=1
this is the best idea in my opinion

Having some problems in BitS at the moment but hopefully we will be able to finish it soon.
well I finished it up, not sure how good the strategy is though… I believe it to be the best possible (it looks bad due to unavoidable wait times), except maybe the last 2 LJs, I’ll let you look into that as I’m going to sleep now

I’m not sure if it’s even necessary at this point, but since the last update was almost a week ago: we’ve passed the last biggest hurdle, the 50-star door skip, so now the road is all downhill, the movie should be ready for submission in the weekend :) current movie length: 13′06″ entered BitS: 13′20″

There's still one point I have to agree on:
It's also annoying to have to check a topic multiple times before an encode is embedded into the OP
It's not immediately obvious when an encode was added, since the thread isn't marked as new on edits, nor will the "View unread posts"-link tell you about it. Would it be possible to extend the submission system to mark submission threads that contain an encode? It might be as simple as a two-line heuristic in TVA's forum module:
if (stripos('[video', $submissiontext) !== false)
  $posttopic = "(encode) $posttopic";
The above very much.
agreed

small update: we are, like, saving thousands of frames over the old route, currently 7 stars at exactly 7 minutes in

we think keeping the new WIP secret would make for a bigger surprise effect when we submit it, so sorry but we won’t post more in the meantime I’ve uploaded a star I made myself from the old route: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbSUKSlpunw

and with 668 frames saved total, we decide we should try a new route, so everything from scratch again… I hope this new route is faster because it looks cool

marvelous run, as always :) loved the music-synched action, there should be more! just one thing: at 7:33 is jumping through the wall slower than going around it or am I missing something?

well, we were working on it and with about 270 frames saved over the old WIP MKDasher found a new speed conservation technique for LJs… so we basically have to redo everything! just from beginning to touching the castle’s door, MKDasher saved 20 frames the trick is simply what could be called “no input LJ”, speed goes down slower than if you press a direction edit: works also for normal jumps xD edit2: no input slows you down by 2048 each frame when you are above normal top speed, which is less than with input double/triple jumps should be made as small as possible /// seems like a triple jump is faster right after a LJ instead of running then triple jumping (star 1)

just noticed this thread… I’m not sure if they’re comparable at all, but Prenz is crazy on this game and his scores are here http://www.cyberscore.me.uk/game/22 I know this game has quite the version differences… earliest US release being the best as far as abusable glitches go, I believe

Are you two going to submit the run when you're done?
that’s the plan edit: I’ve been trying SM64’s route for BitFS, but it seems impossible :( jumping from the pillars to the pipe’s invisible walls is too much of a distance to be doable

what do you mean? you’d rather see a full run? I didn’t think the same argument as SM64 would come here XD

8-Star WIP by MKDasher: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/700999400/8starRun-000.dsm need Advanced Bus Level Timing ON, emu 0.9.7 it’s a test run, but the best I’ve seen so far, if anyone has route ideas go ahead and let us know he’s a friend of mine and I thought I’d coauthor it, for now my contribution is 6 frames faster to the castle’s door, I’ll complete the outside part and try to save more when I have time
