What was the secret level again? I don't seem to remember it.

Because they needed something to separate Jumpman's nose and mouth in Donkey Kong.

Yeah, it does save a 'State V' when you first start recording... I'm unsure how to even interact with this file at all...

Also, in the Aztec level, it's possible to make your way back up the pit that you can fall in near the beginning of the level.

Marble Madness? Heh, funny name for Marble Zone. Anyway, as I mentioned in the Sonic 2 topic, these times are still not the best. Watch the movies at this page: http://www.soniccenter.org/videos.php?g=5

The current record for Emerald Hill 1 is 20 seconds on the actual game, so there's some other route that's faster. http://www.soniccenter.org/videos.php?g=6 Here's a movie page for Sonic 2 level runs.

I tried that 'dying in Tourian' trick, and the Rinkas still refused to drop any items whatsoever. So, there may be another trigger for this.

No, the SNES and Genesis versions are two completely different games.

I agree with the above poster. I first saw the now classic SMB3 movie on Morimoto's site, so I ended up downloading the FMV. I had never used Famtasia before, but I easily understood what the 'rerecord count' thing meant. So, not everyone is entirely ignorant if you can pieve together the clues. (I believe the avi file had the 'Movie Stop' message at the end, so it was clearly an emulator movie.)

I don't think that Tetris movie can really be considered a 'speed run.' It's more of an endurance match.

How about, "Kids, don't try this at home! ...or you'll be severely disappointed."

I think you mean Decap Attack! Great game! I'd also love to see some Genesis speed runs.

If any of you speed runners for this game are able to beat the 100% times posted on SDA's Yoshi's Island page and can record it being played on the cart/console, you should submit the movies to Radix. He's accepting individual level improvements. http://planetquake.com/sda/other/YoshisIsland.html

On the main site, the ROM version is usually mentioned in parentheses nest to the game's name. I believe Gremlins 2 is the only exception.

http://tasvideos.org/famtasiapatch.php Get one from the vending machine round back. Make sure you brought exact change, as it'll eat it anyway.

Quake has a quicksave button. It's one of the F keys.

Also, there's been some updated patched released for Famtasia, which improve its usability by quite a lot. http://tasvideos.org/famtasiapatch.php Just leave all the boxes checked the way they currently are, and click the download button.

Lately, Radix of SDA has been mirroring all of the available runs on archive.org. Try downloading from there if fileplanet is giving you trouble. http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=speed_runs&collectionid=MegaManX4_SS_10354

Speed Demos Archive. If you're able to record yourself doing this run on an actual GBA (or Game Boy Player) they'd host it for you.

I've mentioned this rerecording ability several times in the chat toom, heh. Too bad I never thought of making a topic for it. Well, anyway, I was trying out a few different games with this and I think I'd like to try an Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee run. That game is nearly impossible, so seeing someone blaze through the game would be most rewarding. Also, I don't think there's a way to resume an already started movie, so some longer games will need to have segmented runs if the author wishes to retain their sanity.
