I think this has gone too far. Since when has the author been an issue? Personally I couldn't care less whether this was Sleepz's or Phil's movie, I'd still vote yes because this movie is, in my opinion, better than the existing one. And this is mainly due to its length. It's not like Sleepz's work has been for nothing. Of course people will remember that the previous version was done by Sleepz. That was the movie that inspired Phil to make an even better movie, and I am very disappointed in the way Sleepz has reacted to Phil's movie. Of course, no one's ever obsoleted MY movie by less than a second, so I can't claim to fully understand how Sleepz is feeling.

I still don't get what you mean. I was able to complete World 4 Level 1 with no trouble. What was the exact part you had trouble with? I haven't yet tried World 4 level 5. EDIT: No trouble with W4 L5 either. Just use the bullets to jump over the tall pipes. EDIT2: You were right about the World 4 boss, the wand seems to be unreachable, even with a P-wing. Seems like the author of the hack hasn't even played through the game. It just shows that the hack was just done for the heck of it, not for playing.

I don't quite see what you mean here, I could kill the boss and get the wand just fine. I played to the end of World 2 to get the other whistle and then warped to World 8. I still have a save in World 2 so I was thinking about playing a bit more. I'd really want to see a run of this just because it's so ridiculously hard.

i highly doubt there are any warps due to the fact that there are no stations where u can get upgrades..
You can get the whistle in level 3 just as in the real game. The funny thing is, you can warp straight to World 8 from World 1. You just have to get past 6 hands (like the 3 in the real game in World 8) in order to do it. Didn't try the double warp though. EDIT: Just tried using the other whistle in the warping screen, and it enables you to skip the first 3 worlds, so that you only have 3 hands to go. I also warped to World 8 and beat the game. It seemed that World 1 was a lot harder than 8. The last castle and boss were pretty much the same as in the real game, although there were 2 Bowsers in the last room, and the other one was invisible.

A quarter of an inch, like 1/4" maybe? EDIT: Oh and to answer the question in the topic I'm something like 1,70 meters tall.

I don't think I'm up to finishing anything right now. I'm starting to lose interest in both making these videos and even watching them. They just don't feel that special anymore. Anyway, in case you are interested and perhaps someday plan on making a new version, the biggest reason for me being ahead of your wip was that I killed the level 1 miniboss with the tri-missiles I (and you) got from the iron head enemies before the level 1 boss. It is considerably faster to use them (and only them) on the miniboss.

I'm glad you finished this. I started a version of my own and I was something like 90 frames ahead of your WIP (in the Blaster Master thread) at the beginning of stage 2, but I couldn't do the climbing part in stage 2 nearly as fast as you and I didn't have the patience that you obviously do.

This run will include 6-E Masterpiece Set. You can hit start immediately before Bowser's defeat (ie.one frame before you can no longer bring up the pause screen), close the pause screen and hit start+select at exactly the same time as soon as the screen starts to reappear. You'll exit the last castle and appear on the world map, with the Extra 6 and Bonus 6 unlocked (based on the assumption that you have 100 score on the levels).

Yay you've started a 100% run! Looking absolutely awesome so far, a lot better than the any% run. Hope you have what it takes to finish this.

Yoshi's Island 100% all the way. Spezzafer's any% run was already impressive, but a perfect 100% would really have some incredible maneuvers. A 100% Super Metroid would also be nice.

It's not very tempting to try to improve a Mega Man movie, because they look pretty well done, and it's not easy to detect possible improvements. Most of the improvements would probably have to be strategic and tactical (i.e route planning and such) instead of performance-related (better jumping etc). It's a lot more difficult to assess what the best route is than to spot some imperfect moves. But I agree, Mega Man games really should be tried.

Great suggestions from everyone. I myself have been tempted to try and improve Chip & Dale and Duck Tales runs because of their shortness and simplicity. If there's something I've learned from these videos it's that even though something looks pretty much perfect it might be far from it.

