Just be sure to rain destruction on those goombas and koopas just like you did last time. That was the best aspect of the video.

Yeah, a Speed Booster 14% would be pretty damn boring, even though interesting. I reckon you also need to have the blue suit to skip the Zebetites without the Ice Beam, so it would mean no running from Draygon's lair to Mother Brain.

But if you want to do a 14% run without the Speed Booster, you won't have that many Power Bombs even in the end. It's painstaking work to gather all the metroids in one bunch and then killing them with Power Bombs. IIRC they die from 3 of them, so you would have to restock at every turn (I can't remember whether the metroids drop them, but somehow I have a feeling they don't).

If what Truncated is saying is true, then why is this being queued for encoding? Bisqwit?

Sorry if this insults you in any way, but from now on could you please use some periods (.) so your text would actually be readable? Thanks.

I think the Monopoly movie is just silly. I mean, the point is to complete the game as fast as possible, not to make the shortest movie possible, right? The movie itself shouldn't matter as much as the game. The computer's turn is a big part of the game. Thus it should be a big part of the movie as well.

Be that as it may, the game is still completed in 53 seconds, not in 35.

It would not be hard at all to beat Jecy's (Samus Aran's) run because he fooled around with the beams as well as the ethecoons and the dachora(sp?).

I think the biggest issue is that the game isn't really completed in the reported time. Currently we say for example "NES Monopoly completed in 00:35 Acmlm", but this isn't really true since the game is not completed until the computer is bankrupt, which doesn't happen for another 18 seconds.

Why would anyone not use it if it was allowed?

But this is not the case here. The save is immediately at the beginning and other movies could easily do the same thing. The starting moment is specific and every single save like this starts from the same point. I can't see anything wrong with the use of a save like this.

There is one serious issue here. The movie starts from a save, avoiding the opening demo (Frenom's version goes through it). I believe this is a violation of the rules. However, I still think this should be published. The in-game time is clearly shorter than in Frenom's movie, and even though this is still full of small mistakes (needless mockballing, inaccurate jumps, slow menus, ending the game late) it's better than the existing movie. I voted yes.

IMO the fact that he didn't collect all coins made the video even better. For example in 8-1 he jumps under the coins but over the large pits. This to me expresses way more skill to me than just jumping higher and collecting the coins. My vote is yes.

I was playing SMW and thought of something. In VD3 (I think, it's the lava level with the Blarggs) there are slow moving rafts that you must ride. However, halfway through the stage there is a Yoshi and a red shell BUT if you have completed the special stages the shell is actually blue. Flying through the rest of the stage with the Yoshi is extremely fast when compared to the slow moving skull rafts. Have you taken this into consideration? The way I see it you should either have a blue yoshi or have beaten the special stages to take advantage of this. EDIT: There might be similar problems with other stages as well, but I can't think of any right now. I guess they should all be checked.

The beetle is waking up. See how it's shaking? If he held it any longer, it would wake up and do damage to him. EDIT: Perhaps it would be possible to throw the shell against a wall at some point in the water and then grab it again? Would this be any faster?

Does "Assisted, creation through Hell Baal" mean that you can have people waiting at crucial points in the games already, or do you have to start the games yourself? I can't see any other way to get this done so fast.

I have been a little baffled by the recommendations as well. IMO Zelda, HnF, Metroid and DKC(both movies) definitely deserve to have that little star. And how about SMB? I wouldn't rob SCV4 of it's star, though. That's one hell of a movie.

By "traditional" swimming I just meant swimming without the shell. Sorry that I couldn't explain it better.

It's faster to swim upwards if you're not holding anything. In your movie, in VD2, before you hit the block with the vine, you swim up holding a shell. You should throw it away earlier and swim "traditionally". It also looks like you're slowing down too much when hitting the fish with your cape, but it may just be me seeing things. Also, would it be faster to hit the P-block and just start running while whacking the koopas with your cape? Otherwise it looks great, I can't spot any mistakes. I especially liked how you flew backwards and hit that P-block in VD2.

Some do, but Cactrots don't. I remember the 1000 needles attack being quite rare actually.

..or will he? Metroid 2: The Return of Ridley coming soon! Starring: Tori Spelling as Samus and Pierce Brosnan as her lover (who in the beginning of the movie gets killed by Ridley in front of Samus, which of course causes Samus to go after Ridley).

I voted no. IMO beat 'em ups just don't make good timeattacks. A big part of the action happens out of screen and basically it's just repeating the same moves over and over (and even if every single move in the game was used, it'd still be boring). I doubt I will ever see an entertaining beat 'em up timeattack (save for River City Ransom). Anyway, I'd say my no vote is about 20% your fault, 80% game's fault. You hesitated, missed punches and it was evident that the boss battles could have been done faster. You don't start hitting the bosses immediately after they get up. At some points you also didn't use your super immediately after getting it even though you were not saving it for anything better. You should have used it as soon as you got it so that a new one would have started forming. Oh, and I think you should have used those special moves you mentioned even though they consume your health. It would have brought just a tiny bit of diversity into the movie. In conclusion: you could not have salvaged this game. My vote would still have most probably been no even if all those points I mentioned were corrected.
