Pardon me, may be a little off topic, but would someone mind explaining how you find the addresses for what button is being pressed? I see the value dx and dy but unsure what they are. I'm not too familiar with lua. But I'm trying to do something similar with a version of final burn that doesn't support lua. So I've been browsing the memory of the emulator to find the button presses but I'm unsuccessful so far. So if anyone could enlighten me how FBA actually reads button presses I'd appreciate it, thanks. EDIT: In particular, I want to know the capcom fighters values/addresses (SF2, ST, ALPHA, ETC...)

How would you go about adding input display? I've taken a look at the source and my knowledge of C/C++ is very limited. But from what I can see, the inputs are recorded and encoded using the dynamic huffman encoder. I couldn't really figure out where the inputs were to display them on the screen. I'd even be interested in just decoding the actual .FRM into raw input codes, for personal use that is.

Here's to hoping this sparks some interest. I'd love to see this completed. Just tried playing this game normally and I feel so lost.

Just watched the run and it looks great so far. Is there any reason you can't actually manipulate the boss into always missing the party? Sorry I haven't read the entire thread and apologize if it has already been discussed. I'm sure you've tried already but just wondering.

I'd like a WIP also in the re-record format, don't particularly enjoy youtube quality =/.

Im curious if there are any sequence breaking things you can do with a TAS once you get the airship or possibly even the boat. I know with the air ship and precise timing, you can make it land on slopes you're not supposed to. Like where that cave is with the materia and the cliff that you normally need a gold chocobo to get to. Be interesting if anyone ever does figure anything like this out.

I never thought anyone would attempt this game, it's about time someone stood up to the plate. I don't remember much of this game, I rented it once and beat it and never picked it up again, but from what I've seen I like it and will be looking forward to this one being completed.

Since when are movie files so large that we have to be concerned about using a higher compression application? I'm pretty certain that .zip is being used because the tools to unzip are widely available to just about every operating system.

I've still never even beaten an actual run of the game. I'm more interested in seeing it TAS'd just to see it being completed. Will be keeping an eye on this :).

I'd have enjoyed it more if it didn't have the characters voices being spammed over and over when switching between them. Certainly not the authors fault as it is the fastest way to travel. Going to vote yes, I like seeing the game broken but an actual play through would be entertaining as well.

Not worth the time at all IMO. Takes far too long to get and isn't worth the benefits when you can manipulate critical's and instant death attacks.

I've been converting all your FCM's for fceux 2.02 and it's been working perfectly for me. Just FYI buddy. Love the run so far, can't wait to see the final product on this game, I've been waiting a while for someone familiar with this game to TAS it. I had it when I was little but could never beat it or get very far, haha.
