May I ask what this hopping glitch is, and why it seems to be hated?

I actually found this movie really boring, but that's because of the game, it's not really Sonic to me. :( But it was very well done, so I guess it should be published anyway, since there seems to be people who do like the new Sonic games.

For L and R in Super Metroid, watch Samus actions, it's not hard, I'm actually so used to the 2 black screens that I feel uncomfortable when using other emulators.

Do you perhaps have an SMV file of your current progress, Saturn? I can't seem to download off of Rapidshare for some reason, never really figured out how. I find that site highly annoying..
He doesn't release .smv's, that's why the teasers even exist.

Play the game casually a couple of times, search the internet for secrets, shortcuts and such, then attempt it. Don't get caught uneducated.

I believe this means you should edit your submission instead of posting this on the forum. (Thanks to Shinryuu and what rom was used.) I've never submitted a movie, so I don't know how it works, but hopefully I'm right.

Awesome work, Saturn. The one thing I'm really eager to see, though, is the climb up to the entrance of lower Norfair. Though you'll probably wait until the release of the full smv before you let us see that, eh?
I can make a video of that for you if you havn't seen it, and if you want me to.

I suck at English, and I suck at Swedish, and I can't understand any other language, I tried spanish in school, but that didn't go too well. So... I guess it's really hard to communicate with me. ;D

I just had to show you all this, if someone didn't already do it. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/630/ I think it looks pretty neat, and it's faster than falling back down, I hope.

I used to try to resize but it takes Virtualdub forever to save if you don't use direct streaming mode, and then you can't use filters, but the quality is the same.
Let it, it doesn't take that long, maybe your computer is slow.

Thanks nitsuja. Here's my new WIP. The first level bit faster. And yeah, I've read the Boss guide, but despite of that I can't fight any bosses well. I think I'll ask somebody else.
Maybe you should try another game then...

Looks good, I'm sorry my videos and stuff I did couldn't help you in any way. ;D Well, since I love everything that has with Megaman to do, I wont vote, I don't really feel qualified to vote.

I've tested the thing in Gravity Beetles stage. (Before you did that stage, but it wasn't faster doing alternate sides, that's why I didn't mention it.) (Hey, I'm in the thanks section.) :)

I did that? One last edit: I've managed to improve the intro stage + boss by about 15 frames, but I can't upload a movie file since I lost all of my .smv's when my harddrive went kaboom on me.

You will have to climb so many pixels to get to the door that it'll most certainly take minutes, and under the rooms conditions, no I don't think so. :) Plus, if you go past the X-ray in the end, you can get it with screw attack and space jump. I don't know how you planned your route though.

Change from irc.freenode.net to 140.211.166.3. I can't check where right now, since I currently don't have any IRC client at all installed.

Thank you. No, I don't know of any areas earlier in the game. Passing through a ceiling requires a precise separation between the ceiling and the floor you are ducking on. So far that is the only place in the game I've found you can do that. You can freeze enemies and sometimes get out of certain rooms. So far nobody has found a trick of this sort that saves time in a speedrun, though.
That's not true. I saw a 100% console-run which used this "glitch" to get Spring Ball without Grappling Beam (by freezing a enemy). I assume you will do the same thing given the route you've taken.

We'll see, I haven't planned that far ahead yet.
There you go, from "Super Metroid 100% by MF." It would seem to me that either Michael Flatley doesn't know how to get spring ball without ice, or he's just keeping it for himself.

I just thought I'd ask if someone happens to have the number of frames you need to run across the floor to achieve maximum speed without speedbooster.

I decided to try this, but had to abandon it at the Gravity suit due to low hp. :( Oh, and I was ~1 minute ( about 4000 frames) ahead of Saturns 1:07 movie at this point. The only reason I was so low on hp was because it's completely impossible to play with the keyboard, and this is why I wrote I don't like playing Super Metroid emulated. :)
