that sounds great though, and it being possible only in one place may just make it all the more attractive :)

I think it may consider how far over the line your kart is on the frame you cross.

guys, I have a question I've improved the ending by "001 (vid) but I myself don't understand why it saves time… both methods end on the same frame, how does the game calculate time so precisely?

it looks like you're losing time on the moving platforms to me, for not staying on the very edge of them also at 1:28 wouldn't it be faster if you jumped up to the middle block then went right from there?

I don't care about the TASer's feelings, I care about the movie itself I noticed I haven't voted in that submission, but I probably would've voted no if I followed the discussion edit: there's a 2nd no vote on this one now btw lol

wow, you think people are out to attack you the one about the encode was a guess to try to answer your question, I never meant it as anything more… I voted no after it was published so I figured it wouldn't matter, I'm pretty sure I've posted similar negative comments on many other runs because I like all tricks to be incorporated in a run; never said it should be unpublished

this publication hasn't been very true to the "no known improvements" rule

I wonder why I always only get to hear these things after submission and not while I'm actually making the TAS :/
that happens when you make no encodes, I think

@Alaktorn Random mashing between pause and frame advance? o_O
...in addition to the order you suggested I think I've read a different reply on how to fix this back in this topic but I don't think I'll bother trying, Dolphin doesn't seem advanced enough for me to like TASing on it…

"In Dolphin the frame advance hotkey switches between normal mode and "frame advance mode". When in "frame advance mode", pause/play will act as frame advance." that didn't work for me when I tried it… no matter the random mashing I did between pause and frame advance, the emulator wouldn't do it

great stuff, good luck on the next stages :) couldn't quite understand what was going on in the boss battles, but I'll trust that they're good

Really? I never noticed anything like that.
Yep. It's like as soon as the box finish fading onto the screen, and until it begins to fade out of the screen, that the whole box itself is like part of the text, or something. So basically, when the box is done fading in, you should hold start, and as it is fading out, start does nothing to speed it up. But as long as it is fully on screen (not fading in anymore) start will speed it up, this includes when the text is finished, as long as the box isn't fading out, you should be holding start to speed it up. I'm pretty sure I'm talking pretty stupidly right about now so all of what I say will be very veigue. That's what I get for not going to bed. I hope you can make that out.
does that mean there are many frames that could be saved?

The only thing that is different, is Mega Man 10 time trials. I don't know why they chose to change it, but I actually like it that way, since it penalizes weapon pick-ups.
they changed it so you can't abuse pausing anymore :) abusing quick-pausing to have perfect reflexes is terribly gay and I hate everyone who does it
