Claimed for encoding! (SD)
You know how to do both 512kb and HD. Not sure why you wouldn't encode all of it; you're definitely capable.
I agree with Brandon. When you're claiming an encode, please, do all of it (HD, SD, 512kb). That way, we won't need to have 3 different encoders dumping the exact same movie. (This post is also for you, feos. ;))

The improvements are almost zero. Most camera positions are confusing. That's a no from me. By the way... It is possible to open the front door from inside to enter the castle (there was a competition just for that task, but I'm not sure where). The door that is under water at the beginning gets you to the lower part of the castle. Has someone tried to open that door from inside? This would save much more time if it is possible.
Here's the video you're looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m99SVW91hcU And, yes, a lot of investigation was made on what we call the "moat door" to skip Bowser 1. We haven't found a solution yet.

Mickey, snark and ToT are Japanese. Mickey has the best English, but that doesn't mean he can keep up with all the posts and understand them.

Guys, stop arguing about the camera angles. Have you ever TAS Super Mario 64? It's not like it was possible to hex their improvements with new camera angles. They'll need to re-do EVERYTHING from A to Z just to change some camera angles that THEY like (the AUTHORS)? It's like asking J.K. Rowling "could you please make Harry Potter's hair red? I'd prefer it like that". That's total non-sense. It's their work, not yours. Just rate it lower than the previous movie, if you want, or better, keep watching the old movie instead? Re-doing everything would take many re-records, MHSing and hard work. And about "not noticing the 3 frames improvement" I mean... how could you? Who noticed the 1 FRAME improvement in [1715] NES Super Mario Bros. "warps" by HappyLee in 04:57.31? I surely didn't, but still wanted the run to be published because it pushed the game to it's limit.

Awesome fast-paced run! Did you get all the tapes on the levels? Couldn't tell by watching lol. If you didnt, I would certainly enjoy a 100% run aswell.
In total, I skipped 4 tapes; 2 tapes in Miami being: Grind 5 tables Collect S-K-A-T-E and 2 tapes in San Francisco being: Break 5 cops car Collect S-K-A-T-E

Why didn't you go for golds in the competitions? Seems to me that would have been worth the extra time cost, since otherwise you aren't really "beating" the game, just completing it. Nice work otherwise, though.
My goal was to reach the ending credits as fast as possible. I feel like there wouldn't have been much difference between this and a 100% run anyway. Thanks for your comment!

Starting SD + HD encode. On a more serious note, is this submission serious, sirstarmagic?

That would save time. But, you need the reset version of mupen, which isn't allowed on the site since it resets the emulator, and not the ROM, which is the opposite of all other accepted reset-capable emulators.
Not allowed? What about this run?
