I did this without slowdown but it's highly unlikely that anyone could do this without save states. I can imagine beating draygon and the other bosses without states but Golden Torizo and Ridley are just impossible. You'll just burn yourself out even trying.

A) It won't take you more than a minute to get the hack, whereas it WILL take more than a minute to encode the movie into an AVI file.
B) There is nothing illegal about BitTorrent. It's perfectly legal in every way.

I agree that the puzzles are well made and inventive, but I don't think anyone will get any satisfaction out of the solution when they haven't had any time to think about the puzzle themselves. In the time it takes the TASer to solve the puzzle, the viewer doesn't have time to think about it at all. And if you're relying on the animations for entertainment.. well that just shows how doomed this TAS is, seeing how the animations are probably intended for 6-year-olds :)

That writeup wasn't really very fun to read, it seemed to me that you were just griping for the sake of griping. I've never thought that there is too much stuff on the screen. Some areas of the game might be dark, yes, but I think that just creates a specific kind of atmosphere. No place where you have to fight loads of enemies is too dark. The controls for me are very intuitive, although I must admit that using the D-pad is kinda slow. I don't understand why you are complaining about the visors. Would you prefer that nothing change on the screen? The visors are supposed to be unique and have their own defincies, the whole point of using the x-ray visor is that it's not as easy to see the surroundings as when using the normal visor. I do agree with one of your points wholeheartedly: The disappearing chozo ghosts are a bitch to kill and it's extremely annoying when they respawn immediately after you leave the room.
I wasn't thrilled about Prime being in 3D either but once I got the hang of it it was really fun to play. I'm extremely glad it was not made in third person. There are NO third-person games with good controls. Even in the good third-person games (for ex. OoT, MDK) the controls are always slippery and impossible to use precisely (except for maybe Tomb Raider but there the controls are just stiff).

I just checked myself and you can make it. There is one difficult jump (the jump from near the top door to the next block on the right) which requires you to make a specific type of jump. First position yourself like this: jump up in the air while facing right, in the air face left and land on the very right edge of the platform. From here when you first turn around, you will drop a tiny bit downwards before you start falling. You can still jump during this tiny drop even though you are standing on air. This way you get to jump from a lower position than the platform actually allows. Sorry if I was unclear but this is the best explanation I can give. Good luck!
EDIT: I just checked and you can make it even without the hi-jump boots.

One definitely underrated movie is Dacicus' and Ferret Warlord's Wizards and Warriors 3. Not many people understand how greatly the game is sequence broken in the movie. I guess not many people have played it. The movie is one of my all-time favorites.

I didn't find this hack hard, although I did use some save states in especially tricky places. While I'm at it, can anyone help me with the secret exit of "Ruined Ruins"? I have played through it almost 10 times now and I just can't find it.

Game completed with 86 exits. I must say I enjoy playing this hack very much. It's not as complex as SDW, but I kinda like that aspect about this game as it emphasises the basic platform jumping more. The levels are a bit too straightforward, though, and they could use a little more variation. Still, I like this one even better than SDW. That one was just too hard for me to enjoy it completely.
EDIT: And by hard I mean hard in an annoying way.

This I don't understand at all. The games don't resemble each other one bit, how can you say they're the same? The main entertainment factors in the SMB2 run are the tricks and glitches, none of which are present in SMB3.
Even though I played both games as a kid, the runs are just plain boring to me. I don't really know what else to say.
It's been a while since I watched this run but as far as I can remember this was some pretty damn fast action. The use of the hook was just amazing.
Right.
