I'd second a run of this game. A well-built, difficult game of non-stop action getting absolutely demolished? Yes please.

Why is this not in the Hacks/Demos division???????? (it's good enough to be)
Because the REV01 movie isn't finished yet. (Although, I suppose that the REV00 movie could be submitted; after all, people have made TAS of games using earlier revisions, provided they were faster or had more glitches to exploit.) Just to note, Sonic Jam's version of Sonic 1 had the spin dash, although I doubt this helps in your quest of finding a rom with it in place.

P.S. By the way, this one seems to be the most appreciated movie on the site for now. 52 (actually, 53) yes votes out of 53 total is awesome. Is there a game which could, if properly TASed, gather in the similar harvest of votes?
The Mario 64 20-star TAS was getting just as many votes when it first came out.

Gunstar Super Heroes sounds promising, but hasn't come out yet. Still, if it's anything like the original, it'll be a blast to watch.
Take out the part about it not being out yet, and I still stand by that statement.

Wow, that was pretty awesome. Who would have guessed that King had a weakness. Question: Just how did you cancel the Copy Vision like that? I never even knew that you could do that until now. A definite yes vote.

Wow. Who would have thought that a game that moves so slow could be be such a joy to watch? I'm have mixed feelings on world six. Even though I like the tactics implemented in that world (especially at the start of 6-2), every time I watch it my eyes scream out "Oh gawd the pain make it stawp!! @_@" ;p Voting yes.

There's no denying that Star Ocean is a damn fun game to play (indicating that I have at least played some of it), but that doesn't mean that all fun games are a delight to watch. Plot and unfamiliarity have nothing to do with it on my end. I played through Pokémon RB a number of times, and I still didn't find watching that TAS to be any more thrilling (it also doesn't help when the run is threatening to put you to sleep). As for the CT run: if it weren't for taking note in the various strategies that the TASer used, I wouldn't have liked that run either.

It seems that there are many people who don't much like this movie, because they don't understand what's going on and there are very few battles.
I'd think it's a safe bet to think that there were many people that didn't like this movie because it was boring. :|

I'm with Cmuxmt on this. The movie was well-made, but it was also unbearably boring for my states. I dunno about the rest of you, but I like to have action in my RPG, and that's something that this TAS failed to deliver throughout most of the run. Voting no.

So I was thinking, and this would be a nice game to TAS. There's a nice variety of levels, six animals to mess around with, and two runs to be made: a minimalist, and a 100%. (And for those that just like having fun but dun wanna submit anything, there's always the boss attack.) Just my two cents. Now if you excuse me, I'm going back to lursking.

You mean, before entering the dam area that leads to the dam? Where the door is at the top left corner and one has to run far to the right first to get on the uppermost platforms? If that's the door you mean it's not possible to reach it. Until someone proves me wrong of course.
Well like adelikat and I've stated, we've done it on the actual console... although it's rather hard to get up there in the first place. It's relatively easier to make the similar jump in area 3 to get the missles. And if there's another version of the game, it might be able to be done on there. (I doubt it, but still.)

Second area, first level (top floor): ...you do realize that you can just jump to one of those ledges where the gap is (right before the door), right? That way, you don't have to spend a slew of seconds getting to that door. ;>_> I know that it works; I've done it before on the actual cartridge, although it's not exactly easy to do... and I've only been able to do the trick on the left ledge. Then again, I've never tried jumping to the right one.

Holy crap. I remember that I had a strategy guide of this game, although I doubt that it was the Nintendo Power one. That was the only way that I could beat the card game. I can't answer your first question, and although I believe that the hammer brothers movements are random, again I can't say for sure. A music box lasts two turns; activating it is the first, and the stage that you play after that is the second. Have fun.

Gee guys thanks for stating the obvious. Did you guys at least appreciate the real good news in his post, and watch the "preview" non-cheat movie? I think it's awesome that he's now done with worlds 4, 5, and 6.
Actually, I didn't catch that. Must have missed it in all the confusion. Thanks for the info.

Hm... this has got me thinking. Most of us know how "second quest" runs are treated on this site (unnecessary and boring). But technically, replaying worlds 1-1 to 1-3 isn't as much of a second quest as it is the game tricking you into thinking that you're taking a second quest. It's kinda comparable to The Sorrow boss fight in MGS3. Only this time, instead of the game tricking you into thinking that it's game over, AIR is tricking us to thinking that you're restarting the game from scratch, when you've got a new world 1-3 awaiting you, and the true ending of the game. (And as far as repeating stages goes, it wouldn't even take that long.) So if this is truly the case, Genisto hasn't truly beaten the game at all. AIR has achieved victoly over the TASer. ...now we can't have that, can we? >>;

Nah. The movie's still awesome, which is why it got the star in the first place. It's just that now, there's an even faster movie which also warrants a star.

Not like you can skip all non-autoscrolling levels anyway. If I'm not mistaken, you can't skip the ships in World 8 even with Jugem's Cloud.
