Yeah I played a lot of (single player, offline) d2 and did the guides, calculators etc etc like Tub, but I'm also not very interested in d3. A big part of that is the fact that it's all server side now, which totally sucks for us SP enthusiasts. That said, I did cave and bought it the night before it launched, I've played a couple hours and it seems like it might be an alright game. There's no chance I'll play it as much as d2 though.

Wait wait wait. So now we're only supposed to watch and rate a run if we think in advance that we will rate it highly? Then why do we even have a rating system if it's supposed to only be used by people who will rate highly, and not by any user who feels like it?
You should only watch and rate runs that you think you'll rate higher than at least 1 or so, yes. Or at the very least, if you're going to do so anyway, give a (fair) technical rating as well.

If grassini posts bad suggestions and you want to ignore him then go ahead Grunz, but don't stoop to SlowKing's superdouche level and say bullshit like "smartest kid in the thread" when his post is completely fine, wtf.

For some reason I've been listening to this Bridge Over Troubled Water cover (in swedish) recently. Pretty awesome iyam. Or, for the purists out there, there's always this.

I'm just as confused as you are.
I'm to, but not for the same reasons as either of you.
To be fair, I don't think you have any idea why I'm confused, but I guess it's quite likely we're confused about different things still.

FWIW I don't think the language thing is a huge issue. 12+ minutes of non-action is pretty sweet to get rid of, for sure. Also all the other arguments etc. That doesn't change how badly SL comes off in this and previous threads, of course, and I'm all for making fun of him for being a.. I'm going with whiny brat. As a moderator called him that, I figure it should be safe.

For the sake of argument (lol spider waffle), even if andrewg and skamastag indeed are huge cheaters (lol spider waffle) and use modified controllers to deceive the speedrunning community (lol spider waffle), that video still shows that l+r certainly is possible on a console without it crashing the game or whatever, which would make it different to whatever is being discussed in here. Edit: Unless we're bringing the possibility of a modded SNES console or a modded SMW game into the picture, in which case I guess you win :(

I don't know what exactly you qualify as "these new glitches", but an improved run without "new glitches" would be pretty damn different anyway, imo. That doesn't mean people wouldn't be interested in doing a run like that of course, which very well might be true. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing an improvement. It's about time!

Probably my favorite TAS of 2011, very much hoping other Sonic games get similar treatment from you, great work! I read through the entire thread just now, and I honestly don't understand what some of you people are smoking. Just a big giant enormous WTF to some of the comments in here.

My point is that if your English is weak, there's no need to apologize. Native English speakers understand and accept that many people in the world have weak English, and that it's nothing to get angry about. If you're being corrected, it's only to help others understand you better in the future, not to berate you for being bad.
This is probably true for most native speakers, but certainly not all. Old-timers might remember Xkeeper's particularly retarded views on the subject, which was my forum signature for years. Then there was the time when a very well-respected forum member continously made fun of some guy's english, to the point where my respect for said well-respected forum member dropped from ~89 to ~32, and hasn't moved back up, even years later. I have a bit of a sore spot for this issue I guess, since I find it an extremely douchtard'y thing to make fun of. Thankfully, like you say, most native speakers aren't douchetards.

Well since my last video was met by so much appreciation, I decided to make another one! Only piano in this one though. Link to video I hope you like it!

Hey guys I recorded a new piano (and song!) video yesterday, and after being unsure of whether I wanted to upload it publicly or not (singing is scary), here it is! Link to video I hope you like it!

Hey guys, Great use of the "shitty quotes from IRC" thread or whatever it's called! Edit: "Memorable IRC quotes" apparently.

An any% run of a very hotly contested and popular game like SMW, where pretty much any gained frames have been a pretty big deal for the last 3+ years, won't be seeing any 75 frame trade-offs for entertainment, I feel pretty certain. That doesn't mean it might not be cool, or that I wouldn't like to see a run like that for variety or whatever, but there's basically no chance it would ever obsolete the "real" any% run, I believe.

"I think it will be less useful than you think. Show me in smw96 where it would be good to use this to save time other than by spawning the goal sphere powerup on your first time through a level." "Jimsfriend said that this break wouldn't save time because of overworld transitions." Are we reading the same words? Am I some sort of super retard who doesn't understand what words mean? I'm really confused right now.

If you look at bahamete's post again, you'll notice that "most" is striked-out.
Right, and still it goes on to say jimsfriend should rethink his position, which is why I'm confused.

Hey guys, Very excited to see this thread was bumped! IronSlayer and Warp might want to take their discussion to some sort of "shitty debates that need to go away" thread though. Team Edward or Team Jacob?
