Hi OmerAras55. I have attempted to get your movie to sync on libTAS 1,4,6 and 1.4.7, but with no success. Can you please verify whether you can get your submission to sync on either of those versions? Note that we are unable to accept submissions that only sync on interim builds of libTAS.
Hi! I tried it just now. It works perfectly for me in version 1.4.6. But differently, I disabled the "Prevent writing to disk" option in libTAS, because otherwise it crashed on the game startup screen. And since it's synced in 1.4.6, I'll change TAS's description from the interim version to stable 1.4.6.

Hmm, okay. I'm heading to school right now. I'll take a look when I get home. The problem is most likely in the beginning. I'm using mouse input in that section. There was an update about mouse inputs in one of the interim versions of libTAS. Hopefully, it will be fixed if I fix the beginning for version 1.4.7.

I request this User File User movie #638960558126607735 to be replaced with the input file in the submission if possible, thank you. I saved 11 frames in the first room in 8-4. Due to Bowser's fire pattern, I had to sacrifice 1 frame in the water room. And in the last room, due to the bad hammer pattern, I had to extend the last input by 1 frame. Result: I saved 11 frames and lost 2 frames, saving a total of 9 frames.

First of all, yes, I did not change Brandon's subtitles and did not add new subtitles because I don't know how to add or change subtitles.

Interesting that you improved the "minimum presses" TAS after all these years, but I'm not sure you uploaded the right file and encoded the right movie? In Warp 4-2, I don't see any crouch (down) input until you are just about to enter the pipe, which doesn't agree with the description of the saved press in your submission text. Just to be clear, I'm looking at the video from 2:29 to 2:38. Also the uploaded fm2 file seems to have Brandon's subtitles in them.
First of all, yes, I did not change Brandon's subtitles and did not add new subtitles because I don't know how to add or change subtitles. Second, since English is not my native language, I may have caused some misunderstandings in the submission text. I apologize for that. Other than that, the input file and encoded movie are correct. Actually, the part I saved a "A" press is right before entering the warp pipe. I apologize again for describing it incorrectly earlier.
Sounds like Brandon should be co-author from [6313] NES Super Mario Bros. "minimum presses" by Brandon in 05:48.04?
Actually, yes. I will add Brandon as a co-author.

Oh right. Sorry, I wasn't looking carefully. I see the press that was saved at around 2:35 in the video. I made an encode with input display and number of presses shown (I used the "ButtonCount.lua" script in the FCEUX distribution which Brandon, the TASer who made the 142-press TAS, created specifically for this situation): Link to video (No DDR-style display this time. It was somewhat gimmicky to be honest.)
No problem man. And thanks for the encode with input display and number of presses shown, I appreciate it!!

YOOOO! Thanks a lot, HappyLee. And yes, actually my first thought was to make a TAS for the original game, but since I'm a bit more familiar with the remake version, I chose to make a TAS for the remake version. Although I'm still thinking about making a TAS for the original game too!!

Hey, pal! Hey, buddy! I see you've recently and vastly improved your TAS skill! Really quite incredible jump in quality from this submission, I'd say! Looks equivalent to the work that would've been done by... I dunno, 14 TASers or so? I think I'm going to go ahead and promote you directly to Expert Player because of this! But only if you replace "pert" with "TASVideos". Plagiarism of any kind is not welcome here. Get out.

I'm planning to make a TAS for that new version too. Should I use Userfiles after I finish that TAS too?
It's up to you. You can take as long as you want on the v2.0 game's TAS. The judging will either be delayed until your Userfile is posted; or the current TAS can be judged and possibly accepted in the meantime, then you'd submit v2.0 afterward. Among other things, it depends if you want both TASes to reach a larger audience with two submissions/possible publications, or just the newer one. By the way, good TAS! I liked the antics in 8-4, getting the shell stuck and dodging all those hammers. Bowser fight looked fast too. The original was a really fun game back in the day before I had a home console, so thanks for the nostalgia trip!
You are welcome man! I made a new TAS #9886: OmerAras55's Linux Mario Forever: Community Edition "warps" in 08:09.300 for version 2.0.1, but unfortunately, we can't get the shells stuck with the new update :( But I still think it's a lot of fun to watch. And I'm also thinking about making TAS in other categories like “Warpless.”

After a bit of testing, I edited the frame interval here like this: And that way you can save 1 frame rule in 1-2! I stopped earlier with better movement and managed to land left 1 frame earlier by doing a Reverse Backward fast accel on top of that, and coincidentally, it saved me 1 frame rule, meaning 21 frames. After that, it runs smoothly up to 8-2, but it breaks down at 8-2 due to the RNG of some enemies (bullet-bill).
