I hate to nitpick, but the forum is still teeming with references to "Nesvideos." Can that be changed as well to reflect the new domain? Or is it more difficult than I think it is?
No, there's no technical problem. I will only change these gradually, with no hurry whatsoever. Name it a transition period, a half-hearted experiment or a glitch, if you need to.
Automated responses are awesome.

You do know that holding down start for a couple seconds allows you to skip most cutscenes? I was able to save the game at the first save point in under 3 minutes on the cart.

I bet Gamestop is thinking about the Wii's virtual console. They probably don't want to be stuck holding used game X for $Y when people can add it to their Wii collection for ~= $Y.
They're getting rid of their PlayStation games too.

And don't refer to the game as OT, for fear of a Ganon-ban
Yeah, it should be called TLOZOOT.

I don't think PS2 memory cards can actually be detected by PS games.

Does this game feature the handicap option where you can give each character 9 stars to start? =P

What would you use the ice beam for in a non-enemy damaging manner? Aside from Metroids and certain colors of Rippers, enemies are still harmed by the ice beam.

http://rpgd.emulationworld.com/ballz/ducktales/ending.htm Some random ROM hacker later confirmed this is how you get the ending, but I can't seem to find when or where this was posted.

You get a different ending in DuckTales if you can perform the (impossible) task finishing the game with no money.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to refer to 'speed run' as two words?

Maybe the ROM needs to [not] have a header?

If anyone knows whats the in-game seconds is PLEASE tell me. I really want to know.
The game's timer appears to be stored at 7E0048 for the minutes, and 7E0046 for frames, seconds aren't kept track of separately. After loading your save file at the end of the game, the timer reads 38 minutes and 3376 frames, so that's about 56 seconds and 16 frames.

Lock $7E0410-7E041F to: 8B A0 80 EB 84 9D 6B 22 A3 CE ED BC B6 87 2E 34 (the set I got on a successful attempt) and the fisher will always be at the right position ... change only one value above and it doesn't work ... So those 16 bytes in memory are really the random values used (and work all together, they change all together too), now we'll have to find how exactly they determine the fisher's position, and how they change with each randomization (to predict when a good set will come).
Is this what you're looking for?

Well, there doesn't seem to be a reset sequence (unlike almost all Square games made after this one) so it'd require dying to reset the game, at least with Snes9x as it is now.
Wrong. L + R + SELECT + START = Reset.
I'm also confirming this. I actually booted up the game to check, heh.

Maybe it'll be even faster if you don't worry about silly graphical changes?!

I believe Volkov did that in one of his SMW runs.
