You can deal 3 damage every second instead of 2, saving 300 frames or 5 seconds. Boomer Kuwanger will take 3 damage from a charged X-buster shot just like the penguin, potentially making it a fight just as fast as the penguin.

Wow, I can't even remember writing that. :P Sorry about that though, I must have been drunk or something. :(

I just got another idea, which involves going: Penguin dude, Boomerang guy, Chameleon, Storm eagle, and you know the rest, I think it would be faster, I think I'm gonna go for that, because the battle against the Boomerang boss certainly wont be 5 seconds longer just because I don't have the right weapon.

The Storm Tornado is useful for the giant sea serpent in Launch Octopus' stage, but other weapons may be useful as well.
I did realize that earlier today, and I went there trying to figure out a decent technique, but I couldn't. :/

Other than that, nothing else. You're doing this only to save 5 seconds off the Storm Eagle battle.
That's alot of time you know.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/494/ I made this little video, didn't take long, and the shooting isn't even optimized, but I think it shows that it might be possible that killing Spark mandrill as the second boss could be faster. Or is there any other stage you really need the tornardo?

I got an offer about signing up at this, though I see no real reason why someone would want me on their team, but I guess we'll see if I'm needed or not. :)

I hardly ever see hatred from the TAS community over the speedrunning community, so i don't see why there should be the opposite.
It's like "real metal" and NU-metal, the makers/listeners of "real metal" can't stand NU-metal because it's not as "true", but usually, Mallcore kids doesn't have anything against this "real metal", but some people like me listen to both NU and this "real metal", as well as I do "real" or realtime and tool assisted speedruns. But some people at Metroid2002, (Only using this as an example) despise these runs because they "make the speedrunning community look bad". (Oh, and btw, I got banned from there for defending bisqwit, maybe I was a little bit harsh, but whatever, the bottomline is that it was just really stupid.) Oh, and I was on probation for something I wrote, but another admin over there wrote about the same thing a couple of days later, it's pretty funny though, how he can, but I can't write it. Yes, I dislike them. For many reasons, therefore I might take party with bisqwit, so I don't know if you should believe everything I write.

I feel that a new name should be agreed on by both sides. The name I propose is "Cyborg Run", the verb form of which would be "To Borg a Run/Game". My reasoning, reposted from the thread on m2k2:
You can't possibly figure that out by yourself, "cyborg". Is it a game? A style? The format of the file? I don't know what thoughts will pop up in peoples minds, but you have to be stupid not to get what tool-assisted means, and if you don't, get into bisqwit's site and start reading, if you don't know, you'll only make a fool out of yourself. (Yes, I've learned that from experience.) No, I don't think it'll be any better.

And you actually didn't think I knew? If you go over at metroid2002's forum you'll find at least 500 posts by someone named "graveworm", and that's me.

Wow, this really isn't an active forum, but anyways, why havn't anyone done something like this, I think it might turn out really cool if someone attempts to do a serious demo of this. http://rapidshare.de/files/9061959/Metroid_Zero_Mission.vbm.html Note: This is not a serious attempt, and probably the worst movie file ever posted on the Nesvideos discussion forums.

Wow, that's pretty cool. :P But one team might get advantage is the other teams has players that doesn't know the game, and can't do anything. :/

Wow, I just did some comparing, and does anyone know why this occurs? It's the same frames, well I'm a bit faster, but whatever. The left ones is from my video and the right ones is FractalFusion. Same position. If you look carefully, you'll notice that I'm a bit more to the left, enough to delay me for 1 frame. :/

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/454/MMX2.smv Yay, managed to improve the intro stage by 7 frames, 1 in the stage, 3 on the boss and 3 more due to avoiding lag in the end. I had to do what FractalFusion did in his video with the ending shot, so it might look a little strange when I'm using the exact same strategy for the shot, but when it saves 3 frames, I think it's worth copying someone else. Now, to decide whether to do it with no enhancements/upgrades, or all enhancements upgrade. I wont battle Agile, Serges or Violen for Zero parts in any of the alternatives, since Agile will appear in Bubble crabs stage for both alternatives, and if you know what you have to do to spawn a mini-boss in Bubble Crabs stage, you will agree with me. Edit: I got to the latter part of Wire Sponge stage before I ran into a major problem, which leaves me to either restart or waste alot of frames. :/

Well, it's a timesaver, and all timesavers are good.

The glitch is the fact that he's taking damage when the ride armor is destroyed, so that he can move while Vile's hp is generating. Making it possible to hit it on the first possible frame, which does save a minor amount of time.

I did it myself, I thought it would be revelutionary for Super Metroid speedrunning, but it wasn't. :/ I'll upload my work if I can find it, I'm not sure, but it might be lost, I spent weeks on it, so I'm gonna cry if it's gone. :(

I must admit that it still seems a very daunting task. I think about everything that would need to be planned and it's overwhelming - but it's something I definitely want to try eventually. I'm going to at least work on SMB3 first.
I'll help you/work with you on it if you want me to. Just let me know if you want me to.

Btw, Phantoon first in an "any%" is not faster, even though it was thought it would be over at metroid2002, it's been tested thoroughly.

Hehe, I did post a message, but it seems to have been lost. :/ I'm redoing the intro stage, but it seems like I lose 1 frame in the room where you save X, after regaining control of X. :/ Is there any secret trick to use to move faster in the air?

The game doesn't count %'s, it's more like you must have all the items to be able to upgrade to the golden armor, but you could call it 100%, it's the same thing. Oh, and I never intend to submit anything, I'm just playing around. :) It'd be way to hard for me to do something that's worth submitting.

When Neon Tiger decides to jump or lands, his blinktime resets, though he doesn't stop blinking, but it's pretty much useless unless you use the Ice, which is very hard, and I guess it wont save that much time anyway. (You can hit it the frame he crouches when going for a jump and still damage it.) It's mostly to show that you can do it. Oh, and I seem to lack 1 frame in the Toxic seahorse battle, I even tried to copy your fight, but I couldn't get it too work, any idea why?

Just so that people will see this, I've played to Toxic Seahorse, so I'll post a new video up to that point. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/419/Mega%20Man%20X%203%20%28U%29.smv And post your progress dammit FractalFusion. :P

Oh, and I finished Neon Tiger yesterday, 526 frames faster than in my last video, giving me a ~1386 frames lead over the last one. I'm not planning to submit this, so please post all the tricks I missed and things I should improve.

Do Neon Tiger second then, and Tunnel Rhino third, it wont lose you any time, will it? Oh, and here's just a little something I yesterday and today. (I had all day to do it, and it took like 10 hours to do, it's much, but I just couldn't stop.) :) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/402/Mega%20Man%20X%203%20%28U%29.smv

It was so early in the fight that I couldn't get anything to work.
