This is the best strategy to the sidehopper room I came up with after 20-30 minutes of testing, I believe it is the same that JXQ used in his 100% run. It is over 30 frames faster and also has the advantage of letting you pick up all the refills.

He did do it the way I did it in my SM:I TAS, (you must have missed that part of his post) hero discovered it though, not me.

You've never seen the Torizo skip until now?

Nice move switching to a RBO TAS, to me it is much more interesting than your other projects, because well Gravy I knew barely nothing about and SM:I I'm working on myself. (as is tonski) I liked that CWJ in Crateria before the big diagonal room, it's slower ofcourse but looks really nice. I would have nothing against more small speed/entertainment trade offs. Oh and seeing as you have dumped it I heard you was up till Draygon in SM:I so I wonder if you could send that smv to me if it's not to much trouble. I'll leave the torizo skip to someone else but I'm quite certain that fano mentioned that before.

Yes but hero discovered that you could exit one frame earlier then usual if you released forward for a frame after changing direction to the right or something like that. And since that should not work for exiting facing to the left there is no gain.

Well naturally, 00:23 is already impossible by far from the point where he is now. 00:25 is a good goal.

I'd say that 00:24 is the limit as long as you're only bound by the route and not by tricks, 00:23 might be possible. The console route is not that much slower after all. Also you should take the maridia route to tourian, hotarubi made a mistake by taking the other one and the "true" console route would be through there.

It's pretty much the same here...

gotta love it :) Although on later years Disney has started to abuse the fact that at least 5-6 million swedes watches it so nowadays they have trailers for new Disney movies every year, that just ruins everything.

Merry Christmas from Sweden, the AFAIK only country with people silly enough to enjoy the same 30-40 year old Disney show with the same horrid voice over every single year.

Yeah Finnish is funny alright, but anyway what the hell is that song about? Last summer here in Sweden they played it everywhere...

Coisidentaly I did not care much for Redesign. Sure I see that a lot of work have been put into it and all that I just did not enjoy playing it very much, I'm not a sucker for searching a lot for various things, the guardian fetch quest was not plesant at all and the new gravity plus gimped walljump took a lot of fun out of it. Of course this is only my subjective opinion (though I know I'm not the only one who thinks Impossible is more fun) and objectively Redesign is by far the more worked through hack and generally the hack one should aim to play. Also I'm pretty much the Super Metroid freak and love the challange Impossible offers and I like that it is similar to the original since that means you don't get lost. (no I very much don't like hours of exploring) To put it shortly, I prefer half hacks over full hacks, I prefer challenge over exploring, I prefer normal SM gravity over SM:R gravity and I prefer Impossible over Redesign.

Impossible is not really a very good quality hack.
I think it is one of if not the best hack of Super Metroid, no it is not good for a publication here for obvious reasons (it's just a half hack and does not offer much new for the viewer) but I think it is a great quality hack.

It's a reverse boss order with the correct boss order... And some added challenges.

Nah better end it where you want it to end, no matter how many people are turning into insane maniacs in the wait. BTW has this hack been accepted to the site? And there is no way that Impossible would be accepted right?

I agree that this run is better fitted for the star then the 120 star run. Newcommers will probably not download a 1hour+ run at first, but if they see that Super Mario 64 has been completed in less then 6 minutes they will likely be interested since it seems as an impossilbe task. And after seeing how broken games can get in TASes they will come back for more :)

Have you changed samus max speed in insanity (would be nice ^^) or is it through some other way like conveyor belts or something?

I would like to see the gate opened since that would mean a glitch to make samus move 24px/frame in no distance had been found. That ought to be usefull in some way...

I don't follow this game very well, but would it be the same way you were trying to save people from wasting time with the torizo skip in ntsc, or am I completely missing the point here?
Not really, to make this work you would need to in some way make samus move more then twice her maximum running speed in virtuallu no room at all, otherwise there seems to be no possible way of doing it. Thus it would make more sense to either try to realise things that are theoretically possible with todays knowledge or randomly press buttons to find new glitches. Actually the case with the torizo skip could be compared to this since at the point where Saturn firmly stated it to be impossible it was impossible with current knowledge. (I guess that the trick lacking at the point was to turn around at the door, right?) But still there is a difference, the torizo skip was really close to being possible and the trick lacking was already used though in another way, to do the maridia gate backwards trick you would need a uterly ilogical gamebreaking glitch. Still Saturn do tend to use the word impossible a little to often, like with his chrono trigger TAS.

Me to, AoS is by far the most interesting CV game on GBA and that run is horribly outdated. Though as of now my anticipation for an all-souls-run is greater.
