I tested them both and wrote down the difference, but I don't save that stuff so I can't remember exactly. I think it was in the 50-80 frame neighbourhood, so pretty significant.
Part of the reason the last few levels will be slow is becasue testing out various stuff with Yoshi is necessary. Like if at any time it's faster to start Yoshi flight, plus there's like 4 different methods for initiating Yoshi flight etc. Anyway, I'm thinking about it for these last few levels, in VoB2 it looked cool but was very slow (~60 frames). I'm guessing it will only be used in VoB3, but time will tell.
Anyway, I'm going away for about 2 days. Gl with the levels greginator.

Funny coincidence since I discovered you could go left literally 30 seconds ago and started thinking "hmm I wonder if this is faster? I have to test." Up until just now I had no idea so good thing you mentioned it :)

Being upset/ridiculing/making fun of/etc people's english when they're from a non-english speaking country is such an incredible dick move it pretty much automatically makes me hate the person in question. You could almost say it's the #1 way to make me go ballistic.

Tompa, didnt you work on CI3 small at one point? I'm curious what times you have gotten. I have gotten 261 with taking the pipe and 256 without taking the pipe, which is actually faster than the 261 in realtime. Also, are you still working on Chocolate Secret?
My OoT bittorrent is running at 340 KB/s. Way to many people want to see this movie. ;)
And again, anyone know how to edit out parts of a video using Media Player Classic? Or something similar?
I guess you could hexedit out the unwanted stuff from the .smv?
(I know absolutely nothing about video editing or hexediting or anything, really).

No idea about timeunits. I think I've checked them exactly once in my life, when I did Tubular with your left+right method, and reported the result over at SDA.
I took more coins than VIPer7 in the gate exit, meaning the last "room", with the gate, was different. It's the one with lots of those 1up-guys from room 2. "My" last room was 2 frames faster than VIPer7's last room, but my level overall is slower because of some manipulation needed to be able to run up to flying speed in room 3. To clarify, only the very last room is different from VIPer7's route.
Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to catch up when I go back to normal pace :)

Seriously though, 5 more levels done today. Pretty sick compared to my normal pace.
Edit: Wow I just counted, only 15 exits left!! Yesterday+today = 13 exits. I could finish this any day now!!

About CI1: Try not holding -> after entering the pipe just before the goal. Not sure how far you fly with that thing but hop glitching to the goal post (what is it like 1 jump) should definitely be faster if possible.

Done with the ghost house too. Although I have to double check if the old method for reaching the exit door is faster than my new cooler way. Shouldn't be though.
Edit: Old method was indeed slower. CI2 here I come!

Sorry. I imagine most files where all/most levels are done would also have completed the switch palaces, since it would be weird to skip them in normal game play when aiming for 96 exits.

I'm at Chocolate Island 1 now. I'm very happy to have the devil level (FoI2) behind me, I will never have to touch it again.
I almost managed to delete the two latest levels (FoI3b and Castle #5) because I'm an idiot, but the savestates in snes9x saved my ass, so no harm done. I like that program.

Very cool thanks Chef, I didn't know about this. When I got to the secret area, I tried flying <- again, under the normal level and flew all the way until the level ended. No secrets there unfortunately, just empty space.
