I feel this thread is getting a bit off topic with the categories. I think everyone makes good points either way, and there's a lot of questions when it comes to different categories. And that precisely the reason for the strict categories in the vault. The point is to minimize subjectiveness in this tier. Why should we publish a category that isn't the fastest? Because there's some kind of entertainment value, or audience. Therefore it should be judged based on moon requirements (which involves audience response). Can we agree you can't generalize what is or isn't a good category for a game? Thus it needs discussion on a game by game basis. The deciding factor in that discussion is whether people like it.
question: Zelda A Link To The Past have 2 any% runs, one glitched and another that's..well, not. Which one should be on wault, only the glitched one?

So what about the movies that have alternate goals, like the 70stars w/o glitches? will it fall under no glitches? Also, using Castlevana Bloodlines as an example, if someone discovers a way to beat the game faster with the "spear guy", will it obsolete the "whip guy" TAS, the way I see. then, what would happen with the other movie?

so wait, let me see if I get it. ANY game can get into the vault? Front Line, for example? (please say yes) I'd like to request a "random" button tier-based, though. Sometimes, I just wanna see a moon TAS instead of a vault TAS And I agree ith "vault" being named "Speedruns" instead. What about movies that don't finish the game, (ie "fastest crash")

Hm, let's apply E.T. Yes voters' logic: "So short it's entertaining. Sure it's a bad game, but it's also infamous, and will draw so many people to the site. Bad game does not equal bad game choice. Yes vote for the reasons provided." Now let's see how this one's judged, since it's basically the same situation as the E.T. run.
No, it's not the same situation. There's almost no gameplay here.

A2600 is such a simple platform it has literally nothing interesting to offer to TASing aside from RNG manipulation. There's no lag, no variable movement speed, no groovy music. I'd be surprised to see an A2600 TAS actually worth the watching time, let alone making. An interesting quest indeed.

Best ending ever. I'll vote yes. It's short, it show the ridiculousness of the game and how fas ET can move while outside of the holes And as a addendum: Please do H.E.R.O.

I actually like the GBA extra levels a lot, so I aprove a 100% on them. since they're unlocked by finishing the game, you could just TAS the new levels

Just fyi, the words "shemale" and "tranny" are considered slurs/insults by many (though not all) members of the trans community. Since you note that you are not a native speaker, it seems likely that this is just the only word for it you've encountered, so I wanted to let you know that if you use it to refer to a transgendered person, they may be insulted. "Transman" and "transwoman" are commonly accepted terms for female-to-male and male-to-female transgendered individuals respectively, putting the emphasis on the true gender of the person rather than the gender they were assigned at birth.
Oh, thanks a LOT. I'll write that down.

question about categorization: does this movie belongs in the group Corrupts memory? (http://tasvideos.org/Movies-C3058Y.html) If I got it right, Shinryuu & FinalFighter call RAM function shenanigans to for the game into giving the "next stage" object, so it would qualify as memory corruption?

Well, for starters I'll vote yes, I loved the run. This run is probably one of how "super human" a TAS can be. And, maybe, that's its main problem. I think it would be benefical for the run aiming at completing all levels getting while getting OCD

there's something I don't get about these MK hacks: why the hell choose the Genesis UMK version to hack? The UMK3 ports are notoriously bugged, and there's tons of other MK3 ports in (literally) every console available. The Genesis version is comparatively washed out in almost ever aspect from the non-portable counterparts (excluding the DS version, of course) That said, I love these hacks. It takes the silliness of Mortal Kombat to a new whole level. Specially Revelations. Funny how Hydro seems only mildly out of place (ie every time he throws his projectile).

this is... awesome. And I'm not really sure if SEGA/Westone didn't wanted this to be found. Maybe that's the ultimate MW4 secret. And even if changing Pepe's leve doesn't change things, well, you have the legendary armor, so it should save time nonetheless.

This game takes the worst of Mario and Castlevania and mix it together. The TAS is well done, but it does not make entertaining enough. Sorry, no vote

That looks absolutely insane. Almost every Mega Man lift I recall from any NES Mega Man game seems to be present. There's only one that I can think of off hand that I didn't see. Rush Search from post NES games? Pokémon music? WTH is this?
believe me, this rom hack gets WAY crazier.

I guess if you're going for 100%, getting Dust Man's weapon is imperative as well, since it's used to get most items... And maybe forgoing Rush Cannon can be beneficial to the run
