Have you given any consideration to submitting your testrun, Dooty? I'm no expert on DKC3, admittedly, but it looked optimized enough to meet site standards to me, aside from the new tricks you discovered in the course of making it.
I don't think it would make sense, he's already working on a more proper run, it would get obsoleted soon

yeah I understand that, I thought the speed would make up for the loss of points though what's the glitch you encountered?

it's funny how those scores don't beat the human records lol impressively quick though myself I find UtK2 a much better game, are there plans to TAS that?

"80 -> "73 that certainly is 2 frames in a 30fps game, were they all saved in the BitFS Bowser entry? I haven't been reading that other thread so I didn't know good job at improving 2 frames and not stealing the Jap's glory btw

Alaktorn: I'm actually three frames faster into the first bonus. The in game timer is really crappy. Let's take some frames before entering the bonus: Frame 1: 14:82 (On the in game timer) Frame 2: 14:83 Frame 3: 14:84 Frame 4: 14:85 Frame 5: 14:96 (Where I enter the bonus) Frame 6: 14:97 Frame 7: 14:90 Frame 8: 14:91 (Where was0x enters the bonus)
oh god, why does it work that way…? that also fucks up non-assisted speedruns :/ I have another question about movies: how do I jump directly to a specific frame in a WIP? I've watched the old WIP, how do I skip that so I can watch only the new part of the new WIP? and how do I watch the input of the movie? I tried turning on "display input" but nothing shows

just watched Tompa's movie and 0xwas is faster into the first bonus level, are there plans to optimize it? I can't watch 0xwas's movie, it tells me it's unsupported on my emulator but the version is correct (v1.43), help? in full mine actually says v1.43+ v13, is that the problem?

it's not really simple, I know nothing about SNES TASing, I can't tell what emulator I should use from the file's extension and downloading emulator+ROM takes time, I'm pissed off of you people taking for a given that everyone should have emulator+ROM of everything to play these movies, I simply asked for a favour if someone wanted to encode it, if you don't want to, don't post, you don't need to tell me I have to download things as if it's a given

thanks for the answers :) I also noticed that in Riverside Race you guys often bounce off the water when the speedrun and TAS records don't, here's the fastest TAS I've found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXyi5P1v3AQ by 0xwas it looks slower to bounce off the water in some places that you guys did

I'm watching it now and have a few questions, why (when running) you sometimes roll continuosly and some other times roll+jump? also, you start with Dixie which I think is the fastest character but then continue with Kiddy, isn't he slower? edit: after continuing to watch, I see you switch back to Dixie, is there a reason why Kiddy is faster on the snow level? in the trees level you switch back to Kiddy, I don't get it also I noticed a funny glitch after the bonus levels when Kiddy jumps against a wall, how is that executed? xD

personally I think it's sad to know that the normal Models dash is the fastest, I would've liked to see other forms being faster can't wait for you to finish it

I feel trashed after 4 or 5 hours testing strategies and TASing, but I've passed the biggest hurdle in this TAS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIydgdgN64s what's left is just to finish it up edit: oh god I think I failed the encode, it's sped up >_< can someone tell me how to make decent enough quality vids without them having a 100+MB size? is it impossible? I tried to lower the quality a lot but it's still 150MB, 40 minutes to upload on YT :/ edit2: LMAO. STL just noticed that we could end the day and let AI suicide, getting a faster win edit3: saved 14 frames removed the vid, currently uploading the improvement

edit: beautiful, Desmume is crashing whenever I load a state while playing a movie...
this is still happening, does anyone know what could cause it? I can't continue the TAS...
I've fixed it and did one more map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcCMwWsNA44 really boring due to all the Silos AI launches, the TAS will probably die here because we have no idea of a strategy for the next map

it's possible to transfer Dolphine to Wii because in MKW there are TASes on the official Wi-Fi rankings not sure about your other question, I have the emulator downloaded and I do see a "Frame Stepping" option which should be frame advance, but I don't know how well it works because I've never tried it
