Watched the Youtube encode, voted yes. Incredibly well done. Just one question: The Youtube encode shows that the final hit to Shao Kahn is delivered at 28:39 or so, but the input time is 2 minutes longer. Is there any reason for this?
Yes. The player must choose his "treasure" after finishing the game. http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Treasures_of_Shao_Kahn

Yeah, no. This is not a case which a full TAS would be boring, there's not really any reason to skip to the final boss.

...does it counts as the fastest way to finish the game?

nah, bad game choice. I believe the only WarioWare game that maybe can provide some entertaining TAS is the Twisted one.

To be honest it is my opinion that there be sepparate branches (pal, ntsc).
even then, MUGG's PAL version is better Well, at least you put effort into it. Try harder and you can do it =) Also, trying to beat less optimized movies should be easier.

maybe it uses L and R to switch weapons. If so, should be awesome.
I have done tests in some of the PSX games once, and unfortunately there's 1 frame of lag every time L or R is used to switch weapons. That means that an optimized run can't freely switch weapons the way Mega Man X games or Mega Man 10 can. A weapon would only be used if it saves more than a couple of frames, or if it's in the way of switching to another weapon which would be necessary later. So it wouldn't be as awesome as what we're used of seeing from MMX and MM10.
does that lag appears in the gamecube version as well?

huh. weird. I thought the "warps" category was about "in-game normal" warps, not "crazy glitching" warps. Anyway, obvious yes vote.
It is - this still uses in-game warps, and the warpless will still use the level end glitch.

Just watched Acmlm's run. I SO want to see an encode of this. This looks insanely bad.

My personal opinions on that matter: * This debate varies by discussion, like the "where the last input should be" from the recent TMNT. If you hate this category, I should remind you that most, if not all, Sonic games use in game time. * In this case, Is is not an case of obsoleted category, just a question of a single movie winning 2 different goals at the same time. On the "ingame" time, that movie is now obsolete. If someone break 2 different records on swimming competitions and other person breaks one of them, he won't have to worry about breaking the other one to be recognized. * It is a valid category, using that specified way of timing. * I found the "minimal number of runs" quite silly. If a movie is different enough, it should get as many runs as possible, given a good enough quality, goals and other factors. Numbers of runs already published in the site should not be a reasonable enough argument for a rejection ...but that's just my 2 cents. Not really voting, btw. It's amazingly good, though I don't remember the first run enough to check if is it really different from this one.

...yeah, I don't really think it should obsolete anything BUT this situation shouldn't set any kind of precedent. As moozooh said:

This run should be canceled indeed, but if anything the basis should be the goal misunderstanding.

...wow, this is easily one of the best hacks I've ever see. High concept stuff. Graphics simulating an VR setting. Awesome music. Fast game play. I couldn't give it anything but one of my strongest yes votes ever.

It's not totally useless. If you collect and put all pieces of them into the "furniture room", when you get the best ending, the scene will be slightly altered, as demonstrated in this movie.
...so, it's not useless nor arbitrary at all. It's just a silly Macguffin. If were stars instead of furniture no one would complain about it. And now I'm imagining getting chairs instead of stars in Super Mario 64. Such an evil plan, no one would be able to sit.

If I recall correctly, the rejection reason for the 100% CoTM run was that you don't get anything for 100% completion. It's just an insignificant, tiny stat that's displayed in the menu you won't even see during the run. With this run here, you at least get to see the full room before the final boss, which, in my opinion, makes the difference.
then again, most of the games don't display anything from 100% completion besides a small thing you'll miss if you blink, specially in TASes. The 100% CoTM was rejected because it feels odd to see someone take great paint to get somewhere just to turn around without anything accomplished. The furniture is a collectible item, it's not an arbitrary goal in my opinion. It can be argued that is useless, but then again most items in 100% are just gathered for collection's sake. See DKC's 101% run, where the items gained from these rooms are usually skipped. That said, I'll wait for an encode before casting a vote.
