Menu skipping on the world map doesn't work. Moving in different directions does influence the rng yes, but also changing views does as well. Moving the camera around does too. During my testrun of this game, thanks to the lack of knowledge on world map encouters, I fell into random encounters inevitably because one step closer and I get it. I could have avoided it, but that would mean watching the whole thing while in fast forward until I get to it, which back then I didn't find worth while.

I can encode it. Is it on your user files? All I need is the movie file. And I'll see what I can do. I'll publish it if you want.

How about try to cast trinity? It requires Donald and goofy plus some keyblade to use. It deals a lot of damage, and it multi targets. Look into manipulating Donald and goofy to appear

Well, I've tased before. If you have the notes, I'll make a flawless run. I just won't be getting criticals. Misses are a definite no.

Hey chessjerk, didn't you get my PM a couple of months ago? A TAS request? I didn't ask for much luck manipulation for this game. Getting critical hits is such as pain!

In the last larxene battle, you had to get card broken there too. Maybe it's just inevitable. But then all other riku battles you managed to kill him without card breaks. But his deck was changed so you might as well accept the card breaks.

About riku, yeah, my suggestion before wasn't the best. Riku can be paralyzed. So if you use strike raid to paralyze him, he won't get a turn and you can kill him without worrying about getting attacked. Its cheap, and entertaining. Strike raid + ominslash!

As for the riku replica iv, I've noticed that ghostwheel used the darkside card to fix that issue with zero cards that riku possesses. You might want to look into it.

I typically just use windows movie maker to combine the files together. I don't know what operating system you are using and I also know nothing about Sony Vegas.

On my end, I don't see the video on your channel.

Just so that everyone knows, I'm not putting effort into the final battles. I will avoid card breaks and use somewhat reasonable strategies, but my main focus is rikus story line. That shall be fun.

I'm having trouble using your latest wip download. What settings are you using? And what emulator?

Charge-6 is an archers ability. It dealt like 90 damage that early in the game.

Hey guys! I'm working on a tas of this game as of now. Problem is file space on my computer.. Would anyone like to see it? Its made in psxjin2.0.2 Make sure to open the psxjin.ini file and change: [Plugins] PsxAuto= PsxType=0 To this: [Plugins] PsxAuto=1 PsxType=1 We don't really know how that fixes this game, but can't really complain that it works. Here is the file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/im0em80zgu2qvzz/fft.pjm?dl=0 Now dropbox removes the file after a certain amount of clicks. So be careful. I will make a new one if needed. I'm right past Arguary woods on chapter 2 and that's where the movie ends for now. My goal was to never have an ally miss and if an ally is defending, the enemy must miss the attack. Which is not that hard due to the unlikely hood of it actually hitting. Same thing goes if an enemy is defending. If they're defending, you must hit the enemy. Not too difficult if you got some patience. The second goal was to get past more than 1 random encounter per save state. As it takes time to stop and manipulate it once again. I'm using the outdated speed walkthrough on gamefaqs to get through this game. I'm already 10 minutes ahead of the "best" time on there. Or even more than that. Idk. He only shows the best time after every chapter because he knows that we can tell what he did within those times. I'm curios to know if he used the PAL version. I got a couple of critical hits throughout the run(unintentionally) meaning I didn't really have the patience to get a critical hit. I got a critical charge-6 on miludo(or whatever her name is) in the second battle with her. That is so low to happen. Let alone have it hit period. The charges never missed. I mean, their hit percentage is pretty low so I guess I got real lucky not having to manipulate it. I tried to manipulate "guest" movement. Like I wanted that chocobo to hit the goblin captain but he just wouldn't do it. Anyways, I would really appreciate it if someone can combine all those movie files it creates into a single avi file. I just use windows movie maker. And send it over to me as soon as possible. [Edit] that run is truly awful. I forgot to change the settings at the beginning.. I could have saved probably an hour if I done that.. Very embarrassing I know.. It's like if I played a role playing game and forgot to set text speed to fastest. You would lose hours worth of time forgetting that..

Nice! Yeah, vexen can be a pain in this game. Just gotta hope he doesn't cast auto-life. And being that this is tas, you don't have to worry about card breaks. So, you're using the beyond risky route? Because ghostwheel does have a guide on the risky route. [Edit] You are 1 hour ahead of ghostwheel! Off his RTA run on youtube.

It was probably a premium card. And I'm playing the ps3 version. I have played the gba version, but that was like back in 2006.

Very nice. Yeah, those drops are a lot more better than shopping is. Question about that riku replica, does reloading bring back summon cards? This didn't work in the remastered version, as you had to use some restore card to get it back. Or does that just happen if it breaks?

Well, that movie does skip cutscenes and uses frame advance. I really doubt any human being can select things that quickly. Too bad my computer can't handle ps2 games with my shitty Dual Core and shitty graphics card.

Sorry about the double post. I completed my slots test run of the game. I used only menu skipping to skip encounters. I did fall into redoing some battles on accident(twice). Aps and the attack squad battle that can be escaped. I didn't get a perfect elevator outcome because I was unaware that all you had to do was get the right numbers. I thought that the enemies or the employees would be random too. I didn't do any extreme luck manipulation. Crits in every battle, steal anything I can, etc. But getting crits is just as easy as stealing is. Its all cpu based. I did start getting first turns once I got to Jenova Birth. Getting those first turns became a real pain during disc 2. Here's disc 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVXwvhu5PPE You can watch the rest on the other videos on my channel. During the snowboarding mini game, I will not accept any crashes in that. It would be really embarrassing if I did. My time at the end was 7:38(somewhere around that). Yeah, I know, the world record is much more than that with RTA, but, I didn't do much encounter manipulation, which is apparently vital in this speedrun. Seriously, you lose like an hour worth of time overlooking that.

So you're trying to figure out getting keyblades and other items without moogle shopping and using object wacking instead? Doesn't jumping influence the RNG?

As for slots, I learned that when you fail game over(or just do something else before game over), the timing is the same for the rest. Like after the first one, the timing is the same as you got for the second one. Also, in garlands video, he said to find Moogle in the second reel, you actually just need to press O once the cait face is showing up. In fact, it seems like garlands video isn't entire true. Don't get me wrong, its helpful, but I don't think its very accurate.
