Wow, I knew someone could beat it with over 47 seconds remaining.

No objects can be placed above the top of the level, they'd just loop to the bottom of the next 'screen.' You can even fly over goalposts if you're offscreen like that. =P It would be an interesting way to finish that Choco Island level at least.

I'm sorry, random user, but it is often wiser to simply edit a post than it is to double post. Especially in a topic as active as this. =P

It's a pity about the lack of sequence breaking. I think it was dumb luck that MP1 turned out to be so speed-runnable.
This game's "sequence" slowly falling apart already, just give it time. Exhibit A.

The Torizo can only be skipped in the European version. Samus's speed is slightly faster in that version, and she can escape the room before the door auto-closes.

I've seen that site be down several times myself, but it should be up and running at the time of this post.

Zoness is the toxic sea. Macbeth is the train-chasing tank level.

If the minutes are the same in multiple Super Metroid runs, someone can just check the seconds. They are recorded by the game, yet never displayed. For example, the 30 minute run was finished in 0 hours, 30 minutes, 25 seconds, and 50 frames game time. Here's the RAM values: 7E09E0 - Hours 7E09DE - Minutes 7E09DC - Seconds 7E09DA - Frame Count 'Cheat Search' will display these values, if no other option is available.

Yeah, you'd best be Baning Chaos at the end.

Make sure you hit multiple Star Wolf members with the lock-on shot in the final level. And only with charged shots to painstakingly maximize ones score. >_>

Most bosses are immune to instant death inflicting spells. The bug is Vanish forces any spell to hit, including Doom. And since no monster can be immune to the death status that Doom causes, it works. Though, Joker Doom is more than likely going to be used against later bosses.

It doesn't save keypresses, but rather, all the video and sound ouput.

Are there any more factors involved for the desperation attacks BTW? Low health is one factor. Do you have to manipulate something else in order to launch it when you want? Or do you just re-record until you get it?
There's a 1/16 chance of it occuring, and as mentioned before, it won't occur until some time into the battle. Edit: At the request of the selectively illiterate, I should also mention low health (below 1/4) is indeed a factor as well.

Joker Doom will take care of the final boss no problem.... assuming his nearly preempted Fallen One interferes with the Echo Screen.

Have you tried 'spike jumping' off of the steam yet? I'm sure 47's doable.

But with that analogy, the title screen of the race shouldn't count toward the time and in these movies that generally happens.

Yeah, for the player to work, it has to be in the plugins directory.

Have you tried playing it in the program that comes with the plugin? Also, make sure you have the sound recorder plugin set up in the SPU part.

This is the discussion board of tool-assisted console game movie sites such as Bisqwit's and Arc's. Welcome. Please do not fill the forums with movie requests. Enjoy your stay. If you have a question, please read the FAQ first to see if your question has already been answered. We also have an IRC channel #nesvideos at irc.enterthegame.com...

Someone has created a font similar to the one used in FF6. It merely lacks the shading. Edit: http://homepage.mac.com/glennfield/magitek/sixtek.html Check it out.

Any restorative item or spell will damage the GhostTrain. Perhaps one could throw a spare X-Potion just to be different?

Morph + 2 earrings + Ice Rod should take out Flame Eater on one hit.
