We will most likely not release WIPs. I am a big fan of the surprise element of improvements, which JXQ was fine with.

Zurreco, all good and reasonable points. All that is left is to answer this one question and this topic will never need discussing again: Is it impossible to split H2O? Edit: Heh I just found the first page of this thread. Good stuff :)

Warp, you seriously "don't understand" how people can have differing opinions? It's a pretty easy concept mate. Just reread the two pages you wrote on the murder beam and realize that almost everything you wrote is a matter of personal preference, and we should have no more problem. Also, basing most of your argument on the fact that it looks confusing to a newcomer on a message board where this applies to no one, including yourself, is pretty weird I think. Of course, that's just an opinion, and no big deal either way.

skamastaG and greginator, just to clarify, JXQ and I have been toying with the idea of doing this for some time now. It's not like we decided to do it just because you started working on it, not at all. greginator, if you recall our discussion last week about who would have first dibs on this run, this is the reason I brought that up in the first place, since I felt it was a weird decision of you when I knew JXQ had expressed interest in doing it himself.

BLJ's in SM64.
Is this some kind of weird third level sarcasm joke I'm not getting?

Just watched it, I think you should definitely submit it. Since it's a game many won't be familiar with, make sure to explain some basic stuff about saving time watchers may or may not catch. Good job.

Hey man thanks for joining, enjoy your stay. Requests do happen occassionally, but in general people do runs they're interested in themselves for one reason or another. So don't feel discouraged if no one would listen to your requests. If no one does show interest, I think you should definitely consider trying it out yourself!

So you've restarted? And are only done with the first level so far, which is why it's pointless to upload? Sounds cool anyway.

Other great ideas include minimalist (no coins powerups etc) SMW run and 100 skulltulla The Ocarina of Time run.

Seriously though djs, In general, the TASing community is not big on creating seperate categories for games. At least nowhere near as big as the speedrunning community, where you'll often find maybe 3-4 categories for popular games. The general philosophy here is that most of the time, the fastest category is the only needed category. Because of this, it is probably unlikely you'll find someone willing to commit to a project like this.

At ~7:30, would it be possible to swim higher up initially, so that you have more downwards speed when falling down? Would mean less bumping into the wall there. Anyway, looking good. Edit: Also, the gmv you uploaded didn't finish world 3. Also also, I don't recall anything about having to redo a level to get to the last world.

I thought there were way, way more Swedes and Finns than Norwegians here. Anyway, I have no idea where to start. Good luck though.

I think you're misunderstanding me. This "mid-air wobbling" is what I'm talking about, and is just as bad (in my eyes), as the "variations of left, frame, left, frame" used after the second boss battle. In fact, they look the same to me. Hope that clears it up.

What's going on around 2:40-2:50 and 3:40-3:55, if not the same thing as during the second boss battle? That's what I'm talking about, anyway.

I'm all for syncro dancing. If the dancing is wobbling though, I'm not all for it. To clarify, wobbling is when you press <- one frame, -> one frame, <- one frame, etc. Or something similar. Examples that stood out was when following that spider before the first boss, and at the first boss during downtime. Of course, if something saves time (glitching through enemies) there's no question about it. It's the unnecessary, "stylistic" wobbling I'm not all for.
