One concern I have about this is that you have the "flying hearts" cutscene twice, once after rescuing Daisy and the second time once you collect the 30th coin. I know the second one technically occurs after the last input, but couldn't you still skip the first one by getting all the coins you need before rescuing Daisy?

I also want to say that if it was up to me, I would create an All Dungeons branch for the old TAS since this one skips 5.5 of the dungeons.
I believe this kind of "All Dungeons"/"Any%" split has been done before in other Legend of Zelda games, but you might have to do a separate "All Dungeons" submission first before the category split can happen...

But would it even be legal to use it under the current rule set? If the problem is the length of loading times, most ZXS encodes either cut out the load time or allow someone to skip through it (via YouTube's scrubbing or timed comments) anyway. I feel like someone using a Dandanator would have an unfair advantage timing wise compared to someone using emulated versions of "authentic" hardware, and because of that it shouldn't be allowed here.

Spectral Tower is just one of those games begging for a BOT run, IMO. Maybe we don't have the programming architecture or computing power for that right now, but I imagine at some point a future equivalent of eien86 could break this game the same way Prince of Persia has been...

This might be decently programmed but dog slow compared to other games of this type like Cosmic Ark on the A2600 (and there's another homebrew game of the same type called Vault Assault)! Now that you have a bot for something like this, perhaps you could use it as a basis for TASing one of the two games I just mentioned? :)

I wonder if the title that is in the game database is the result of a bad or inaccurate Romanization attempt...

"2P with 1 GBA %" I don't think I've ever seen a more word-salady branch name on a submission before. Beg pardon for sounding like Spikestuff here, but you're gonna have to justify why "2P" on its own isn't good enough...

That maze-drawing routine reminds me somewhat of how the A2600 game Tunnel Runner drew their tunnels, only somewhat slower and without the ear-grating sound effects that game had...

Honestly, if it were me doing this game, I would've cut out the cutesy level intro and put the coding effort toward a bag-filling animation so that it looks more like Tapper instead of just throwing what looks like boxes down the "checkout lane"...

Looks like whoever did Snake Pit four years later learned from the programming mistakes made in this game. Either that, or their approach was simply more grounded in sanity than whatever's going on here... (shrug)

If we go past the goal, the game will go on indefinitely and you can rack up a very high amount of coins.
This sounds like a worthwhile (if not better) alternate goal choice for this game, assuming "very high" =/= unlimited...

For those who are confused as I was first seeing this, no this doesn't have anything to do with the luxury car brand. Cadillac is one of many aliases for the gambling card game Thirty-one. This game also got a sequel on the Game Boy that was localized as "Square Deal: The Game of Two Dimensional Poker". I very much would like to see a run of the aforementioned sequel, as well as determine if there's strategy insights that could be applied to runs of PuyoPuyo series games (where pairs of beans could be handled in a similar way to the cards in this game).

chatterbox, have you asked on a Steins;Gate focused forum or Discord server for some insights about the messages you're getting with the Konami code or how the hack creator might've intended the "true ending" to be reached? I'm sure that they would have some insight about these things you don't have right now...

I'm convinced that the slowdown from the meteor(?) that goes by in regular intervals was intentionally done as part of the challenge playing this game. :P

This is interesting given that it's clearly based on the Venture arcade game, which never got an "official" port to the C64 back in the day. However, someone has done a homebrew port in recent years - perhaps that version would be worth TASing at some point in the future?

I certainly like the idea, but I'm wondering how much time having extra players would really save, especially in the later levels where you can take care of things really quickly with powerups using just one player. Not to mention health management and stuff would be a lot more complicated; a three player run might do better as a playaround instead of aiming purely for speed. Aiming for maximum possible score instead of speed might be another category worth attempting. I believe you can also do the original arcade game now in MAMEHawk, but it would be a really long endeavor - the game goes through a 128 city loop five times before resetting back to Day 1.

Based on RTA evidence, the clip on the last key level appears to only be possible in Ruffle. This was also used in the previous submission.
Wouldn't this technically count as an "emulation error" and thus the game isn't being emulated well?

Call me a party pooper if you want, but I think this submission should be console-verified to make absolutely sure that being able to access Level 4 in this case isn't due to an emulation error...

For those not familiar with this game, this is based on a very popular but short lived TV series of the same name which basically gave roller derby the professional wrestling treatment. You play as a member of one of the "face" (to use the professional wrestling term) teams - T-Birds, Rockers or Hot Flash - to rescue the league owner who's been abducted by the "heel" teams - Bad Attitude, Violators and Maniacs. The basic gameplay is "a beat-em-up/platforming hybrid on roller skates" and it's an idea that's long overdue to reappear on modern indie games (or a remaster that leans heavily on the slice of late 80s cheesy goodness the TV series represented). Yes vote for me!

Anyone else reminded of Superman 64 and all the rings you had to fly through in the "kryptonite fog"? Yeah, this is the same level of "BS game design" - annoying and challenging in all the wrong ways! Between this and the RNG nightmare of Lincoln Green, it seems like their quality control standards started slipping near the end of the line...
