Hey VIPer good to see you again. You might also want to check out the new 120 exit Super Demo World run, made by jimsfriend who has come up with many of these newer tricks and techniques. It's a very good watch, like 4+ minutes faster than the old version by JXQ and myself.

Congratulations guys. Having followed the progress closely, I know how hard you've worked, how difficult it's been etc. You've done a tremendeous job, this run is sick and ridiculous and I'm glad to have been able to help out some. Certainly one of the most entertaining runs ever.

I have no objection to having runs (mine or others) on youtube. I enjoy the convenience and speed. Of course, unedited avi, link to the movie here, brief description of TASes etc.

This might belong in a separate discussion thread in the General section if you're serious about it. Personally, I don't think such a category is needed. I am not opposed to publishing a movie like that in the concept demo section though.

Hi Chalame, How many % does it typically take to get an A+ in your school? Please reply promptly, Fabian

Phil, If you work one hour a day on average, and Joe works 6 hours a day on average, after 5 days Joe will have worked 6 times more than you, even though you both have worked for "5 days". This is what I mean when I say that measuring in number of days (or weeks) is meaningless. Since I can't know how many hours you or Joe spend a day on average, it would be inaccurate to say "you both worked 5 days so you have put in the same amount of time/effort". This means that 2 weeks of very very hard work can be more time spent TASing than 6 months of occasional TASing.

Phil, "The important thing when measuring the amount of effort put into a movie (this assumes that this is a worthwhile thing to measure, which might be debatable) is number of work hours spent, not number of days spent." Agree / Disagree?

Phil, Only way to evaluate something like that is to look at number of hours spent, number of days doesn't say anything. A movie made in two weeks can be good (lots of hours if you work hard) and a movie made in 18 months can be very very bad. Etc.

Fastest way would probably be to duplicate a 1up-block in Yoshi's Island 2 90ish times. Or wherever the first 1up block can be found. Edit: Like this.

No idea if it's doable or not hanzou. As far as I know none of us done any real testing since it's a useless trick in pretty much any scenario.

If I had to speculate (and speculating is fun), I would guess N64 would have slightly lower average entertainment rating than Genesis. SNES and NES would destroy them. Game boy, no idea. Probably sucks too, but not as much as N64 and Genesis.

Yes. However, it's not in the concept demo section. Presumably, that is.

There are 35 yes votes, and 5 no votes to the question "Did you like watching this movie?" (at this point). I think that should be considered when you say the movie is not worth publishing. Saying it shouldn't be published ignores that over 85% of the people liked watching the movie.

Err... All I read here is that you do think it should be published, just like me, since I also agree it should be in the concept demo section... Like I said, I fully understand people voting no, but saying it shouldn't be published is something quite different.
If that's all you read, you missed the part where I said I don't think it should be published. Sorry to sound like a dickhead but I don't know what else to say here.

Baxter, you don't understand how someone can think this is not worth publishing, really? I don't think it's worth publishing. That's why I voted no. I don't know what to tell you if you really don't understand how I can think this. (Note: Make it a concept demo and I think it's worth publishing)

I watched 7 or 8 minutes of this. I didn't like it personally. If this was to be published as a concept demo, I'd be voting yes. I don't see that happening, all things considered, so I'm voting no. It's a nice accomplishment though, Angerfist and Baxter. Also, the other megaman dual run should be moved to concept demos, bla bla you've already heard this I know.

Saturn, I just meant, when considering quotes like these: <Saturn> It is 100% impossible to escape from there, I've tried. It can't be done I am 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure sure you can try but it's useless :) I don't understand why you keep doubting me etc etc, if it felt like a nice wakeup call that you maybe aren't the final godlike authority you thought you were, when it comes to Super Metroid. Of course you wanted it to work, as did we all, anything else would be ridiculous, obviously.

All fair points. To be honest I don't keep close track on who says what exactly in the various threads on this subject, so it's definitely possible you haven't brought up this point as many times as I indicated.

Yes, is has. I wonder if the people voting for a star took this into consideration though, since no one actually said: "this should get SMW any% star". On a slightly unrelated note, I also considered posting about this when people were saying the Mario64 16 star run should get a star (without mentioning the 120 star star).
I don't necessarily think people should be forced to mention "this should get SMW any% star" just becuase it's a point you keep making over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. The rest of your post I agree with.

Are the people who say this run should be starred suggesting that it needs to get the SMW any% star? If not, I would think it's a very bad idea to recommand more than one movie of the same game. If people see a starred SMW movie, and really like it, they will also be able to find the other SMW movies too.
