Anyone up to this one to get the best ending (I think its $1,000,000 within year 2)? I don't have enough time to dedicate to a game like this, may not be an interesting TAS but I thought i'd throw it up in the air.

I don't like watching avi's =/. I tv out to my tv via emulator, quality on the AVI's blow and their huge file size =/. Its cool though, I just don't want most of everyone who tries to watch it having it desync.

bazooka becomes useless later on during big fights, especially bad for a TAS since it hits everything near it and at the end, doing 50 dmg to a starman doesn't help, it only does decent damage to the selected target and the regular bazooka is only about 150 somewhat dmg not 300, thats the super bazooka and I believe that requires a IQ of 50+ some to make, which means taking Jeff well into his 50's for lvls, hardly time worthy in a TAS.
So you can't manipulate his IQ gain when he levels up? I'm pretty sure Jeff doesn't get 1 IQ point per level.
Im not sure, out of the 12 playthroughs i've done, getting 3 IQ per level is really really rare. Most of the time with jeff im getting no Iq per level =/. Im not sure how the stats are calculated, if their before the battle, or during, or after enemies are killed, but I do know normally his IQ progression is very slow. Even still, bottle rockets still do more damage than any item he can use, even at low levels. Half of the junk he can make would be useless.

Im not sure, I havn't played in a long time. I liked the replay though. Although to me, I find it would be more stellar and much harder if there weren't just one entrance through a bridge to your base.

Quick question on that replay....Why did none of the computer Terran ever send siege tanks? I've tried doing a 7v1 melee like this and I play as terran and fortify my base similar to yours but its always demolished once the computer terran bring siege tanks. Why didn't this happen on yours (siege tanks at the beginning, all they sent was infantry)? Was it on a lower difficulty or something.

IMO, don't even bother leveling jeff, there is no point other than to raise his IQ to use certain items, you're better off just using bottle rockets with him, multi-bottle rockets near the end of the game do 1500+ dmg to enemies, big bottle rockets do 500 and they both can be bought from the military guy. Don't bother leveling jeff.

Not sure if this will help but I made a normal play through of Earthbound. Maybe someone could use it to skip to a particular area or something else useful. http://www.geocities.com/pasky13/Earthbound_U_Pasky_snes9x_movie.zip

Has anyone actually done a test run or just a regular play through in snes9x or zsnes that I can watch and analyze?

One thing I don't understand that comes to mind right now (I saw a few but don't remember, i'll have to watch again). Why did you waste 2 turns every time to get ryu's AP back to 40? Why didn't you have Bleu and Rand give him the W. Fruit so he could use the dragon the next round, or make rand give him one and have kat give him one the next round and have him use the dragon? If bleu was faster, I don't remember off the topic of my head but couldn't you slow her agility with items or raise ryus? Just curious.

Well, im not sure what level your attempting to get to, but you could possibly skip the Final Key (vase of drought) if you had a wizard that knew open. there are some area's where you can spawn a screen full of metal slimes (8 or 10 at a time), not sure if you could manipulate critical hits or not to kill them, but it may be possible to get your wizard to learn open, and the Day/Night spell.

Not sure what he did, but you could always watch his movie and turn input display on and frame display and see what he pressed during whichever frame.

No, their aaren't. The spread shot will not use all of its bullet when an enemy is hit. The laser will also go through and the rebound cannot be used in a way such as you explained if there is only one enemy on the screen unless I lose time by avoiding it.

Avoid ALL random battles..? ... It could be done, but the way the game generates the enemies is pretty tricky. It's like if it had "zones", which upon entering it, it generates a (not so) random amount of enemies. The trick is to find out where each zone starts, and to manipulate the game into generating 0 enemies everytime. It's feasible ... but it's highly time-consuming (unless SOMEONE happens to find the memory adress for the amount of enemies generated in the next zone? :D) When I start working on this TAS (which should be in less than a month), I'll do what I can to make it as enemyless as possible, but like I said, it's pretty time consuming. I'll need all the patience I can get :)
Can't each zone be found using PK Hack? It has a map editor in which you can set enemy placement I believe: http://pkhack.fobby.net/download.php

Im not sure if some of you are mistaking some of the missed shots that are left overs, the rebound shoots 3 bullets at once, some enemies only take 1 or 2 bullets to die so the third keeps going past them, not sure if this is the issue.

Well, the main goal is to collect all gems while being as fast as possible. I don't understand what you mean by I keep missing some quick shots, some enemies I did dodge like in stage 1-2 to show off, not because I couldn't hit them. Just about every shot I made on bosses was the fastest I could shoot as you cannot constantly shoot. There is a part where I used the laser while falling and it did miss a few shots to save time, not because I couldn't hit him, but because the laser is an odd weapon in the game, its angle changes only while you keep firing, so in order to hit him with more shots, this had to be attempted. The only stage I can think of that added a significant amount of time while collecting the gems was the underwater stage. At the 1-2 boss, one shot did not hit because it was either hit him with one 2 balls and the missle or not hit him at all for 2 "charge's" as there is a slight delay between shots. If you really want to see the game beaten as fast as possible, there is a cheat code to warp to the last stage, I find runs like those boring. The game is very fast paced, so when collecting the gems, I didn't find it boring to watch at all except at the water stage but it had some significant side scrolling action to make up for it. There are a couple of times in the movie where I grapple hook and it seems like I miss on my way down, I did this to show off, if you look at the game in slow motion you'll see it misses the hook by the last possible moment. I suppose the game is so quick that it doesn't seem that way and I should just hex those out. Can you please explain what shots I missed?