I saw Michael's classic game topic there and because I prefer improvements of old runs to runs of new games, I just couldn't resist creating a new topic. I also hope that people could get ideas from other people and be inspired to try and improve something. So, what do you think are the runs that could be improved the most? I know that Blaster Master is definitely improvable, perhaps by even minutes. My Mega Man 6 run also has some room for improvement especially in the end. These movies were both made with Famtasia, so I'm sure that FCEU would be a great advantage, as with all Famtasia movies. The oldest runs (for example Solomon's Key and the NES Kirby) probably have much room for improvement, since I don't think they even use the 60fps patch.

Is this still in progress? Along with the 100% SM run, this is one of the most anticipated runs on my list. I can't wait to see more.

CONS: Less control of Samus - The PAL version is 10fps slower. This means that I have less frames to work with in the same amount of time. Samus may run faster but a maneuver requiring a certain number of frames would be inherently slower in the PAL version. There is also the possibility that I can't do tricks in the PAL version that I could do in the US version. Run validity - It may be the case that serious speedrunners frown on this version of the game. I want my run to gain respect. If people think my fast completion time is only due to the European version of the game then I've wasted my time. Lost time - I'll have to start over! But I've done it so many times already, it shouldn't take me long to get back to where I'm at now. If I were to start over now is the time. UPDATE: It seems you do not run faster in the PAL version. The door in the bomb room must be set to close after a certain number of frames. You can make it through that door because there are less fps. You don't run faster, the door closes slower. Also, as I had predicted the ten less fps causes you to have less control of Samus. Having fewer frames as input slows you down. I could not come close to the escape time I produced in the US version. I've decided that switching versions isn't worth the bomb room alone. I will probably make up most of the time saved in that room by having the extra frames for input. I'll continue my current run under the 'more legit' US version. This is probably all for the best, 50fps seemed a little choppy to me anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly with jxq2000. If the stars are meant as guidance for newbies, Umihara Kawase really shouldn't have one. It really isn't that impressive for people who haven't played the game (and there are not that many people who have). Bionic Commando on the other hand is much more easy to understand and get a grasp of, even if one hasn't played the game.

Level 3 boss? I don't think I've ever died there, but the level 6 boss is another matter. I never got past it. Blaster Master was one of the few games I owned as a kid and played it for years without making it past level 6. I don't understand how anyone can dodge those white things it throws.

This was pretty okay. I'm not sure if I would ever want to watch it again but this is a major improvement over your last version. It's not the movie itself or your playing that makes me vote NO, it's the fact that the concept really isn't that appealing. Even though the movie was played fine, it was still extremely boring (especially when compared to the action-packed version by Phil and Genisto). It just doesn't have anything special. Except perhaps the rerecord count which is really low, but that really isn't anything impressive.

I wasn't being harsh. Why should this be published since this is slower than the one published on the site?

I found this extremely entertaining. There were some inconsistancies though: sometimes you walked diagonally up+left even though you just said it's not profitable. In Turtle Rock you sometimes used the cane to cross gaps, other times you levitated across them. There were many more small mistakes that don't come to my mind right now, but I didn't notice any major screw ups. There was one thing that bugged me but I'm not really sure about this since I wasn't paying close attention when this happened: After you flew to the swamp using the bird, did you first grab and throw the wrong stone and then the right one? It seems impossible that a mistake like this could have made its way into the movie but somehow I was left with this image in my head. I think this is worth publishing. It seems to have some flaws in it and it sort of looks like it's pretty much hunch-based (even though you seem to have made some calculations about some things) but damn does it look cool! In my opinion the pros are waaay bigger than the cons and this is definitely a must see for any Zelda fan. There were so many ooh and aah moments that I lost count. I especially loved your fighting strategies and routes. Great job!

I've been craving to do a new video and I think this might be a good choice since namflow obviously isn't around anymore. I can only work on this for like 2 hours a week but I hope I'll get something done eventually. I, too noticed some room for improvement in the areas you mentioned, Truncated, but I would still really like to see your suggestions, just to be sure I'm not missing anything.
