The fact that you need hoverboots means it not applicable to a TAS since you'll either need a load of bombchus so you can bombhover into the Shadow Temple and get the hoverboots or go through a long trade sequence as YL so you can RBA the boots in.

to get it synch, make sure you have the (U) (V1.0) ROM and mempak enabled. if glN64 0.4.1 is problematic, you can use Direct64. synched for me so far.
You're refering to the wrong WIP, which reminds me. Did he remember to disable mempak.
I was referring to Bloobiebla's WIP. how is that the "wrong WIP"? and nope he didn't.

why not a seperate publication? 100% vs any% we have those all over the site. 100% being defined here as all temples completed and all Wings of Ganon's Castle. As opposed to all items and gold skultulas and blah blah omg thats too much crap.
There would just be 3 categories: any%, all temples, and then 100%. Much like how ALttP has the long and short version. The goals should be fairly clear. Completes all dungeons and the 6 trials in Ganon's Castle. You can do whatever you like, as long as you do the above. At least that's how I see it.
I absolutely agree. I'm still waiting for the avi, btw. If anyone decides to encode it, it would be much appreciated.

I might make an mkv eventually if someone doesn't beat me to it (likely, since I haven't encoded in months). I just watched it and it looks really tight for a first-time tas.
please do.

Well since the topic has been recently been brought up, I've been working on an all stones/medals TAS regardless of it being on the site or not, although I am not very well known in the OoT community... Just one thing, should it be a "no major skips", which includes all Ganon trials, or an "all stones/medals, which would leave out the trials?
please finish this. if you do a good job on this, it will be my favorite TAS ever. you shouldn't skip the trials.

isn't there two BLJ's that can be improved? the one into BitDW and the one into PSS. that's 4-5 seconds.

Actually if you choose the "Pause at frame" option, start fast-forwarding with TAB, and while you're holding TAB click outside the Mupen window, it'll keep fast-forwarding and you're free to do whatever you want.
what do you prefer? waiting half an hour to get to that point while mupen eats cpu, or skipping right to that point/getting there much faster without eating cpu? damn it, you guys sure like arguing. you know that a feature like that would be useful.

I thought TAS Input Plugin is included with modified Mupen64 package. You should be able to find download link somewhere if you use forum search.
It's not, for some reason. I remember that google had over 500 searches for the exact phrase
"TAS input plugin 0.6" download
<.< shouldn't it be included?

Jump to frame is sort of the same as this: as for turbo, try the TAB key. If that does nothing, turn off "Sync game to Audio" in your Audio plugin settings.
In a one and a half hour run on a slow comp? :@ anyways, I realized that "jump to frame" won't be possible, since a m64 only contains the input. Frame skip would be very useful though, to allow faster FFing.

And last, but not least, we have very many viewers here who are not used to TASes that are that long. SDA may have plenty of runs that exceed 4 hours, especially since they speedrun many newer console games that are longer. (No longer are the days of NES games beaten in 10 minutes.) So, from the various people I speak with, only OoT enthusiasts will have the energy to watch the entire thing. Yautja's run is beautifully set up in segments, none reaching more than 20ish minutes. It is unlikely someone will watch a 5ish hour movie file without getting bored. I know certainly I would, but I am unique (in that I have a low attention span yet still can watch longer movies than most members here.) The last negative part about 100% is that it is evenly divided between amazing, fast paced segments that are sheer enjoyment to watch, and then the other half is not as much cool action going on. I wasn't paying as much attention to, for example, segments at night where Yautja was Gold Skulltula collecting; it was dark, there was no music, and minutes of walking to the gold skulltulas got me a little bored. The Temples were also hotspots of action, but in between it often dragged on, and there's only 8 dungeons and a few mini dungeons.
My thoughts exactly. An "all dungeons" run will have the wonderful fast paced segments, without days and days of skulltula killing. I can't imagine a more entertaining TAS, of any game. I'm not saying a BA run will be bad, but if it means that the run I was looking forward to never will be made, I wish it was never discovered.

I think 100% should be everything completed - All items, upgrades and collectables, completed Bombers' Notebook. And all temples completed of course. Maps are not necessary.

Too many categories gets confusing.
I can't see how that's too many categories. There would be one that glitches through the entire game, one that plays through the game without the recently discovered sequence breaks, and one that collects every collectable in the game. All three would be entertaining and definitely worth a submission.

I agree. IMO, the most entertaining run would be one that completes all dungeons, without collecting all heart pieces and skulltula tokens. There should be three categories: DoT skip/BA, non DoT skip/BA, 100%.

I would like to see a "jump to frame" function in movies. or frame skip, to allow faster FFing.

everything's the same I think, only difference is that the cutscenes will be a bit weird with AL.

(correct me if Im wrong) What you do to get the ocarina is get the 3 stones through BA, then get the ocarina of time. Now that I think about it though, it may not be needed at all anymore, because the main reason you needed it before is in the process of becoming an adult, so unless there is something I missed (very possible), I dont even think it will be needed.
you can use bottles as an ocarina. you can also play on any other item, but you need a bottle with a fish/bug for the glitch to work.

just found out that the graphics alternate between updating every frame and every second frame. how annoying. at least it didn't desynch in 4 minutes of walking around randomly.

I want to start the project now. But there's some obstacles. First I'm gonna play through the game to learn the controls and stages better. (I haven't played it in a long time). Unfortunately the game lags a lot. In big rooms it slows down to 15 FPS. (there was some lag on console too IIRC) And the graphics update every second time I press FA. Tedious and might cause desynchs (?) So I'll put this on hold for now.

To say the least. It would be possible to beat the game without completing a single dungeon.
