Enjoyable movie, even though I prefer the other platforms. I specially liked the Terminator 2 trick and cartoony physics.

I would vote NO because JXQ's input animation was the sole reason I could stand watching a 100% items run for one hour, but I won't vote something I'm not going to watch. I know that mimicking JXQ's work wouldn't look original, but I don't understand why it's okay to reuse optimization moves, but not entertainment feats, in an improvement of a movie.

I cannot see this movie until it's published anywhere, but I enjoyed a lot the previous one.

No offense, but if you're making a run to get familiar with the software, don't waste people's time and submit it. IMO, you should only attempt a run for the site if you're fully familiar with the tools you're trying to exploit. Sorry if that came off mean :/
He's not wasting any people time because he only submitted it because people told him to do it, as far as I know. He's being honest by saying this is a test run, so that anyone can skip it if they are looking for a fully optimized run.

I've seen this now, and WOW! Just WOW! Most of the time, you don't have more than three people on your party, which is totally crazy and awesome. Looking at the ammount of large battles that end on two turns is also hilarious. Your idea for avoiding explosive combination looks good, but I think you risk having the top 5 paths being small variations of the same route (instead of different paths with similar values), so there might be room for improvement hiding on this technically perfect run. Yes vote! (for supporting, as it's already accepted)

It looks much more optimized. There were some weird moves that were suspect in latest movies that aren't in this one. Voting yes. P.S. It would be nice that you write how much faster is this movie compared to precedent one in your submission text.
Seems to be about 28.15 seconds of improvement.

If there are to be kept for entertainment purposes, they should be remade, IMHO. I know for the Super Metroid thread that many "entertainment for speed" trades were done on the last "any% in-game time" run. Right now, what's on the "any% real time" run that cannot be found on the "100% items" run (which also has a wonderfully animated input)?

What is most inspiring is voting for/against a certain number of publications. That's just beyond bureaucracy.
It's not the number per se, it's that this run obsoletes three of them, and would feel wrong keeping three obsoleted movies due to the ratings they got before this movie appeared. I'm for recategorizing some, but not all.

So back when it was published, it was suggested that a NBMB run will obsolete it later (check the submission thread), and 14% will be obsoleted by another 14% run (going for in-game time, since that allows a unique route, considerably increasing its entertainment value when compared to the other categories). But with the high rating of the current in-game any%, and with all this discussion, how much of a chance does the 14% category to stay, and the in-game any% be obsoleted? This is the question.
There's no question in that, if following this site rules, this run should obsolete them all (save the 100% run), because it surpasses the goals of the others. Heavily glitched games also allow full run, but as there are already FOUR of these (three of which are already obsoleted by this one), the obvious step would be to keep this one and the full run. The real question, thus, is how to recategorize the other runs if consensus say that there are interesting enough to keep. Personally, I think "any% real time" and "low%" categories are superfluous and vote for their debatable obsoletion. I also vote against having 5 movies of this game.

Why not? Aren't "any% runs" just another way to call the fastest way to beat the game?
Because this run is what's commonly called "glitched", and letting it obsolete #7 & #16 highest rated movies out of the ~500 on the list would be just wrong.
I see what you mean, but why is this case different from the 1-star SuperMario 64 obsoleting the 16-star run?

This run won't obsolete the any% runs, so no worrying about that.

I'll still make that 14% some day, with all its fights.

Weak yes vote because the boring parts take a good chunk of the run.

I feel this movie is 12 minutes too long, but it's because I don't like the game.

I want to see this movie, but I simply don't have time this month to watch a 2-hour run. Meanwhile, I applaud the author for all his hard work. Congrats!!

For what the author wrote, I infer that if this isn't played as good as it could be, it is because the emulator doesn't work too well and he became tired of losing hard work to desynchs. The fact that the other run is on hold due to bugs on mupen seem to confirm how annoying working on this can be. I make the crazy suggestion of obsolete the current movie by this one, but keep this one rejected. Another crazy option is to obsolete this run by a yet to be produced TAS.

I agree, with the "right" director and big budget, a Zelda movie has huge potential to be equally good as Lord of the Rings. Another upcoming movie who share the same potential is Masters Of The Universe.
More like the potential to become Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

I prefer understandable text, and if almost all of the improvement is due just to shorter displayed text, I'll vote No on this run. Well, let's see. Had I done this on the english version, I would've saved over a second. Look at the previous submission. Look how optimal it is, and notice how short the run already is. I think a second of improvements would be worth it on that, and since I was able to save that much, why not do it on the japanese run, which also cut the time significantly by removing a lot of the boring text?
Well, straight from the rules:
Use the (U) version of a ROM unless there is a good reason not to (as an example a shortcut/trick which only works in a different version, or superior music), or the version does not exist. * If you decide to start to a run using a version other than (U), make a post on the forum detailing why — this is to prevent future complications. * If there already is a published video, do not use a different ROM than what it uses, unless the new ROM is obviously better, and you can show how it should be compared to the existing movie.
Shorter text in another language is not considered a reason good enough to swap ROMs last time I checked. A 1 second improvement is very good on its own, but as I understand, it could also have been done on an (U) rom. As thus, I vote NO on principle that movies shouldn't be obsoleted by language changes. It's nothing against you, just trying to keep things coherent. :)

My suggestion for the screenshot is on 2:12 on the youtube video, when professor Oak tells Ash that this room is where champions are "honored for their exploits". I would even suggest an animated GIF just to fit all text on the screenshot. I were waiting for this run, expecting a final time of about 45 minutes, and this is absolutely astounding! I got you, Gia! (o")º ( Ø )

This video is full of win. おめでとうございます! Runs like this make you want to play this game so badly, just to get frustrated because your character doesn't fly like in the movie. Haha.
