One of the hellruns is rather lengthy though, I'll grant; the energy requirements might mean you'd need to grab more energy tanks, which might make it not worthwhile. But given how long it takes to get the Red Phazon...plus, going without is more impressive. :)
I tried to keep going without Red Phazon, and the result is: slower more than 1min ingame-timer ^^! The main reason is I can't acquire the 1st Phazon Missile under lava (if Samus suitless in lava, she loses 1 energy per 2 frames, but with Red Phazon, she loses 1 energy per 4 frames!) then I have to go back to POWERPLANT for the 1st Phazon Missile, and have to acquire Echo Beam (Wave Beam) also (there is a room requires to kill all the enemy :) . Furthermore, I have to go to PHAZON MINE 2 times, if suitless, the recharged energy will be 2 times more! :D

What was the highjump needed for?
:D I tried this too! I skip the Hi-Jump boots, and when I come back to PHAZON MINE the 2nd time, it's very waste frame to jump to some high-places, even I used Speed Booster to jump higher. And when acquiring Blue Phazon under water, without Hi-Jump Boots, I have to continuous walljump. In total, I wasted 11second to acquire Hi-Jump Boots, but in return, I'm faster than 1 second after acquiring Blue Phazon :)

I do have to wonder if it would be possible to manipulate Ridley to not go where you can't shoot him.
I can't manipulate this XD

I would personally be interested in a TAS walkthrough just to see if it's possible to beat the entire game with the starting deck. No deck / Duel runner modifications.
No modified deck?! o.O But the starter deck is so weak! Beating the game with that deck might be possible, but it will take long, and be sure of so many turns! So what's the goal?!
A, I got it now! Since you only play with Starter Deck, this will be the hardest difficult, right?! :D Great to see it!

I must say, those are very nice runs you have there. I wonder how manipulation works in this game...
:D As I found out myself, there are 3 tricks: - The 1st trick is: the last frame you end conversation before "rock, paper and scissors" will determine order of your cards! - The 2nd trick is: if you have a match duel, and you win the 1st duel, the last frame you press OK on the result table will determine order of the cards of your next duel, and who goes first as well! - The last trick is: when you buy a pack(s), the last frame you open the pack(s) will determine the cards you will received! :D I don't know about memory address but I think it's not necessary because in this game, all you need is LUCK and a suitable deck! :D

Now for the real cash question. Any chance you know of a memory address for the deck? Because knowing the decks data value would be nice to know if your RNG will give you the best draw you need to win as fast as possible.
No I don't know :D but I have manipulated to win in 2 turns, it's just a matter of frames! And of course you must build a suitable deck! Watch my Yu-Gi-Oh 2011 demonstration :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgmpUzYBVrE

If you could give tips or anything on how to manipulate the RNG so that I can DRAW good cards, it'd be appreciated. Because the only things I managed to have luck changing the RNG was win/loosing the coin flip.
No, it's impossible to manipulate "DRAW" card, the orders of the deck is already determined on the duel, it's only changed when you shuffer the deck! As I found out myself, there are 3 tricks: - The 1st trick is: the last frame you end conversation before "rock, paper and scissors" will determine order of your cards! Hope this help :)

I think it's not neccessary to watch oppornent's hand, with save/loadstates, you can know all the card his/her will play! And with TAS itself, build a powerful deck is not a major thing, because you can manipulate luck, so that you can draw a good card and oppornent cannot! To speed up the duel, you have to build a deck with many Equip Cards, and also the Monster that allows to strike twice per Battle Phase, with them you can win easily and quickly! Here is my walkthrough of this game: http://www.youtube.com/user/Hoandizi#p/c/A0C3BAB6BC336DCB Ideas are welcome :)

Have you tried this in PSXjin to see if the voices sound better?
Thanks! I've known PSXjin a few hours ago! And the sound is really better! From now I'll use PSXjin for my further TAS(es)!

A question though; after picking up the 6th book of the judges of something, isn't it possible to get the checkpoint to the left before getting the book and then reset before the conversation? Or is there no time to pause?
^^ Yeah that conversation cannot skip, even with reset! The conversation with Subodye when he's teaching Monkey cast spell on objects cannot skip too ^^!

I can't use kkapture to record movie!! It turns to wrong at some frames ~~! PSX is different than the other emulators! The sound and the frame didn't work together!

Try Xpadder. It simply maps keyboard buttons to your controller, so all applications, theoretically, should not see the difference.

^^! I'm not skilled enough to make it better! Maybe I should choose another game! By the way, please help me, I can't make the gamepad works when TASing the PS1, I can only use the keyboard, so it's hard and slow :(
