I always try to explain as clearly as I can why they are wrong instead of deleting their comments. I think it is more useful for people reading the comments who perhaps don't have a perfectly clear idea of what a TAS is.

Well that's up to the author isn't it? If that was his only option I know I wouldn't care about it.

As long as you explain clearly who made the run and that is is a TAS, as well as making sure it isn't already uploaded to youtube, I think most poeple would be okay with it. It still might be best to pm and ask the author of the movie about it before doing it though.

Super Metroid Cliffhanger is in my opinion the best Super Metroid hack there is to date.

Track00, god damn you. EDIT: Anyway, I got 11 on my first listening (90% sure on them anyway), but there where a lot of other tracks that I know I've heard I just couldn't figure out where. So I'll try to find a few more before the deadline :)

IIRC I read somewhere that it depends on which application you are doing the comparison with, but that Windows 7 is faster on average.

Pretty fun, and the music doesn't make make my ears bleed as it seems to do for many. So far I'm pretty confident in knowing what number 1, 9, 11 and 12 are supposed to be. There where some others that had small parts that made me think I knew what it was, but the rest of it didn't sound anything like it was supposed to.

Good to see that progress is being made, although not that interesting this far because of 80% being talking and tutorials :) Also I checked because of interest, and it seems the running trick saves ~60 frames per 200 frames running. This is a lot...

SMB3 wins for me, it both impressed and entertained me greatly. SMW comes at second place, followed by Spider Man, Sonic and OoT in that order).

Watched it and liked it. Plenty of nostalgia, even though I've never actually played the game, I only have the first CV for the N64, but this just seems to be a slight remake of that with added characters, so most of the areas are just as I remember them :) I really think there should be a run using a character that completes the whole game though, as this one misses ~half the game (probably the most interesting half, too), and doesn't have any bosses except for the skeleton in the beginning. 7/7.5

That's a pretty nice trick, In a long run like this that will surely add up to a lot of time saved :) And a tip for viewers, if you increase the speed once it will run in 60 fps, making the video look much smoother (at least on my computer running PAL games in the standard 50 fps makes it very "hacky"), and you'll still have no problem following the run as the increase in speed is very slight.

EDIT: I'm doing this on the [E] version, in case it matters.
Unless there is a very good reason to choose the E version over the U version (like a major timesaving glitch/trick) I suggest that you change to the latter, otherwise I think that you'll risk rejection when submitting the run. As for the game itself, it seems interesting enough, and as far as know it's fairly well known, so I'm sure there are plenty of people who are interested in seeing a TAS of it. EDIT: Oh, if the E version is standard then you should probably use it.

maybe getting Ice beam before going to Ridley and getting that one Super in Norfair the first time through instead of during the cleanup.
Well there shouldn't really be any difference for realtime and ingame time for that change should it? I mean you go through the same amount of doors either way right? The only difference is that after Ridley you are slightly closer to it. And that super, do you mean the one with the scrolling glitch? It seems that you benefit a lot from having spacejump there...

Would the main route change if I decided to aim for realtime, or would it just be small stuff like not running through more doors to gain speedboost?

I have been thinking about trying to TAS this game, and what I had in mind was to improve the 100% run. But since this topic has been down for so long I feel that I must first ask if someone is already working on it (seems possible). If not, then aside from the stuff in the new any% run has there been any more timesavers or tricks found for this run?

I believe that it'd be faster to backflip instead of walking. But anyway this is very cool. It's nice to see progress on so many platforms in this day.

Can I recommend something for your reboot? There's a code you can enter on the title screen (check GameFAQs here) that will start you off in the last level. This will allow you to start the second part of the game much sooner so you can actually get to Loki without much repetition. This allowance was given for the not-yet-made Super Nintendo version, so I doubt the judges would have issue with this.
From what I've read you can fight Loki on the first run through if it is on the hardest difficulty to begin with. Maybe I misinterpreted something though.
