Earlier in this topic there's actually 2 videos posted that I did of this game, one of which gets everything and completes the game in 46 minutes, and another one with a couple of changes and stuff, which actually never got further than Toxic Seahorse, because I realized that if I were to continue, I might as well try to make a really good movie instead. If anyone would want to do this, I could plan out a route and such for the person, but I'd probably not do it myself since I'm actually doing a couple of other things right now. A really good video with some good planning and execution would probably take around 41-43 minutes, so the movie wouldn't be too long anyway. I'd very much like to see one being made.

The definition of ALL (100% run) would be all 8 heart tanks, all 4 sub tanks, all 4 armor capsules, the golden armor upgrade chip, and all 4 Ride armor suits. That's a lot, with some serious backtracking dependencies. Route planning alone would be brutal. (And Zero's saber. That's possibly backtracking as well)
Actually, only 2 stages (or 1) has to be backtracked to.

Assuming you do have the movie file, go to CPU -> Play movie/Resume record from savestate and open the movie file.

Yeah, but you also need the Yoshi doll, so it doesn't really matter, it's just that you wont have to revisit the mysterious forest before going into the Tail Cave, if you go to the other Link's Awakening topic then there's a movie file in the last post which will go up to the point where you get the key, if you have Virtual boy advance and a rom of course, it'll show that it's atleast a bit faster getting the key before magic powder, I hope. :) But getting a floating bomb pickup will make the game believe you have bombs, so if a monster drops a bomb, and you get it, you'll have bombs in your inventory.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/823/ Here's the new movie file, it was actually almost 2 seconds faster to enter Madam Meow Meow's house on the way to the sword, and thanks to JXQ, I didn't have to redo much at all, I'm eternally thankful to him. :) So I'm going to get the 50 rupees in the Mysterious forest, and the key, after that I'll go get the Yoshi doll and magic powder, ribbon and dog food, and on the way down to Tail cave I'll grab the bananas, we'll see if it's faster to do this before or after tail cave, but I guess it's faster to do before. If there's anything else I should do, you're welcome to point that out. Edit: I played a little bit more, and I just thought that there's actually alot of different paths that could be taken in the last couple of rooms, and it's also hard to know how much I should have to wait for the Moblin. But if you've got something to say about it, or something that might or you know is faster to do, you might as well tell me. :) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/830/

Just wait until he gets to that point, and you'll see. :)

Damn, I'll be redoing quite a bit then. ;D I guess I'll really be needing help on this one. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/820/ Oh, and I believe I found a faster way of getting the 50 rupees chest in the mysterious forest, I'll be going that way anyways. ;D We'll see how this turns out and what I'll use or not use.

Bomb arrows has it's own sprite, it can't be a bug in the game. But anyway, I played around with up+down and left+right today, and found out that if you hold the right directions, and use the pegasus boots, Link will run diagonally at a tremendous speed, should I take advantage of this, or not? And I also realized that you can lay a bomb, pick it up, teleport it away left or up (depending on which directions you're holding), and still have a bomb in your hands, meaning you can have 2+ bombs on screen at the same time, should I or should I not use this? Note: You can also pick up a bomb, pick it up, and Link will drop it, pick up a new bomb and have 2 bombs at your feet at once, it's pretty cool looking. One last thing, anyone knows if it's faster to walk up to the mysterious forest after getting the sword, or save & quitting? Or will I have to test it?

Me neither, but wouldn't it be easier if all demos were done on the same version of the game?

Oh, I didn't think of that. ;D I do use turbo a/b to see which is the first frame the chat disappears, but then I just did the A press on the first frame, later when the B skip comes in handy, it'll look cleaner, to me at least, and I guess that is what counts. :)

I actually tried this game, and made little movie, it isn't much, but someone who has 2 minutes to spare might want to see it. ;D I will probably continue playing later. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/818/ It's an easy game to play, but hard to do this way, but that also has to do with being able to move in 8 different directions.

I had to get hit by a spear to clear the first pit in my video, and by a rock to clear the second pit. I believe you have to walk out in the pit and get hit just before you fall. Monsters don't walk out in pits, and therefore I see no way of getting hit by a monster to boost over a pit.

Well, that's up to you, I think I'll make a full demo of this game, it might even end up half looking cool, the only problem is that it'll probably look like Maur's, only a little bit faster. I'll look into it, and see what I can do about it. And also, you (Maur) wrote Piece of power drops are mostly based on the number of kills, do you mean there's another way to manipulate their drops?

Just because I can. The novelty factor.
I do 99% of the things in my life for the same reason. ;D But really, I think you got to get hit by a projectile to be able to get over a hole, and I don't think there's a way to do that in all of the places in Tail cave. (The nightmare key for example, neither to get there, or getting back.)

I don't see why you would want to skip Roc's feather, there's alot of jumping in this game, though damage boosts may save time if you don't have the feather equipped.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/814/ There's a video here now if anyone wants to see it. It's not pretty, but it shows it's possible at least. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/815/ Here's something else that's probably not new either, I might want to do a movie of this game, it's pretty cool after all. :)

It will still save a trip up to the forest. (I hope you understand what I'm referring to.)

Wow, this is the coolest Mega man video I've ever seen, or maybe the coolest video game movie I've ever seen. I see no reason why this wouldn't be published.

They could just have posted a link to Megafrosts video, since if someone would want to see the whole game completed with 0%, I don't know why since it's not that different from 1%, only like 15 seconds of the game. I guess Nate saw this as an opportunity to express his hatred for TAS, which I think nobody gives a damn about. (Well I did... A little just now.) ;P But whatever, I'd also want to see an update of this video, and do post it with a new save state from where the last movie ended, it took a while to play it from the latest save state included in the last movie file even on fast forward.

Hmm, maybe you won't want to switch then, but I wasn't about to make the savestate delay a user-configurable option.
Too bad. ;D I don't think I'm gonna use anyone of the features in "v9", so I'll just stick with "v8" or whatever you decided to call it.

Well, as soon as you enter the door you wont be able to move before it's decided, so I'd say somewhere before entering the door. I was actually thinking of doing this game once, but I couldn't get Vile to do as I want too in the intro stage without wasting frames so I gave up.

You can charge a super jump at the upper ledge, jump/fall down and tackle through the gates.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/771/ If you really can't find it, watch this movie. I had to take a different route though, since I hadn't killed Crocomire, but I guess you'd recognize some of the rooms, and that you're able to find the way yourself. The movie was made 50% with turbo speed on. That's why I wait so long and miss ledges and stuff. ;D http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/772/ Here's also something else I find really cool, I believe I have talked to XtraX about it, but I'm not sure, if so, cred goes to him/her.

Well, I wrote Cannibal Corpse, and it plays mostly death metal, some times a little bit of black or death/thrash, there's nothing wrong with that, so I didn't care to try anything else, if it doesn't work out the way you want to when you write down your favourite music, just skip it. :) I don't know what Laibach is, but maybe there's nothing else that sounds like it. ;D

I really don't know what to say, I havn't directly compared it to any of the other games on that site, since it's impossible to compare 2 games to eachother, even if they're the same one in the bottom, since they're both in a completely different league, one being easy and one being near impossible. Don't ask me about that, ask someone who believes that it's possible to compare to completely different things to eachother. And no, I don't think you should accept a Metroid Legacy demo to be submitted here.

Since no one else mentioned it, you might want to check out www.pandora.com if you havn't already. It's a little like radio, only that you decide what music to listen to.
