Btw, on the second screen of the game, what's the purpose of the first jump you do before jumping over the fence? Is that faster than walking forward and jumping over the fence?
That is actually neccessary to jump over the fence. I tried going to the last pixel before the fence hurts the smurf, (it works like that lol) and his normal jump didnt make it over. It is also faster to continually jump in this game.

does jumping in this game make you go faster? in the coleco version it actually slowed you down.
Yes, in this port it makes you go faster. When I was testing, I got 34.26 without jumping, and a 24.15 with jumping. :P Echo helped me bring down the time of the last 3 screens by a little bit.

Here's an encode: https://youtu.be/oYw3lCA6708 There is 231 blank frames at the end of the movie. Here's the link to that movie.

I also wrote this which is still relevant to this movie. Also nice DEMONSTRATION you have there.
That's part of the game after it boots up.

This game features more than one loop and it can be argued starting from the Easiest difficulty can bring you to the hardest on the 3rd loop.
Just realized that. I'll make a movie that completes them, and then upload it. Would I cancel this submission, or just upload the new file when it's done?

Since the improvement is 714 or so frames of improvement, absolutely it should have a new submission.
Alright. Thanks.

Would I have to submit again or could someone replace the movie file with http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/54659237188147476 and I'll set it back to new?

Love Gen 1 Pokemon glitches. Some of them are pretty amusing, especially the WTW Glitch.

Please do not be too discouraged even if you don't get accepted here with this TAS. Even if there is not a place for publication for this hack on TASVideos, there might be some audience out there that might appreciate it and at the very least you have built up some skills working on this.
I keep getting replies like this. Thanks for telling me not to be discouraged. I will continue to TAS games and stay active. I have school on weekdays, so I won't be responding much then (as stated before). Third, I understand that there might not be a place for this hack, and this will get rejected. I thought it would be cool to have the enemies turned into coins after I found out how to do that, but I now see that it gets kind of repetitive. Lastly, I think I can make a play-around TAS for this game, but that might take a whie to make. I think it would be cool to have something like a play-around for this game, but I'm not going to do that any time soon. Thanks everyone for helping me figure out tricks for SMW, and you guys are really helpful.
