I voted "yes" because it's an entertaining run that obsoletes the old DT2 TAS.

Can the TAS videos be copyrighted or trademarked? HG, pirate_sephiroth and I were talking about it in IRC tonight. Would it be possible to copyright a video that contains images, characters and a game that we don't have rights to? I'm being pessimistic, but if it was possible then preventing other people from using the vidoes made here could be a reality. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that all we can technically claim as our own are the buttons pressed.

You have to play through the game twice in order to see the ending and 'officially' finish it. The current TAS on the site for this game only plays through once.

Any chance your runs are going to be full?

It would probably be a far greater hassle to try and remove a watermark that's present throughout the video then to remove the introduction and the occational text.

The chest always spawns X pixels away from Scrooge.

We can attempt to get individual movies removed with some success, but I can't think of a strategy to dissuade people from ripping off TASvideos overall. I like the video idea, but I question its effectiveness.

Check that guys profile and you'll see people typing in requests in his user coments. Some people think he makes the runs, but if the viewers on YouTube aren't smart enough to figure out who makes the videos from the short intro at beginning, he's only impressing the dumb people.

This is very off topic, but did you read the novel? I loved it and the movie!

I always thought that calling it "flaming" was a retarded name.
Does anyone know where the use of "flame" as an insult originated? I'm just curious because it seems like an odd term to use.

Nice job on the commentary JXQ. I definitely laughed out loud and enjoyed it. The sandwich and Cheeze-Its cracked me up. I didn't think you'd have the audacity to eat and commentate simultaneously! Now I just have to get this avi going to go with it.

If a song is important / notable enough, why shouldn't it have an article? Obviously, not every track on every CD ever released deserves an entry, but if it's somehow notable...
How or who decides what is notable enough to put on Wiki or not? This method is arbitrary. It would be more logical to allow all well written and accurate articles about videogames/hardware/music/etc to be put up on the site, or to allow no articles on said topics and put them on a seperate Wiki all together as DrJones suggested. No one will ever agree on what is notable or not, so that system will only breed disputes.

I've learned that many people underestimate what a flame response can achieve, or overestimate what being polite can achieve.
Personally, I would be better persuaded by a polite and reasonable request rather than by flames. I'd say that the flame response might work in certain situations, but I don't think it's probably the best way to begin a dispute since there's a good chance that the situation can start to very ugly real fast. It's better to at least start out in a civil manner; save the brute tactics for later if polite requests do not work. It would be nice if people didn't start at the level of flaming his YouTube profile to get him to delete the vid removed because it doesn't reflect well on the community as a whole as Omega pointed out. I'd also like to point out that it was Halamantariel's tactful conversation that got our desired result--not the flames.

I'm doubting the effectiveness of the flame comments (but they're still great for a laugh). I tried instant messaging him last night at 3 AM or so, but he never responded.

I think TAS needs to implement a new policy for this to never ever happen again: an audio marker saying something like "This video has been produced for the Tee Eh Ess videos dot org website" during a part with some distinguishable music/sound. Particularly for this video, I think it would go well on the princess peach letter part. Then again, that is at the beginning of the video. Maybe something like shooting out of a cannon? Just overlay that sound with the TASvideos notification thingy?
If the person is trying to take credit for it, they could simply take the sound completely out of the whole video and negate the audio marker you described, or possibly just take out the sound segment with the marker.

The only way I found out about this community was through a TAS run that was posted on YouTube which was properly cited. I think it's okay if videos are posted there so long as credit is given. I agree that we should complain in this instance if there's a chance of getting these vids removed.

I would suggest On the Road by Jack Kerouac and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov.
