Not to mention the fact that rerecording already implemented for Playstation emulators. If I had X4, I'd try it out, definitely. (X3 and X4 are the only ones I'm missing, conveniently enough...)

Actually one was made, but I don't think Bisqwit liked it. It was Mario themed.

Ironically enough, a legitimate 100% speed run was done for this game. Feel free to watch it and see where possible improvements could be made. http://planetquake.com/sda/other/YoshisIsland.html (each level apparently starts with 0 eggs in this run, so there's plent of room for improvement there alone.)

You need a file called "disksys.rom" to use FDS files. It's illegal to link to here, so don't bother asking.

Yes, there is no such code. The code you may have been thinking of was the two player battle mode mentioned earlier. In a run for this game, I'd like to see the full 6 star completion, and fancy tricks like, ricocheting eggs and daring flutter jumps all around. It could be very interesting, but it will require a lot of effort.

Most of Smokey's original runs were indeed done on an emulator, but the ones he submitted to SDA were done on the actual cartridge and console.

Heh, I always figured that when people were referring to the 'Rock Monster' they were talking about the clone, rather than the Yellow Devil. Kinda makes sense if you think about it.

Seeing as how this forum has been set up, I'd like to know how much longer until blip's modified SNES9X with rerecording capabilities is available for a final release. There's quite a few SNES games I'd be more than interested in making runs for.

You have to make sure you kill Overdrive Ostrich before Wire Sponge, just to do that cool cut-in-half death that happens. I've always loved doing that! (I'm unsure of their Japanese names, sorry for referring to the US version's ones in this post.)

Guests can post, that's news to me? Anyway, the current legitimate record for this game is about 5 and a half hours. With some savestate abuse, one could possibly get perpetual missees, and perfect timed attacks the entire game. Would look pretty interesting.

A person by the very original name of 'Link' has done a few practice speed runs of The Wind Waker, and his times average in the low 7 hour range. He's reluctant to record the run, however, due to it's extreme length. (Radix of SDA has offered hosting for the run already, so that's not really a problem.)

Personally, I downloaded the emulator movie version and had no problems.

Simply walking off the screen that the Witch's Hut is on should activate the Magic Powder. Though there is the amount of time saved by going to Ganon's Tower directly upon completing Turtle Rock.

Are the ZMV files available for these movies? Having those available would somewhat decrease the bandwidth consumed.

The passing through walls glitch was unintentional. It's just like the one in Rockman 2, where you get forced out of a wall that the player getrs trapped in.

This left+right glitch appears in several games. The various Zelda games, for example.

I believe he's referring to the encoding of the video.

Heh, they're not even allowed to have swastikas in German games nowadays I hear, even Doom II's secret levels were taken out of that version.

The Half-Life and Super Metroid runs were done on a real PC/console, so they don't exactly compare to the emulator runs on this site.

For Turtle Rock, the Magic Powder can be used as an alternative to the Cane of Somaria. Though, I doubt the time wasted acquiring the mushroom and the powder itself is made up by obtaining the Mirror Shield earlier. Also, Hookshot is required in Misery Mire

Hahaha, I especially loved the way you completely slaughtered Mr. X. I had never even thought of that one. Very good job!
